Is anyone else finding time is absolutely flying by?? I have my scan next week and it's come up so quickly I can hardly believe it!

JammyC · 02/10/2017 13:51

Sounds like a few of us on the south coast then, I'm in Southampton too! Did you buy much? I'm gutted we no longer have baby Gap.

I'm feeling so much more naseuos this time than with DD and find I have to eat my way through it during the day. I eat breakfast at 6, snack around 10 at work, lunch at 12.30, snack around 3-4 then huge dinner. I'm on holiday at the moment and the all inclusive food is a blessing!

missyeti not for me! I'm seriously fed up waiting for everything to happen! Finally spoke to my mw and I'm doing booking in next week when I think I'll be just over 11wks. Hopefully scan will be the week after. In my February 14 mn group I was one of the ones due earlier in the month and this time I'm due at the very end of April so I guess I have to get used to waiting my turn!

MrsDneedsaB · 02/10/2017 14:15

@JammyC I didn't end up buying anything in the end, we found which pram we want to get but are going to wait until Christmas sales when we are a bit further along to actually purchase it. Southampton isn't too local but is one of the closer nice big shopping centres to us. I'm in north Hants but prefer shopping down south! We ended up going in Mothercare, Mamas and Papas, had lunch and then bailed half way through ikea cos I was dead! Fell asleep in the car on the way home lol 😂

I also found I was eating my way thru 1st trimester to beat nausea, now I can't finish a plate!

The first 10 weeks dragged for me and then once I had the booking in appointment everything seems to be flying, it'll start to drag again soon I think - helps that I'm busy at work though, time flies when you're not having fun it would appear 😂😂

Sam91TRS15 · 02/10/2017 14:20

I'm finding time flying just now. But that might be more that I'm working from home and procrastinating - so days go quicker cos I haven't done anything useful! I imagine 2nd trimester will fly by, and start to slow again once I get to the uncomfortable waddling stage! Only 10 days til my next scan!!
I are loads first trimester and definitely struggling to eat full meals now. Which I'm happy about as I just age non stop with DD.

MissYeti · 02/10/2017 15:02

I live nearby!! I'm closer to Brighton though

Thelostsock · 02/10/2017 15:55

I'm glad you said that about the sales @MrsDneedsaB, we're thinking the same so I'm not allowing myself to buy anything until after Christmas. Probably sensible but not as fun! Can still window shop

Thelostsock · 02/10/2017 15:57

I'm glad you said that about the sales @MrsDneedsaB, we're thinking the same so I'm not allowing myself to buy anything until after Christmas. Probably sensible but not as fun I suppose we can still window shop!

MrsDneedsaB · 02/10/2017 16:00

It's just that the pram is such a huge purchase and if god forbid anything were to happen, I can't just gift away a pram like I would be able to clothes etc. I'm hoping there will be better reductions at Christmas anywho!

We've settled on either the Mamas & Papas Sola or the BabyStyle Oyster, both are similar priced and similar design so will be happy with either - whichever is better priced nearer the time!

Sam91TRS15 · 02/10/2017 16:06

We just bought the mamas and Papas urbo2 which I think is quite similar to the sola, the one we got was half price last week and it's one of the very few that fit in my teeny tiny boot! I didn't have a buggy for DD since getting my smaller car so we got it now to get some extra use before baby comes

Parney · 02/10/2017 17:18

@missyeti time is flying. It's going so much quicker this time around for me anyway. I have my next scan in just over four weeks, when I'll be 19 weeks on the button. Crazy!

I have iCandy peach for DS, but these days I'm finding it a pain to lug around and end up throwing our mothercare stroller in the boot instead. DS will be 15 months when this one comes along so I need to research getting iCandy extra bits. Tempted by the outnabout tandem buggy.

Hope all of you are well. I thought I'd have more of a defined bump now but it's just extra squidge Confused no symptoms at all at the minute. Last time I booked a private scan around 16 weeks for reassurance as i felt so unpregnant, if that's a word. Trying to focus on the fact that all was well then and more than likely is now, before I book another! We don't have a detailed anomaly scan at 20 weeks here so I'm saving my next private one for something similar!

MrsDneedsaB · 02/10/2017 17:34

@Parney they don't do a detailed anomaly scan? What do they check for?

I will be having a private scan in 2/3 weeks to hopefully find out the gender, I'm going to Dubai in the beginning of November and really want to know before then so I can buy up the stock of one of their shops 🙈😂

Has anyone else received their scan report and risk ratios back yet? Got mine in the post today, they highlighted a line so I thought it was bad but it's ok, peanut is not at risk so yay!

Parney · 02/10/2017 22:15

MrsD It seems to be a growth check. If anything looks unusual you are referred for a detailed one. Thankfully the actual anomaly will be offered from December in my hospital but that doesn't help me now! I had one last time after I complained about irregular movement patterns so they can do them but it's not offered to all. I'm in Ireland. Hopefully you'll find out the sex! going to ask at my 20 week so, 4 weeks to go.

harrietm87 · 03/10/2017 07:07

@MrsDneedsaB I had a private nuchal scan through the clinic that's been treating my recurrent mcs. They did the bloods in advance so I had them on the day. DS risk was 1:11,625, and then

KBTR · 03/10/2017 07:39

Got my first scan today I’m approximately 12+4!!
Excited, nervous, all sorts of things rolled into one! Can’t wait to see our little one 😊

NickMyLipple · 03/10/2017 08:00

@KBTR - Yay! Hope it's all looking good!

gabrielle85 · 03/10/2017 08:14

Hi everyone I am due 3rd April ❤️

crispydumpling · 03/10/2017 11:09

I just got my screening for Downs/Edwards/Pataus and it’s all low risk 😊

We’re getting a new pram in the next couple of months, we need a double as DS is currently 7 months and at the moment we’ve got a Joie chrome which is only a single one. We’re going for the icandy orange, it’s expensive but comes with everything we need (apart from adapters to make it a double but they’re only £50), looks like it will last for a while and fits in my car boot.

MrsDneedsaB · 03/10/2017 15:01

Hope your scan goes/has gone well today @KBTR!

I love the iCandy pushchairs, love the Raspberry but I think it's out of my budget and out of stock everywhere. I also love the Bugaboos but £££££!

I came back as low risk for both tests but I'm a bit worried that my PAPP-A is below 0.5 😕, it's only 0.48 but still puts me at higher risk of antenatal conditions such as preeclampsia and reduced fetal growth

KBTR · 03/10/2017 17:31

Thanks @MrsDneedsaB and @NickMyLipple!

They’ve moved my due date to a few days earlier, making me 13 weeks.

Just got to wait for the results now for the nuchal transparency combined test.

Was great to see our little baby, moving around and seeing their heart beating 😊

Sam91TRS15 · 03/10/2017 17:44

That's great news your scan went well KBTR! Does all the info about results come in the one letter? I got my letter today saying low risk of downs but that is the only results I got?

MrsDneedsaB · 03/10/2017 18:28

@Sam91TRS15 I got a detailed report telling me exact figures of all my test results and then all the way at the bottom in bold it said "not at risk". It had details of the fetal length (CRL) the Nuchal Translucency (NT) my beta hCG level, my PAPP-A level and then the risk ratios of T21 and T13/18.
