Ladies,

Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

I am 6 weeks today and although I have had wave of mild nausea today is the first day I have actually felt like I'm going to be sick (I wasn't - but had to abandon my basket and go and stand outside the supermarket)

Also a sudden huge aversion to a colleague's perfume which is awkward!

RedPanda25 · 19/09/2017 14:08

Haha! It is a weird feeling - I hate being sick and feeling sick all day but it's so reassuring to me too! Hope you get some sickness week 7!

Chipsahoy · 19/09/2017 14:14

7 weeks tomorrow and feel crazy. Nausea and tiredness. Tuesday is my cleaning day, so for I've eaten chips and sat on the sofa Blush
And most annoyed that I have to move in half an hr to collect dc from school.

No midwife contact yet, still waiting for an appointment. Not too concerned tbh, appointments always underwhelming this early on. Much better after 16 weeks when you get to hear the heartbeat!

Poppy012 · 19/09/2017 14:16

8 weeks today!
Still no sickness yet which I am pleased about and midwife said it's no worry that I don't have it either! Have another scan Friday so hope everything is good then 😁

Hurraahhnaptime · 19/09/2017 14:20

I'm not feeling sick either so far but I'm 5+1 too. So might be a bit early. Im feeling tired but am moving house next week and am also avoiding packing by proclaiming to my partner I'm too tired! I was lucky with my first and had quite an easy pregnancy. I just jinxed it though! 😷

Gyoza · 19/09/2017 14:23

I've started feeling a little bit sick the last couple of days but not sure if it's just in my head! Also getting headaches a lot.
Had to tell friend last night who was chasing up rsvps for her wedding abroad in April, if all goes ok I'll be 34 weeks then so thinking its unlikely I'll be able to go.

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 14:28

Ah hey naptime we are at the same stage. I'm guessing the tiredness will come!

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 14:28

I mean the sickness!!! Too tired to think straight!!!

readysetcake · 19/09/2017 14:29

Lack of sickness stories are reassuring, thanks! Guess I just figured I'd go the same way as my first. But seems I can throw that idea out the window.

Good luck with the move hurrah hopefully you haven't jinxed it...or if you have that sickness doesn't kick in after you've moved! And hope you're not sick on holiday ladypug that wouldn't be fun at all.

Good luck for your scan poppy hope it all goes well 😊

cautiousoptimist1 · 19/09/2017 15:12

I don't have sickness either but I have back pain already - it's higher up than where I'd expect too. Last time I had nausea but not much sickness which I was grateful for. I hate being sick! I also had an eczema flare up at this stage (odd because it's the only time I've ever had eczema), so far this pregnancy is completely different to my last one.

Yay for new thread, but am in need of a massive rant! Have still not got my booking in appointment (am 7 weeks today). Tried to ring midwives like last time, got told to ring GP. GP told me to come in and fill a form in and someone would be in touch. That was 2 weeks ago. Rang GP today who gave me the number for the community midwives. Their mailboxes are full (so can't leave a message) and aren't answering from either of the two offices I tried. Rang GP back who gave me a mobile number to try. Spoke to midwife who no longer works in the area who passed me onto the current community midwife. Have just left a message on HER voicemail asking if I could get my booking appointment confirmed.

I swear if I wasn't pregnant, there would be so much Wine right now

Dorotha · 19/09/2017 15:42

I've spent all day out with my son and now feeling drop dead tired! FIL is coming over for dinner and I don't know how to act normal when I can't eat proper food 🤢🤢 Also, he's coming to talk about helping us buy a new car and our number one priority is 3 seats in the back and enough space for me between two car seats.. yet we need to spell it out 'hypothetically' 🤓 I always sat at the back with my son as a baby (I don't drive) so I can't imagine not being there for the second one and my older one isn't old enough for front seat.

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 15:57

I've just started to feel seriously sick! That has to be in my mind, right?!

cautiousoptimist1 · 19/09/2017 16:09

Dorotha, could you use boot space as the logic. If it has enough boot space it should be ok for the space in the back. I'm not sure how old your LO is but could you say with all the stuff you need to transport you need to make sure the boot is bigger than your current car? Stuff to transport can be buggy, travel cot, high chair etc if he's still small or bikes, suitcases etc for family holiday if he's older.

Dorotha · 19/09/2017 16:19

I want to be honest. This car should serve us another 10 years (hopefully) and everyone knows we'll have another one eventually.. it's just about phrasing it in a way that doesn't betray the secret! :)

Having said that, my husband is now leaning towards the car which I didn't find particularly spacious at the back. Well clearly he's not the one crammed between two car seats with zero leg room 😏

cautiousoptimist1 · 19/09/2017 16:54

Maybe you need to wait and check it's a singleton first! What if you need space for 3 car seats! Wink

Omg no! Just imagine 😱
Twins run in both sides of the family but it's NOT happening.

MotherOfBoy · 19/09/2017 17:08

I didn't have any sickness or nausea at all last time so don't worry! Feeling it this time tho and bloating huge and sore boobs, tiredness... maybe it's cos I have a toddler too and am rundown I am gettin all the symptoms 😂 Have really good skin tho!

cautiousoptimist1 · 19/09/2017 17:28

Hehe sorry Dorotha!

Hello!

Newbie here, had my bfp on Sunday after just 2 months of ttc, so a bit of a shock as wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly. I think I'm about 4+2 so due around 25th May.

This our first, so I'm pretty much clueless about the whole thing! Have got my first appt with the midwife booked for 16th Oct which seems a bloody long way away. Feeling pretty good so far, if a little tired.

MrsF10917 · 19/09/2017 17:51

No sickeness or sore boobs either and I am 5+1 aswell. I do have a cramp / stich like feeling in my right side which worries me? Never ever thought I would feel this anxious but with it being first pregnancy I worry about every small niggle or things that are not happening that I thought would!

Hurraahhnaptime · 19/09/2017 18:27

MrsF10917 I wouldn't worry too much. I'm 5+1 and have had twinges for about a week now. I think it's probably the embryo implanting further into the uterus. That's my guess anyway!

Dorotha · 19/09/2017 18:38

Cramping, 'pulling' and even stabbing sensation is very moral at this stage as your uterus is changing and starting to grow. I remember those very well and it feels similar.

treehousemama · 19/09/2017 19:07

Newbie here too - did a test yesterday after three days of mild nausea and am shocked and thrilled it was positive! First child (hopefully!) but second pregnancy. We had a mmc six years ago and have had no luck since - never went through IVF or anything, kind of just waited to see if it happened naturally. After many years gave up, and then recently started on the adoption process (very early days, just sent in our registration of interest forms). And now - BFP! Incredible. I'm determined to stay positive and not let the worry creep in, despite our devastating mmc all those years ago. Rang GP who gave me the midwife number; they set me up with an appointment on October 2nd which feels like 2 months away, not 2 weeks!!! 6 weeks 5days today, due 10th May according to my app! Fingers crossed for lots of sticky babies for us all! xxx

Jaronior · 19/09/2017 19:15

Had my scan today- there was a fabulous little heartbeat racing away and I'm measuring at where I thought I was- 6w 5d. 7.9mm from crown to rump! So relieved, pleased, excited! Thank you for your support today on this thread xxx
