Lady and Imogen, I'm so very sorry.

Sictransitgloria · 20/10/2017 18:57

Very sad to hear your news @imogen and @Lady
Hope you are both being well supported and loved xxx

Impatientmummy36 · 20/10/2017 19:23

Oh fck I'm so so sorry ladydolly, and Imogen. You must be feeling distraught. I don't know what to say I'm just so sorry, and terrified and convinced it's about to happen to me too, the odds are so high, 1 in 4, it's just so cruel and so shit. Really hope you're being looked after xxx

senzaparole03 · 20/10/2017 19:35

@impatientmummy
" I don't know what to say I'm just so sorry, and terrified and convinced it's about to happen to me too, the odds are so high, 1 in 4, it's just so cruel and so shit."

Me too. I'm a bit terrified.

So it thought, looking up statistics might help me. (i'm not trying to be insensitive to those recently experience miscarriage, but this is helping me calm my fears so it might for others)

At week 4, it's 25%.

At week 5, it's 20%

At week 6, it's 13%

At week 7, it's 8%

At week 8, it's 5%.

And by the time you reach 10 weeks, your risk is under 2.5%.

Impatientmummy36 · 20/10/2017 20:41

Senzaparole thanks - you're right to point out the positives too, and it does help to know that with every week the risk lowers until it's very low ...

I honestly never worried about all of this with my first, must've been in a bubble!

Really looking fwd to getting past the milestone of the first scan at least. Fingers crossed for us all.

x

Emz01 · 20/10/2017 21:30

So sorry to hear this @ImogenTubbs and @ladydolly it’s so heartbreaking. Please take care of yourselves and thinking of you both Flowers

PrincessPunzie · 20/10/2017 21:59

I'm so, so sorry for the ladies who have had losses.

To add to the miscarriage stats, I've just read that your odds of a mc if you've previously had a live birth are just 5%.

That cheered me, as I'm still only at four weeks, so I hope it helps others too x

GotADolly · 20/10/2017 23:05

Hello! Due 30/6 or thereabouts. My son arrived 8 weeks early, not got much hope for full term this time round but will go with June as our EDD!

Cookie1831 · 21/10/2017 07:01

Wow gotadolly fingers crossed you get to June x
Am feeling proud of myself managed not to do another pregnancy test today 🙈have had 7 positives so far and did an OPK too am just so nervous! Have booked an early scan when I will 6-7 weeks but that isn't for another 2 weeks and 2 days....

Mumof3cheeky · 21/10/2017 09:37

@lady and @imogen I’m soo sorry to hear this hope it sorts itself out quickly and you can get back on to ttc again xx

Lulu298 · 21/10/2017 12:06

So sorry ladydolly and Imogen. Xx

Orangesaretheonly · 21/10/2017 13:37

Who is having an early scan? I suffer with anxiety and I’m contemplating paying for one at 8 weeks. Am 6+1 now. Just to put my mind at rest and hopefully see heartbeat. I know there are mixed feelings about it so wanted some advise. Sorry to those that have had losses xxxx

shortcake76 · 21/10/2017 13:40

I am going to wait re early scanning unless anything happens between now and the NHS one. We're paying out for Harmony testing so a private scan is another expense at the moment.

weasledee · 21/10/2017 13:42

Oranges, I’ve got one next week. I’ll be around 7 weeks. I’m having one because I had a late loss at 14 weeks in the summer. I have mixed feelings as I had a similar scan (private) last time and that was fine, but then it all went wrong later....
I guess they give reassurance on the day but then it can all change anyway. The best thing I guess is that u get confirmation of a heartbeat (all being well) and if there isn’t one at least you know. (Sorry for sounding like the voice of doom!!!!) Grin

Emz01 · 21/10/2017 14:28

@Orangesaretheonly I’m having an early scan next Sunday. Should be 8 weeks on the dot, I know it’s 100% confirmation that everything is fine but it would just be reassuring to see the heartbeat and check growth is ok. It’s each to their own and whatever makes you feel more at ease. I had one with DS and it was just amazing to see and know things looked good at the time.

HolyShmoly · 21/10/2017 15:38

I'm having on next Saturday. By my reckoning I'll be 7+3, NHS dates me at 8+3 but I have a longer cycle.
If all goes well with this then we'll tell my mum that week and I'll feel more comfortable telling my boss when I'm off for the 12 week scan.

Mummyloves09 · 21/10/2017 15:59

Good afternoon ladies,

I have a feeling im out so I will be leaving this group.

So good luck with your pregnancies and wishing you all healthy June babies.

Take care of yourselves

Mumof3cheeky · 21/10/2017 16:06

@Mummyloves09 what makes you think that?
Are you just having one of those days when doubting yourself or have any symptoms? Sending you hugs Flowers

Mummyloves09 · 21/10/2017 16:44

I thought I was being smart so I carried my shopping upstairs all at once. It had a couple of bottles of drink it in and the usual things (around 5 bags). So heavy enough. But I spotted pinkish blood and twinges and slight abdominal cramps. now i have a feeling I have Done damage.

Cookie1831 · 21/10/2017 16:52

You shouldn't have done damage carrying the bags, the twinges could just be stretched ligaments responding to the exertion, I sneezed earlier and doubled over with a sharp pain that would be the same. If the pain persists go see out of hours Dr to make sure is nothing else, hope you are ok xxxx
Having a private scan here too am just too impatient and as I was visibly showing at 8 weeks (which I know isn't truly possibly as uterus still in pelvis but my belly just shot out) I want to have the confidence all is ok, also had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks a few years ago and the early scan wasn't quite right dates wise so it had prepared me) x

Mumof3cheeky · 21/10/2017 16:56

Oh no I’m sorry to hear that. It could be completely completely unrelated tho and just a one of spotting. You should your EPU to hetvegen it checked out.
I only go on from what they usually say is that don’t stop your regular excercise/activity just because you are pregnant and I’m sure you do this often enough.
Those little things inside are well padded in there and is pretty difficult to harm them just from doing too much.
Please don’t blame yourself I think it’s very unlikely that you could have caused any damage!!
Let us know know how you get on xx

Mummyloves09 · 21/10/2017 17:29

I think it's the spotting that scared me the most. I have a scan on the 26th so we will see what will happen. Thank you for all the support

Orangesaretheonly · 21/10/2017 18:00

Thanks for all input on scan. My midwife appt is 7/11 and I’ll be 8+4 so going to book one for that weekend when I’ll be 9 weeks. It’s my first and I am super anxious about it so hoping it puts my mind at rest a little until 12 week scan which will be beginning of Dec.

Cookie1831 · 21/10/2017 18:21

mummy it is so scary I had it with my second but worked out fine in the end, if it does continue don't wait until 26th go to epau x

UnicornDust17 · 21/10/2017 18:56

@Oranges If I could afford it, I would definitely have an early scan. I had one with my DS1 due to a large bleed, and it was very reassuring. Because I also couldn't believe that I was pg (first time ever), it actually made it seem more real and meant I could get my head around it a bit more (iyswim?..

@Mummyloves09 spotting is horrible, I had it with DS1 a lot and have had it a lot so far over the past 6 weeks (so much so when I first went to the GP she wasn't convinced, so sent me home to 'see what happens' over the weekend Sad..) Fingers firmly crossed that it's nothing more than coincidence. x
