Oh no that's disappointing for you, you'd think they'd be a little more sympathetic l! Hopefully it'll start to feel better soon and the paracetamol will be enough to take the edge off the pain

Sam91TRS15 · 28/09/2017 22:28

That is ridiculous nick, if you were at EPU how hard would it have been to slot you in for 5 mins to put your mind at ease..
I hope you start feeling better soon!

NickMyLipple · 29/09/2017 07:01

My EPU don't do self referrals and they only scan if you're at risk of ectopic pregnancy. They don't scan for any other symptoms at all. I've had a private scan so I'm fairly confident it's not ectopic but I suppose there's a small chance!

boatrace30 · 29/09/2017 07:51

Oh @NickMyLipple , that really is quite rubbish. How are you feeling today?

OP posts:
NickMyLipple · 29/09/2017 07:53

I'm okay, but I'm in so much discomfort when I walk!

Sitting still is grand though ;)

MrsDneedsaB · 29/09/2017 09:03

Your EPAU scan you for no other reason than ectopic? That's horrendous!
If your GP is concerned about the pain and sends you off for examination, in this stage of pregnancy EPAU are the only department that have the equipment to do safe testing and know what they're looking for.
My EPAU said to me that they're always more concerned with pain than bleeding as a bleed can just be a burst blood vessel but pain can signal more serious injury that we cannot see!
You poor thing @Nick how frustrating! Does a hot water bottle ease the pain at all?

Sam91TRS15 · 29/09/2017 10:37

It's really strange isnt it? I don't think the chance of ectopic is high enough to keep them busy all day??

NickMyLipple · 29/09/2017 11:03

Yeah, it's strange! Even if you have pain and bleeding they don't scan. They take blood from you on a daily basis for a few days and compare levels - must be horrific if you have a threatened miscarriage.

Thanks for all your well-wishes!

twiddlerthefidget · 29/09/2017 13:29

Hope you're managing ok nickmylipple. That sounds horrible. I've been getting shooting pains across my front if I walk too much, but nothing like what you're describing. I hope paracetamol is taking the edge off.

fitbitbore · 29/09/2017 15:01

@NickMyLipple is this your first??? I had horrendous ligament pain with my first it felt like My uterus was being slowly pulled out of me downwards!! It was grim!!!

This time round I've felt little dull aches but nothing like the first time round.

Sam91TRS15 · 29/09/2017 15:20

Does anyone feel like they have felt movements yet? I was sure I felt a movement so used my Doppler on the same spot and found the heartbeat straight away when usually I can't find it.

MrsDneedsaB · 29/09/2017 16:32

I haven't felt any movements yet, I got quite a good layer of blubber so not expecting to feel anything soon lol but I'm pretty sure last night whilst sat on the loo soz tmi I saw a little ripple across my stomach but I could have been seeing things 😂

boatrace30 · 29/09/2017 16:57

Not yet @Sam91TRS15 , but it's perfectly possible. I think I've just got a bit too much of a fat layer to feel anything yet

OP posts:
Sam91TRS15 · 29/09/2017 17:01

Haha I feel it right inside, most of my fat has moved up the way (which gives me preggo baby look.. No idea where the bump is going to go..). I started feeling ovulation pains after my MC so think I'm maybe a lot more sensitive to whats going on in there than I used to. I hope it's movements I'm feeling. Though I don't think I will mention to midwife's in fear of being told I'm being silly, I've seen a few posts where medical professionals say there is no way you can feel baby so early on

fitbitbore · 29/09/2017 20:49

I've defo felt Movements quite a few little butterfly flutters and sort of like swishes if that makes sense!

Sunshinesaz86 · 30/09/2017 08:07

How's everyone doing this weekend? Anyone had anymore scans this week? Or due soon?

My aversions to hot drinks has finally hit. I went off them with DS1 but could of sworn it was earlier in the pregnancy.
I was drinking a latte after eating my cereal and started heaving and was actually sick in my breakfast bowl then in the kitchen sink. (First time I've actually been sick) so no more hot drinks for me now.

Anyone else having food/drink issues?
No movements here sam apart from wind 😂!

nick I had the same as fitbit really bad stretchy/stich pains with my first so much so I was taking regular paracetamol when I told midwife she sent me for early scan. There was nothing wrong but at least I was checked out.
If your not happy or still experiencing pain definitely go back even to your gp don't let them fob you off! X

Sam91TRS15 · 30/09/2017 08:18

Yeah I know what you mean fitbit, mine started as like a pressure so I thought it was maybe bh but I've not had them before so who knows.
I can't wait for the baby movements are a little stronger that I can be 100% sure of them.
sunshine, I'm the opposite, I went of hot drinks very early on and I'm slowly getting back to tea, although I haven't tried coffee yet!

MrsDneedsaB · 30/09/2017 09:25

I've been very lucky and not really had many aversions, the biggest one I've had is that I've got lemon scented dish soap and now it just smells of the most disgusting chemicals...it's weird! Other than that all I'm going through now is horrible hip/groin muscle ache and the inability to eat more than half a plate of food!

Today I'm so excited, it's my birthday and I've managed to wangle a trip out of the hubs to Southampton to go baby shopping! Yay! Won't buy much but just need to get something to tide me over haha been itching to get stuff

MissYeti · 30/09/2017 09:43

mrsD happy birthday!!

starsshinebright · 30/09/2017 10:15

I've not really had any aversions either, sometimes I just don't fancy something but nothing major!

No feeling of movement here either, im 13+5 today.

Got a private scan in a few hours.. it'll be the last one I have I think. This is my 8th pregnancy after recurrent miscarriage so have been having scans weekly whether that be NHS or privately but I'm trying to weak myself off now I've gotten this far!

Thelostsock · 30/09/2017 10:26

Happy birthday @MrsDneedsaB, enjoy your shopping trip!

I've been off hot drinks for most of the pregnancy now, assumed it was more the milk than the heat though. Had a hot chocolate last night but only managed a few sips.

Hahaha @Sunshinesaz86 I was going to say the same, pretty sure my movements are wind Grin

Good lucky @starsshinebright, enjoy getting to see baby again

FourForYouGlenCoco · 30/09/2017 10:43

No movements here yet, but I'm only 10+5 so wouldn't be expecting any yet! Think I was about 17w with first and 15w with second. Another one who's had a few very kick-like wind incidents though Grin
I'm the same as you Sam, couldn't face hot drinks for ages, then got back onto tea and just now having my first coffee in nearly 2 months! Had an awful night with DS last night so breaking out the big guns.

Is anyone else absolutely STARVING all the time? I had such bad evening nausea I've not really eaten dinner since about 5w and had lost a few lbs...think I'm making up for it now; I literally can't seem to get full! I made egg breakfast muffins for the kids this morning and have eaten about half a dozen Blush and had to have emergency toast at 10pm last night.

Happy birthday mrsD! Shopping trip sounds fun, enjoy Smile

Good luck starshine, you've really been through it, you poor thing. Am sure all will be fine - have to say though, if I were you I'd probably book one last scan for 16-17w just to break up the wait for the 20w scan, which feels like forever! I'm not helping am I Grin

Sunshinesaz86 · 30/09/2017 11:03

Happy birthday mrs enjoy your shopping trip!

Good luck starshine pleased to hear things have been going well so far will keep my fingers crossed they continue to do so!

Haha four the appetite is real......just go with it. I have cereal in the morning but by 10.30-11 need toast or crumpet then lunch by 12.30-1ish but then can cope until tea time then. Didn't have a huge appetite at tea but feeling it's coming back!

thelo I never thought about milk? I'm ok with it on cereal? Could be hot milk tho I guess.

boatrace30 · 30/09/2017 11:30

Good luck @starsshinebright . What a tough time you've had. I struggled immensely with how long it took us to conceive. But can barely imagine what you've been through!

@MrsDneedsaB - my local shopping town is also Southampton! Have a great time!
