Oohh where?! Pm me!

ScarletSienna · 07/10/2017 07:28

If @MrsD, @Starshine and @Four were a triangle geographically, I’d be in the middle!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/10/2017 09:01

Sienna are you Odiham? You must be fairly rural/in a village, there's not that much in the triangle!
Cats what a coincidence! I'll look out for any ladies with a growing bump Smile remind me what number baby this is for you?

MissYeti glad you could have a talk to OH about the working away thing. Your compromise sounds very sensible, hope he agreed & took it well! What day is your scan?

DH did the night shift with DS last night - I went in with DD and actually got nearly a full night's sleep! I feel soooo much better for it. DS has 6 months to learn to sleep through before the next one arrives...don't think it's going to happen! I'm going to be ruined 😱

MissYeti · 07/10/2017 10:59

My scan is Thursday morning at 8.30!

ScarletSienna · 07/10/2017 11:23

I’m in Alton. So very near Odiham.

Anybody thinking of doing antenatal classes?

boatrace30 · 07/10/2017 12:11

I won't as it's no.2 for me but I'd highly recommend NCT. Mainly for he social aspect. I've made some lovely friends through my group.

OP posts:
ScarletSienna · 07/10/2017 12:15

It’s number two for me too but I had a tricky first pregnancy and a premature labour so haven’t really had the antenatal experience I expected and still feel an utter novice! I also had a precipitate labour so didn’t really experience that either! I’ll look into nct again-I dismissed it the first time due to the cost!

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/10/2017 12:15

I'm in north Wales! So not close to anyone.

Glad you had a chat with DP missyeti

scarlett we did the basic antenatal classes with DS and they weren't great, defo won't be doing them again but I think they can be good for first time parents for the basic parts.
I'm debating whether to pick up a 6 week pregnancy yoga class that do some hypnobirting? Not decided yet.

Glad u got a good night sleep four can make the world of difference.

MissYeti · 07/10/2017 12:44

Random question...is anyone moulting?? I'm losing more hair than normal and I thought pregnancy was supposed to make your hair grow lovely and stay in your head!!? 😭😭

SunbathingCats · 07/10/2017 13:00

Four it is number three for me.

Scarlet I'm doing an NCT course this time, mainly for the social aspect really because I found it so great last time and am really good friends with some of my group. It is expensive but I will have three under three so being able to sit down and chat in toddler groups to make friends might be hard, as I'll always be running off after the eldest two.

SunbathingCats · 07/10/2017 13:00

Are any of you in the Facebook group for this thread? Maybe we could arrange a local meet up through there at some point.

Thelostsock · 07/10/2017 13:25

@MissYeti I'm not sure if it's moulting or snapping but mine is definitely thinning and I'm getting lots of baby hairs everywhere. I'm still hiking out for the luscious locks we're promised!

ScarletSienna · 07/10/2017 13:35

My hair seems quite dry but I wondered if that’s due to heating starting to go on?

I’m going to look at local antenatal groups-we have a bit of time I guess.

What’s the Facebook Group?

MrsDneedsaB · 07/10/2017 13:37

The hair fall is ridiculous, I am getting the baby hairs too though. My hair is also greasy really really quickly!! If I wash it in the morning it can be greasy by the end of the day and that's weird for me.

I'm going to look into doing some classes but I'm not too sure about them yet. The idea of them is nice but I want to see if the ones on offer to me are any good, if that makes sense?

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/10/2017 16:59

MissYeti my scan is Thursday too - a bit later than yours. Will be thinking of you! Not moulting but my hair is getting manky quite quickly at the moment. It was lush during pg with my other 2 and I want to grow it out so hoping it gets nicer in the 2nd tri!

Ah Sienna we're in Alton quite a lot, we do a playgroup there on Wednesdays. There seems to be a fair bit going on there.

Cats number 3 for me too - I won't have 3 under 3 though, you're very brave!

I won't be doing any antenatal groups or anything. Haven't done with either of my others but went to every baby group going when my first was born and made lots of friends that way. Seemed to just acquire them with the second! Haven't got space or time for any more friends Grin I take DS to lots of playgroups now he's old enough to need them, so know lots of people to chat too. New one will just get dragged along!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/10/2017 16:59

Oh meant to ask, what's the Facebook group? Would like to be added!

Sam91TRS15 · 07/10/2017 17:15

I'm HP in Scotland so nowhere near anybody either! I went to antenatal classes first time round and I still see the girls from that regularly. I have moved now though so might do them again just to meet some people.
My hair is always falling out but it does seem to have gotten worse. Although my hair is also very damaged and along with natural fall out I have to cut bits off every now and then due to really awful knots.. All I can recommend is not going short if you have long hair now. I did last time and as i couldn't put my hair up in a bobble I was a state all the time!

boatrace30 · 07/10/2017 17:52

@MrsDneedsaB - we did the available classes and nct last time. In terms of learning what you need the NHS Ines were fine but didn't make any friends that way as people weren't interested. My DH suggested popping to the pub next door afterwards and everyone blanked us 😂. Whereas with nct people had clearly gone for that very reason! Everyone and every group is different though. My SIL had a rubbish nct experience.

FairfaxAikman · 07/10/2017 18:25

Can I be added to the FB group as well please

fitbitbore · 07/10/2017 18:45

I won't be doing antenatal classes they were awful last time. Really basic stuff you could learn in a leaflet. I'm in South Wales!!!
I'm thinking of starting pregnancy yoga next week!

ScarletSienna · 07/10/2017 19:17

Pregnancy yoga sounds a great idea. There’s someone who does it locally so I should have a look!

SunbathingCats · 07/10/2017 20:11

I really feel like the tiredness is kicking in and I seem to have a massive bump this evening, as if I am about six months in.

If you message LPMD she can add you to the Facebook group.

harrietm87 · 08/10/2017 10:27

I'm planning to do NCT - it's my first baby and we've just moved to a new area so hoping we can make some new friends! Does anyone who's done it before know when you need to sign up?

Some friends really scared me by saying we need to get our unborn baby on the waiting list for nurseries now (in London)! Has anyone else done this? I'm planning to go back to work Jan 2019.

twiddlerthefidget · 08/10/2017 10:48

I'm also in South Wales. I'm hoping to make some more friends as in my existing friendship group no-one has or plans to have children. I work full time (and will have to continue for financial reasons) and am a bit shy so I'm a bit worried about this.

twiddlerthefidget · 08/10/2017 10:52

@harriet87 My friends in London started looking very early with nurseries except one who didnt start looking until baby was already 6 months old and found somewhere ok (they were definitely the exception though). Although it is probably area dependent having a little look round early and then asking the ones you like about waiting lists probably couldn't hurt.
