Bfp today, not fmu so very surprised! Fingers crossed it's not another chemical!!!
Hopefully 5th time lucky and an end of June baby

Weareboatsremember · 21/10/2017 20:01

Hi guys, can I join too please? Already have a dd aged 4, had a mmc at 9 weeks, 2 and a half years ago and have only just felt ready to try again. Luckily caught in the first month of trying, so I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that it ends in a baby.
Congrats to all others, and my hugest sympathies to those with early losses.
Due on 22nd June 😄

SylvesterTheCat · 21/10/2017 21:12

Weareboatsremember welcome and congrats!!!
Seems quiet here tonight. Maybe everyone's in bed already (I'm not far off). We know how to party!

shortcake76 · 21/10/2017 22:21

Think most chat on the Facebook group rather than on the thread.

UnicornDust17 · 21/10/2017 22:24

Congrats @canthavethenameiwant and @Weareboatsremember Smile

Bunnyears85 · 21/10/2017 23:24

So quiet on here tonight! I'd like to stay here until the 12 week scan before moving to the FB group. DS has a really high temp so I'm comforting him at the mo! Luckily his room is also the guest room so at least I have a bed to sleep in!

Congratulations to all newcomers!!

Re: early scan. I am having one on 31st Oct (9weeks) I had one with DS and I found it sooo reassuring - Suffer with anxiety so it eased that a bit too.

Hoping time goes quickly but also treasuring quality one to one time with DS (16 months) Even if he was a complete and utter nightmare in Ikea today Grin

Hi there. I'd like to join as well. Am now 7+2 with my first so am due 8th June. Feeling super anxious but had an early scan on Thursday which showed a heartbeat and baby is correct size for date which made me feel quite a bit better. I have been massively lucky as I have diminished ovarian reserve (age only 34) but first attempt at IVF was successful. Currently touching wood like a completely crazy person!

Phryne · 22/10/2017 07:14

Big hugs to @imogen and @lady and any one else having a difficult time.

I had an early scan both times and it was well worth it as it either have reassurance or a warning that the miscarriage was on its way so killed all false hope. DP is booking one for when I get home. I am trying to convince myself I feel sick and therefore everything is fine... Unfortunately both my mum and DD are ill so it's not as relaxing a holiday as I'd hoped!

GotADolly · 22/10/2017 07:33

I’ve had bleeding with a couple of clots- I’m guessing I’m out.

Cookie1831 · 22/10/2017 07:35

Welcome newbies I haven't joined the Facebook group yet in case there is anyone I know on there 🙈

ScienceGeekGirl · 22/10/2017 08:41

So sorry gotadolly. Take care of yourself.

I’m booked in for an early scan. Was actually DH idea, we had one last time, and wasn’t gonna say no. So bring on the 8th. Feels like eternity. In fact feels ages since I got my faint line but it’s been less than a week.

Lulu298 · 22/10/2017 08:43

Hope you're not gotadolly.

Snap about the FB group bunny ears.

We're off to spend a week with my family. My mum and dad know but no one else and am wondering whether we should tell them as we're doing a meal rota otherwise I might have more awkward and obvious moments last night when I told my mil that I couldn't have chèvre goats cheese! But am only 7+4 so ideally wouldn't. Hmmm.

ElizabethLemon · 22/10/2017 09:38

I don't want to join the FB group just yet either, maybe after 12 week scan.

We're off to a very posh wedding today, 1pm to 11pm 😱. Not sure how I'm going to manage especially without the booze to get me through. Main worry is trying not to puke in the chapel!

TurtleEyes · 22/10/2017 09:44

So sorry gotadolly sending you hugs

I have managed to persuade do that we need an early scan! He wants to wait until after scan to announce it but I’m 12 weeks 3 days before his sisters wedding and that’s the day it’s booked for. Bit awkward to announce it then.
So I took full advantage of him being a little tipsy last night and we are going to try and book for week 9 Grin

CuppaSarah · 22/10/2017 10:14

Hi everyone, just popping in to let you know I'm thinking of you all.

I am so so sorry for those of you who have has losses. It's so painful and cruel and just unfair.

I'm also really happy to see lots of you doing well! I'll probably pop back again around Christmas to nosey at your scan pics. All is ok here and me and dh have been working through our emotions and been enjoying the champagne we've been saving this weekend.

Good luck you lovely mummies to be, I hope you all have enough morning sickness to be reassuring, but not enough to feel like crap all the time.

UnicornDust17 · 22/10/2017 10:21

Sorry to hear that @GotADolly Sad

I stupidly did another clearblue and it still hasn't moved. Still at 2-3 weeks... Why do I so this to myself?? Confused

The last time this happened I did MC and but spotting has stopped (for now) and no pain, but no symptoms either.... Trying to step away from Google....

The FB group is fairly quietish at the moment too...

Will wait and see what the next week brings.... Wishing you all a happy Sunday!

SoozC · 22/10/2017 11:03

Hello, I'd like to join. Just got my BFP today! First pregnancy so it's all new, freaking out a little!!!

curliegirlie · 22/10/2017 11:39

Well, I went to the charity do with DH and my MIL. My brother and sister in law were babysitting and I get the feeling they suspect, as BIL was asking very pointedly if we were all drinking. I wonder if MIL’s been less discreet than she might Hmm

timeisnotaline · 22/10/2017 11:39

Congrats sooz!
Dp offered an early scan after I was freakign out at telling work before the 12 week scan but I have so far held out. I will wish I had taken one if things don't work out though!

SylvesterTheCat · 22/10/2017 11:41

CuppaSarah good to see you again. Hope you're doing ok

senzaparole03 · 22/10/2017 12:34

Can people explain a bit more about early scans?

First time pregnancy here, and I am waiting to hear from the antenatal clinic for my first midwife appointment. I'm currently 5+3..

Where do you go for early scans?
How much do they cost?
What are the waiting times?

Thanks!

senzaparole03 · 22/10/2017 12:37

And like @bunnyears85 , I'm going to stay here until I have a scan and join the FB group.

Don't want to jinx myself.

Caspiana · 22/10/2017 12:43

Congratulations and welcome @soozC!

Lovely to hear from you @cuppasarah, hope you’re doing ok in the circumstances.

@senzaparole03 early scans are private so usually no waiting time as such, you just book in for whenever they have availability. No point going before 6 weeks, usually better to wait till nearer 7. The later you go the more you will see.

Where I go is £70 but somewhere else locally offers for £45. I’m in the West Midlands.

The benefit is you hopefully get reassurance early on that the pregnancy is viable. If a heartbeat is detected your risk of miscarriage drops, how low depends on how far along you are. Clinic I go to says drops to 10% at 6 weeks, 5% at weeks and 2% at 8 weeks.

The negatives are you may get bad news, although it does mean you find out earlier then you otherwise might. But also sometimes the scans are ambiguous eg they cannot detect a heartbeat but cannot say if that’s because pregnancy isn’t viable, or because it’s just too early. This can cause an agonising wait.

I have had 2 because I am impatient but some people prefer to just wait till 12 weeks seeing as it won’t change anything anyway.

Impatientmummy36 · 22/10/2017 12:53

Hello all, I'm being a bit quiet at the mo and not wanting to post on fb either until feel safer. Feeling sick and tired so I'm pleased really!

So sorry gotadolly , I know how awful this is (and to anyone with spotting/feeling hcg not rising) as it happened to me in Aug and I was devastated xx

If anyone's especially worried and wants reassurance, I booked a nurse apt at gps, asked for pregnancy blood test and then same again 5 days later, so I could check hcg rising as it should be. This was last week and was so reassuring. Epu does this if you're having a bleed/other issues but I found gps practice were fine to do it just for reassurance

Alice0906 · 22/10/2017 16:38

Hello, may I join you?

I'm totally new to all this, so please forgive me if it takes me a while to figure out all the abbreviations! It's a bit confusing at first. Is there a dictionary anywhere?!

I'm 35 years old and 7wks 1 day into my first pregnancy. Due date (from date of last period) is 9th June. Everything seems to be going fine so far. A bit of nausea and tiredness, but it seems I've got off lightly there. My breasts are already quite swollen and tender, so bra shopping is probably on the agenda for sooner rather than later. My appetite is all over the place and I want some interesting foods! Oh and I'm drinking and urinating more too. All pretty normal as far as I can tell.

Hubby is over the moon and very anxious and protective atm. We've told our parents and he's told his brother but apart from that we're keeping it quiet until the scan (not until 27th Nov - and I am SOOO impatient!). It's driving me mad not telling the entire world, so I thought I'd find some people online to share with. Smile
