Welcome @alice0906! Congratulations! I’ve been here ages and still don’t understand all the abbreviations Smile. I think there probably is a list somewhere but if there are any you don’t get, just ask!

Bunnyears85 · 22/10/2017 20:41

Just had a massive go and DH for ‘not understanding’ and stormed off upstairs. Seriously!! Completely unnecessary, fame you hormones! If only I wasn’t so stubborn I may actually apologise but for now I will continue to sulk over nothing in particular. Hmm

Oh Bunny I was a brat to DH yesterday. I was a bit like a child, I knew I was being grumpy but I couldn't help it. Now he's ill today and reckons my hormones have infected him. 😂

YumLemonCheesecake · 22/10/2017 20:57

Hello.
May I join? Got a positive test Thursday and I've been trying to take it all in since then. From various websites I think i've worked out a due date of 22nd June.
I sent off my online referral today so a case of just waiting now, had a panic earlier when i noticed my multivits have Vit A in so will be buying new ones tomorrow.

SoozC · 22/10/2017 21:04

Welcome to the boards, @Alice0906, you get used to all the shorthand! I've just joined this club too. I'm 36, I'm due June 27th apparently, so around 4+4wks. We found out today although I've suspected for a while. It's our first. I am so keen to get the ball rolling as we've been trying for ages! Can't wait to get a scan date booked in! We're telling parents tomorrow if I still have a positive result and then DH days he's too impatient to wait another 8 weeks so we'll probably end up telling friends and other family tomorrow too. I can barely contain myself right now, I so want to tell people! These boards are great for that! Grin

Bunnyears85 · 22/10/2017 21:10

Congratulations to all with new BFPs!!

So far my symptoms have been, waking up at 3am every day which is making my exhausted all day , horrible taste in my mouth, cramps and hungry all the time.
Any one else having anything similar?

senzaparole03 · 22/10/2017 21:14

Congratulations, @SoozC !

I am so exited to tell friends, but too nervous to do it yet except for my oldest friend who is also pregnant.

It was my birthday on Wednesday, and I was out in Soho last night for dinner with 2 friends and I'm really shocked they didn't twig!

I was there before them so i ordered virgin cocktail and made it last. They thought it was gin. then we shared a big chocolate dessert so I also had a coffee (decaf) which isn't unusual for evening.

I also highlighted how much wine i drank when I was in my sister's house for a week (totally true) so explained why i was taking it easy.

In the end, I went home fine, but actually I was a little bit disappointed they didn't guess so I could talk to them about it!!

SoozC · 22/10/2017 21:54

@YumLemonCheesecake, my only symptom at the moment is a tender lower abdomen, like it's been pushed too hard. I've had lots of lower back pain too but it's not around today, thank goodness!

@senzaparole03, I don't know how you managed not to tell! A whole evening? That's serious willpower! DH is impatient and we've been trying a long time so we're desperate for people to know! How I've not been telling everyone I know tonight I don't know!

Alice0906 · 22/10/2017 21:58

@soozC we found out at 4 weeks exactly. The day before my period was due I had some watery vaginal discharge, so after a quick google I was pretty confident I was pregnant. We were going to visit my parents the next day, so we bought a test on our way to the station and I did it there. I couldn't resist telling my mum straight away! We didn't feel confident telling other people that early though. DH (I'm learning!) told his mum and brother last week.

I'm with @senzaparole03 kinda hoping people will guess and ask so I can tell them! We had a family lunch a couple of weeks ago, everyone was drinking except me and no one asked! We were visiting my cousin who's literally the only person in both our families with a young child, so I really wanted them to work it out! Surely they must have guessed?! It's no secret that we want to start a family. We got married 9 months ago and went to the Caribbean for our honeymoon, so followed the zika advice and waited 6 months before we started trying. I suspect they wondered, but were too polite to ask directly.

I'm feeling more confident now it's past 7 weeks and want to share. We agreed we'd spill the beans after the scan though, so I'm trying to be good. My next door neighbour knows, she knew we were trying and asked. She has a 6mo so at least I can talk babies and pregnancy with her!

@yumlemoncheesecake I'm hungry too! I'm trying not to eat too much, but I keep snacking. It's weird, I can finish a meal and feel hungry, even though I know I'm full. Then some days I get full really quickly. Oh and I'm loving gherkins atm. In fact, I think I might go and get one from the jar now...

(Sorry everyone, I talk a lot!)

YumLemonCheesecake · 22/10/2017 22:01

@Alice0906 I know exactly how you feel i finished my decent sized dinner and 10 minutes later i was so hungry, i think i may have to split up my lunch/dinners to last throughout the day!

Alice0906 · 22/10/2017 22:29

@yumlemoncheesecake
I bought some rice cakes and things so I could snack a lot without consuming too many extra calories this early. Trouble is I keep melting lots of cheese on them!

A week or two ago it was hummus and pitta bread, but I want stronger flavours now.

weasledee · 23/10/2017 07:56

Morning ladies, wish me luck, it’s early scan day! :)

lampert · 23/10/2017 07:57

Good luck @weasledee!! Do let us know how you get on, I LOVE seeing the pics!!

usernamegoeshere · 23/10/2017 08:06

Good luck @weasledee !

Welcome new joiners, congrats. I'm really tired it's unbelievable, I think I could go bed at 7pm every night, as it is I'm holding out till 9ish only

Mummyloves09 · 23/10/2017 08:23

Good morning ladies,

Welcome all new comersSmile.

@weasledee good luck with your scan todaySmile.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm having an awful time, been up since 1am with my head in the toilet. And I feel so sluggish and drained. Which is not me at all.

How is everyone else feeling?

SoozC · 23/10/2017 08:41

@weasledee, good luck!

Sorry to hear you've been unwell, @Mummyloves09. I'm guessing you're a bit further along than me, I'm 4+5wks? I haven't felt much of anything TBH.

Is anyone else completely paranoid and scared something is going to happen?!

ElizabethLemon · 23/10/2017 08:43

Anyone else got extreme nausea but without the puking?

Last time I was a regular vomiter but I never actually get to the point of being sick this time. It's horrible! I feel like if I was sick there would be some relief but instead I'm just squirming about feeling gross!

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/10/2017 08:56

If it makes you feel better @ElizabethLemon some days I am sick all day and someday I feel like you but aren't actually sick. The days I'm sick doesn't give me any relief I feel just as sick after lol

Feeling really run down and achy/cold plus headachy. Pregnancy is so much harder this time round with a toddler to look after

shortcake76 · 23/10/2017 09:08

@ElizabethLemon - yep, that was pretty much me most of the weekend. Feeling reeally nauseous without actually vomiting. It sucks. I'm about 6w5d today and have read that supposedly weeks 9-10 are the worst - joy! I hate feeling like this - hate not feeling well enough to exercise and hate putting on clothes only to find they're too tight. Vicious circle.

Mummyloves09 · 23/10/2017 09:17

@SoozC going by Lmp I should be 7weeks +6. But that will be clarified on Wednesday.
@ElizabethLemon I used to just be nauseous all day but now I have started being sick which just as bad.

I have extremely sore nipples and I have lost my appetite these last 2 days and the burping just never stops.

PJsAndProsecco · 23/10/2017 09:21

Hello ladies! I’ve just got my BFP this morning! I think I’m 5+2. This is baby number 2 :) can’t believe I’m pregnant again, it’s so surreal! I had nausea from 6 weeks onwards with my first so I’m bracing myself for it in the coming days 😷
Phoning the docs this morning...anyone else find it surreal doing it all a second time?! There will be 3 years 2 months between my DD and this baby! So odd talking about midwives etc again :)

CoffeeChocolateWine · 23/10/2017 11:36

Is anyone more clued up than me about things we can eat and can't eat?! It's been 6 years since I was last pregnant and I think things have moved on a bit. The closest thing I'm getting to a craving right now is dippy eggs and I thought they were off the menu for the next 7 months, but my Mum reckons these are ok now? I would love to tuck into some avocado on toast with a soft poached egg on top...can I??

timeisnotaline · 23/10/2017 11:46

coffee British red lion eggs are fine runny :) I plan to go bananas on cookie dough and cake batter etc once the nausea is gone!

SylvesterTheCat · 23/10/2017 11:57

Coffeechocolatewine I'm going to try to be safe than sorry so I'm being careful with undercooked eggwhites (apparently the law has recently changed: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-41568998)

I'm also avoiding raw fish/sushi, certain cheeses (pasteurised is ok but apparently we need to avoid those with 'mould' like blue cheeses), liver (which contains a lot of vitamin A), wine, too much caffeine.

I'm using the Ovia app, which has a food list (it's American so not 100% sure about UK recommendations, which is where I'm from).
