purplebiro I had spotting throughout my first trimester last time, it was very worrying but worked out fine in the end. I went into the epu a lot for reassurance and had several private scans too. So many of my friends have said they had spotting too but went on as successful pregnancies so it does seem really common, just really scary. Thinking of you.

senzaparole03 · 11/11/2017 21:45

Booking in appointment in the morning.

First pregnancy, so really new to all this! Feeling a little nervous.

Have completely irrational fear of being told I'm not pregnant. Mad or what.

purplebiro · 11/11/2017 22:22

Thanks all. Still having occasional pink wipes but starting to think that the cramps were down to too tight trousers round my waist (and not due to bump, I might add!). Looking forward to treating myself to some pregnancy leggings this week - my carb loading first trimester diet has not been kind to my middle!

Sictransitgloria · 12/11/2017 00:06

@senza totally agree. Mine's next Friday and it feels very surreal!

GreggsSausageRolls · 12/11/2017 08:05

Checking in, It’s been a while since I posted. Hope you’re all well. I’m still exhausted, asleep by nine most nights! Will catch up on thread later.

CrmbleBee · 12/11/2017 08:47

Not been on for a while, now 8+4 and had an early scan yesterday- saw little heartbeat going and all seems normal for now! Hoping for that to continue. Tired and still nauseated but all else is good.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Gaelach · 12/11/2017 09:45

I'm 8+1 and haven't heard anything from my midwife yet, should I have got an appointment letter for my booking in appointment yet?

Emz01 · 12/11/2017 18:25

@Gaelach normally you call the GP and make an appointment to see the midwife there. Your first appointment is usually between 8-10 weeks. Might be worth calling them and booking yourself in.

Gaelach · 12/11/2017 19:23

@Emz01 thanks! I've been to see my GP already and he said he would make the referral to the midwife and I'd hear from them. I'll follow it up with the GP tomorrow and it's not unheard of for him to forget to make onward referrals.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/11/2017 08:59

12 week scan on Friday! It feels like I've been waiting forever. It's going to be a long week

usernamegoeshere · 13/11/2017 10:46

Me too 17cat I was fairly calm till this morning now I'm panicking and time is really dragging along !

Hanz88 · 13/11/2017 11:12

ahh 17cat and username my 12 week scan is Friday too..the nerves are kicking in! Have either of you been having really vivid dreams or is that just me,

BoofayTheOompaLoompaSlayer · 13/11/2017 11:23

Got mine tomorrow. Barely slept last night, and when I did I was dreaming about really bizarre scan related situations. At one point they decided to take blood from my shin! My husband was running late for my scan and my youngest son was with me too.

All very odd!

Hanz88 · 13/11/2017 11:28

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Boofay! Glad it's not just me with the odd dreams.

BoofayTheOompaLoompaSlayer · 13/11/2017 12:15

Definitely not just you @Hanz88. I’ve had some really strange dreams since becoming pregnant. Happens every time for me. I guess we’re just trying to process a whole ton of stuff in our sleep.
I’ve even had zombie dreams this pregnancy. I have an irrational fear of a zombie apocalypse and zombies scare the sh*t outta me!! 😂😂 Ridiculous I know!

usernamegoeshere · 13/11/2017 12:43

Hanz88 crazy vivid dreams every single night for over a week, today I got to work and was really struggling to distinguish last nights dream from reality !

Emz01 · 13/11/2017 13:25

Just had my 12 week scan appointment through this morning. Booked in for 28/11so should be 12+2, seems ages away at the moment but the last scan I had came around quite quick so hopefully this one does too!

I’ve had really vivid dreams too, literally happening every night!

Lulu298 · 13/11/2017 13:42

Omg, I had a zombie nightmare last night boofay!

Scan is 2 weeks away today. Time is dragging...

senzaparole03 · 13/11/2017 13:52

Had my booking appointment on Sunday. Underwhelming!
Quite anti-climactic really.

Waiting for a scan date to come through, but also thinking of going for an early scan privately by the end of the month, which would be past 10 weeks.

Hanz88 · 13/11/2017 15:31

So glad i'm not having zombie nightmares, my dreams just seem to involve random people from work!

@senza was the booking in appointment just a load of questions? I got mine on Wednesday morning..probably should lower my expectations! Smile

senzaparole03 · 13/11/2017 15:53

@Hanz

Yes... just a load of questions!
Urine sample, blood samples, BP check. Then just a LONG medical history and check list on the computer.

That's it.

SylvesterTheCat · 13/11/2017 16:03

I've got my booking appointment on Wednesday too. I've been told it can last about an hour- form filling, possible urine test, blood pressure, weight & height (for BMI)...
I'm not expecting anything spectacular.

Am I right in assuming that the midwife is unlikely to examine me "down there"? I always feel I need preparation for this!Confused

senzaparole03 · 13/11/2017 16:05

Definitely no 'down there'.

I expected an abdominal examine like my GP did, but not even that.

ArkadyRose · 13/11/2017 16:07

Don't be surprised if it seems to take a long time - mine took 2.5 hours!

thumbelina03 · 13/11/2017 16:27

2.5 hours?!! What did they do with you?
