Hi everyone and welcome to all the new BFPs!
Sorry to hear a few of our are ill, it’s rotten when there’s not much you can take. Thanks for posting that link smashy just had a read through as I’ve still been drinking tea and unfortunately have a bad Coca Cola habit...never manage to give it up completely but will cut down again. Also had pâté on toast last night totally didn’t think!

Good luck with your scan today hetty looking forward to hearing about it. Mine is a week today, seems ages away!

Babydreaming · 12/12/2017 10:19

@bobcat my little one still doesn’t have teeth! Can you believe it? I’ve got all the teething fun to come still! :(

He has one tiny tooth but it’s been at the gum line for ages and not budging!

SmashyCup · 12/12/2017 10:31

I have a cold too. I guess it's that time of year. Sad

No problem @WeAllShine I am already missing cured ham. And wine!

Good luck with the scan @Hettyturnip

@Babydreaming teething sucks! My DS has just cut his fourth tooth, poor little thing. It makes them so unhappy!

Can't get my head around how baby + work + commuting + being heavily pregnant is going to work, but it sounds like there may be a few of us in that boat!

Jonquille · 12/12/2017 10:32

Marking my place here. Missed my period for a week, started to have sore boobs and tested, it is positive. Another surprise pregnancy for me. I already have two DDs, I am still in shock, DH too. Apparently due on the 14th of August 2018. Joining this club to overcome my shock. I know I must be lucky, but my emotions are all over the place.

SmashyCup · 12/12/2017 10:37

Congratulations @Jonquille !

badb · 12/12/2017 11:12

I feel utterly grim today. I have a stonking head cold, and sore throat, and all I want to do is lie down and go to sleep. My daughter - thankfully, because it's a very rare occurrence - slept through last night. Still, I was up till 1 am coughing and sniffling.

I rang the clinic to book in for an early reassurance scan, so that's ticked off the list.

Eloisa123 · 12/12/2017 11:30

hi all.Congrats everyone. I got mine yesterday and due date is 20 August. I'm 44 so probably the oldest person here! x

Whichoneisit · 12/12/2017 11:50

I generally drink one cup of decaf tea a day and no coffee so I’m not missing caffeine but I did miss having a glass of wine on the weekend.
Symptoms have kicked in today. Have booked a viability scan for 30th when I’ll be 7+1.
My local health board now offer a nuchal fold scan. They didn’t when I had DS so we had one privately. NHS only test for down’s so am debating having it done privately to check for edward’s and Patau or maybe paying a little extra and having the nifty test. Any thoughts?

somersetsinger · 12/12/2017 12:21

Haven't thought about the tests offered at 12 week scan yet. I'm just aiming on getting that far.

DuchessofStBridget, when I phoned to make a first appointment, the midwife said they offer the flu jab at the booking in scan. It'll be different around the country, but that will be when I'm 8 weeks.

Hettyturnip · 12/12/2017 13:54

Well, Scan was disappointing as i’m Only 5 weeks so it was just an empty sac. Going back in 2 weeks. Bit worrying because it means I tested early, or that it’s not growing very well. Maybe it will all be fine?? I just don’t know. I have a due date now though 14.8.17

bobcat85 · 12/12/2017 13:58

Babydreaming Maybe they'll all come through at once. Might be easier to get them all done in one go hehe.
My son has got a few molars coming through so he's been miserable for the last two days with a temperature.

Babydreaming · 12/12/2017 13:59

@hettyturnip sorry to hear that! It’s normal not to see much at 5 weeks though and easy to get dates out.

When was the 1st day of your LMP and how long are your cycles and when did you 1st get BFP?

My due date is 15th so we are very similar!

bobcat85 · 12/12/2017 14:00

Sorry to hear about your scan Hettyturnip, I have my fingers crossed all is ok.

amzq87 · 12/12/2017 14:05

Sorry to hear about the scan @Hettyturnip - hopefully it will be brilliant in two weeks time :-)

Hettyturnip · 12/12/2017 14:08

I don’t have regular cycles and as we weren’t trying I didn’t keep track. I took a test Monday last week, had some symptoms over the weekend so tested. So 5 weeks isn’t that unreasonable, but i’ve been like this twice before and it didn’t go well. But I am pregnant, and I’m going to think positively

Babydreaming · 12/12/2017 14:28

@hettyturnip I think 5w sounds very reasonable then? I also got my BFP around that time (a little earlier but was very faint initially!) fingers crossed for your next scan and try not to stress over Christmas! :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 12/12/2017 15:10

A late joiner.. tentatively posting here! Got BFP this morning at 10dpo which puts me on an EDD of 25 August !!

I had a miscarriage in May at 10 weeks so crossing my fingers tightly that this one works out.

SpriteGirl · 12/12/2017 15:22

Sorry to hear a bout your scan @Hettyturnip, hopefully you will be reassured in a couple of weeks time.

Congratulations and welcome @TheGrumpySquirrel

spydie · 12/12/2017 17:33

@babydreaming my DD didn't get any teeth until 14 months. She's now got 9 and a half at 22 months... it's been hell!!

Welcome those that have joined, and congrats!

I'm 5 weeks and 5 days according to lmp... starting to get anxious by lack of symptoms. I do have some symptoms, but still no nausea and it's making me paranoid! I didn't get any until 8 weeks last time so telling myself it must be the same this time, but worrying all the same!!

Kiki275 · 12/12/2017 17:40

You're all making me really nervous starting with nausea now, it's not hit me... yet. I'm staying at my husbands family farm over xmas and my DFIL will quite happily walk in, stand and chat to you covered in every kind of cow excrement going. Dreading it!! Is it really bad form to vom over your in-laws? Xmas Wink We're breaking the news to them this weekend so hopefully he'll play nice and get changed quickly.x

LadesC · 12/12/2017 20:51

Feeling pretty meh today. Started brown spotting last night and its continued today but getting a bit pinker. Got backache and my booba have stopped hurting so Im feeling its bad news. Went to see epau nurse today( i work at hosp) and they r scanning me nxt wed. I will only be 5.5wks by my late ovulation (day 20) but she said they only consider lmp which wud put me at nearer 7wks but i dont think thats rite. Im a sonographer so i know loads of ladies spot and its fine but it just doesnt feel like its going well.

CaffeineDragon · 12/12/2017 21:00

Nausea ramping up and I wasn't prepared for this - last time I didn't have a lot and loved most of my pregnancy! (So don't worry those who aren't nauseous! It's not mandatory!)

My 22mo doesn't sleep through and we're shattered (pretty much 22mos of this) and I'm having a day where I freak out that we're doing this all over again. We're pretty much co-sleeping the second half of the night every night.

I need to keep this from work for a while so really hoping that it doesn't ramp up more.

Congrats all new joiners and happy to hear the update @mamabearxoxo.

CaffeineDragon · 12/12/2017 21:02

@LadesC sorry to hear that. I hope it's just implantation bleeding. Fingers crossed for you.

DuchessofStBridget · 12/12/2017 22:31

Thank you @somersetsinger, I'll ask the doctor about it next week.

Congratulations to all the new joiners! @LadesC I remember my breasts hurt on and off over the first twelve weeks. I spent a lot of time poking them!

@hettyturnip Sorry to hear your scan was disappointing, but I guess it's pretty small at the moment if you're only five weeks? I hope it's better next time!

StrawberryLemonade · 12/12/2017 23:56

Sorry about your scan hettyturnip I hope the next one is more informative. Sounds like it's just a little early to see. Lades I hope the spotting doesn't turn into anything and that your scan also brings good news.

I feel pretty rubbish tonight quite nauseous and unsure if it's a bug or pregnancy related. Also currently up with toddler so hoping I get some sleep soon. Said toddler will not entertain daddy at all at the moment!
