@RosesForBadgers what a
Lovely scan pic, looks clear to me but if it wasn't clear enough then I'm definitely drinking tonnes of water this week in prep for mine like PPs have said

Poppyandpeaches · 14/09/2017 19:27

roses, such a lovely scan! It's crazy how much bigger they get just from 8 weeks!
poppy, I'm so sorry, look after yourself Flowers

Poppyandpeaches · 15/09/2017 09:39

Thanks everyone, we are both doing fine. Just focussing on getting back to normal. We are so lucky that we already have a lovely little boy so we know it was just bad luck this time around.
Really hoping you all get good news at your scans! Look after those bumps and yourselves xx

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/09/2017 11:01

LivLemler · 15/09/2017 13:02

Very sorry to hear that poppy, you poor things.

LivLemler · 15/09/2017 13:06

I had my booking appointment this morning at 10+1, and there was a scan. I wasn't sure and wasn't able to find out by googling, so will put hospital info here in case it's of use to anyone else! I'll be having the baby at the Ulster Hospital, and had the booking appointment at Bangor Community Hospital, and there was indeed a scan.

Was very glad DH had come just in case! Although I hadn't drunk much, the pictures are a bit crap so not sure if that's why. But all is healthy and as it should be, so that's the main thing.

Mortifyingly, I nearly fainted when she did the blood tests! I've fainted before when giving blood, but never when it's just a test. Don't really get it, I'm not particularly squeamish. She couldn't find a vein, and the room was really warm and then when she finally got there, I nearly keeled over! How embarrassing. Luckily we got it all done with some different nurses, a smaller needle and a bed at the end of the appointment. So embarrassing though.

olicat · 15/09/2017 13:57

Liv, my DP had that when doing a blood test before, completely randomly! He had to have a lie down and a biscuit 😂 apparently it just sometimes happens. I think it probably happens more during pregnancy with all the hormones flying about/changes in blood pressure, etc.

Rose - forgot to say congrats on your scan!

harrietm87 · 15/09/2017 14:47

liv I had this at my booking appt too! I often faint with blood tests - I'm not at all squeamish, it just sometimes happens. I think it's because I have low blood pressure.

I'm living in London but from NI originally - hello!

LivLemler · 15/09/2017 15:21

Howdy harriet! I'm originally from Dublin, but I love it here.

Glad it's not just me! It was at peak snack time to avert nausea, and I have been feeling occasionally lightheaded so I guess pregnancy was only going to exacerbate the problem. But it was mortifying! Ended up with blood running down my arm onto my jeans. Will have to ask to lie down next time. Blush

MrsDneedsaB · 15/09/2017 17:22

liv so you actually passed out? Shock you poor thing!! I'm pretty sure this is a pregnancy thing as I was very light headed before my blood test on Monday, although thankfully just woozy and not as bad as you liv must've been horrific to see that blood dripping down Confused

I have a funny story sort of from my childhood, I had terrible tonsillitis and needed them removed. I HATED blood tests with a passion and would scream the hospital down, I made such a fuss that my white blood cells would stick together and they thought I had leukaemia BlushBlush needless to say that resulted in more blood tests and I wasn't until they found a way of drawing blood that I wasn't traumatised by that I was allowed my tonsillectomy. My poor mother I feel so bad about it now lol

MrsDneedsaB · 15/09/2017 17:24

*it wasn't.

I wish you could edit your posts 🤦🏼‍♀️

Also, the week 10 symptom holiday is over - sickness, dizziness, sore boobs and tiredness back to their previous best!

Parney · 15/09/2017 17:49

Oh @Poppy take care. You're both very brace and it's great you have one another.

@rose what a lovely scan! Very baby like now, which is crazy!! I'd say you are delighted and hope you're still feeling well.

@Liv I'm in Ireland!

12 weeks tomorrow but doesn't feel like a milestone and won't until my scan Monday! I've had an early scan but it was over 5weeks ago now.

Sam91TRS15 · 15/09/2017 17:55

liv, the only time I have fainted was in my last pregnancy. It was hot and the little room was quite crowded. I fainted in front of an old supervisor, my also pregnant colleague and some mortified undergrads. I rember feeling so sick and I woke up with supervisor holding my legs in the air and I thought I had just curled up in a ball because of feeling sick - didn't realise I had fainted! I got up and walked out as soon as I stood up cos I was so embarrassed!
But I don't think anybody thinks it is embarrassing, they are too busy making sure you are ok!
mrsd im finding I'm sick not because of morning sickness but because my digestive system has slowed down so much there is physically no room for food even though I'm starving! It's frustrating. Day 3 of lactulose and still no sign of it helping..

fitbitbore · 15/09/2017 21:16

@Sam91TRS15 ask th doctor for movicol it's much better than lactulose!

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 15/09/2017 21:23

We managed to move our early scan to tonight instead of Sunday, measuring slightly ahead and we could see the heartbeat. Completely smitten with our wee blob

Apologies if rather personal but I'm having serious issues at the moment because DH is missing the frequency with which we dtd in the 11months it took to conceive.
I have zero interest and he wants it all the time. I'm convinced that hormones are playing a part in making me just not want it, not to mention the tiredness, nausea etc. Supposedly some people have increased sex drive during pregnancy, I'm definitely the opposite so just wondered how it is for you all?

OP posts:
Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 16/09/2017 07:21

Same as you boat not interested in the slightest and for me DH is worried anything will happen (I had a wee bit of unexplained bleeding) so not really effecting us as neither of us are interested at this moment

Sam91TRS15 · 16/09/2017 08:05

fitbit I will speak to the doctor about getting that, I remember lactulose worked ok last time, but I wasn't this bad. I look 20 weeks pregnant already!
Yeah my sex drive is down too, I think after mmc I'm just to scared!

Thelostsock · 16/09/2017 08:06

Me too, completely uninterested. I've consoled DH with the stories of 2nd trimester insatiable sex drive ... just hoping it appears Grin

MrsDneedsaB · 16/09/2017 10:06

Mines at zero too, again scared due to MMC and also due to the bleeding I've been having. Which coincidentally I woke up to bright red in my pants and on my pjs again this morning, no pain so taking it easy.

DH says no sex is really hard atm as he seems to think I'm glowing and emitting some kind of crazy pheromones lol but completely understands why I don't want to. He's a real sweetheart.
