Good luck harriet

MrsDneedsaB · 27/09/2017 13:42

I'm overweight too @Fairfax (more than a little Blush) but I definitely have a bump, jeans wouldn't do up from 8 weeks but fit me perfectly everywhere else, I'm also losing body fat it would appear as my collar bones have started to make an appearance again! Haven't seen those in a while lol

@Aspenn17 I reaaally want the harmony but don't think I can justify the £399 especially not when my risk levels appear to be low...does this mean you'll find out what baby is? Or have you opted not to?

Good luck today @harrietm87 - hopefully you're done now and not been kept waiting in the hospital for ages like I was

FairfaxAikman · 27/09/2017 13:51

Mrs I’m more than a little too.** Are you getting referred to a metabolic clinic?

Aspenn17 · 27/09/2017 14:22

@MrsD It took me a while to decide if it was worth it, but a place local to us had a deal on where it included an early scan as well so we decided to go for it. Yes we opted in so we get to find out the gender when the results come back at 12 weeks!

Does anyone have a feeling if they have a boy or a girl? If you had to guess!

Good luck @harriet!

harrietm87 · 27/09/2017 15:14

Thanks for the messages! Scan went great - measuring 4 days ahead at 12+3 which isn't even possible!

Little one was wriggling so much. After 3 mcs I never thought I'd get this far, so just over the moon. Can't wait to start telling people - we've only told my mum so far as so worried we'd lose it, and DH's parents are going to be so happy!

MrsDneedsaB · 27/09/2017 15:18

@Fairfax I haven't been informed if I'm being referred, I'm being consultant lead due to illnesses anyway and so far virtually every member of staff other than the sonographer has not made one comment about my weight - I was expecting lectures galore!

@Aspenn17 oooh you're so lucky, I'm just itching to find out! I have a gut feeling it's a girl but i struggle to determine whether that's an actual gut feeling or wishful thinking 😂

crispydumpling · 27/09/2017 15:18

Scan day here today - all looking good and they put me forward to 13+1 so my EDD is now 3rd April 😊

Great scan pic crispy and glad yours went well harriet I hope your family is excited when you tell them. Especially after such a long wait.

We had a surprise with our first and I really want a surprise this time too. DP would like to find out. I'd love another boy or a girl but DP would like a girl so we've got one of each. I love the surprise of not knowing! Can't believe you'll be finding out soon then aspenn hoe exciting!

FairfaxAikman · 27/09/2017 17:32

I keep referring to ours as a girl, despite my “preference” being for a boy (no other reason than the usual stereotypes - I was/am a tomboy and can’t be doing with lipstick etc)

I say preference but that’s maybe the wrong word - leaning towards, perhaps.

Sam91TRS15 · 27/09/2017 18:28

I've been referring baby as a boy too, possibly cos DD and DSS want a boy. I'm not bothered either way but have a scan on the 12th to hopefully find out

MissYeti · 27/09/2017 19:41

Evening ladies! Good to see lots of positive things on the thread today!

Quick question. Following blood tests should the doctor contact me if anything is abnormal or is it my responsibility to book an appointment to find out? I'm kinda in the dark about it and it's a little unsettling!!

Sam91TRS15 · 27/09/2017 19:42

They will call if there is an issue. If everything is fine you won't heat anything

MissYeti · 27/09/2017 19:42

Oh and both me and the OH think it's a girl but the rest of the family think it'll be a boy. I do find myself referring to nugget as 'he' though

Aspenn17 · 27/09/2017 19:47

@MissYeti what Sam said! I asked the midwife after they took bloods at my booking appointment as I've had problems with my iron in the past and she said any problems they would call.

DH thinks a boy but I think it's a girl, which is weird because before I was preg I always thought we'd have boys.

MissYeti · 27/09/2017 20:06

Ah okay thank you! It threw me a bit cuz the nurse at the hospital (they couldnt get enough blood at the booking appointment) said my Dr would have the results in a day or two which made it seem like there would be a follow up!

harrietm87 · 27/09/2017 21:27

Here's my pic. I'm pretty sure it's a boy but not going to find out. Don't mind either way and would like a surprise!

I need to go to the doctor/midwife this morning. I can barely walk with back and abdominal pain. I really hope this isn't a sign of what's to come for the next 6 months 😣

Sam91TRS15 · 28/09/2017 08:34

Hopefully you get some help from them today and feel better soon! On the note of back pain, does anyone know what we can take or do other than have paracetamol for it? I know heat rub is a no no due to the ibuprofen in it

Thelostsock · 28/09/2017 08:39

@Sam91TRS15 I'm not really sure, I've been advised to get physio if mine gets worse. I've always found exercise has helped, but that's not so easy now, I think I'd fall asleep on the mat!

Thelostsock · 28/09/2017 08:41

@NickMyLipple good luck at Drs, might it be an infection rather than muscular?

NickMyLipple · 28/09/2017 08:55

I have no idea. It started on Friday last week and I described it as my uterus feeling enormous. Saturday and Sunday I had pain when walking in my lower abdomen, a shooting pain specifically when I walked which after the first few steps went away. Monday was much the same but it improved after rest and then Tuesday and yesterday it seemed worse, but also in my back/left hip. So currently I'm resting and have back pain on the lower left (which feels muscular) and then when I stand I have excruciating shooting pains in my lower left side at the front which almost makes me collapse with the pain.

I had a leuteal cyst (But can't remember what side) And I wonder if that has burst?

Thelostsock · 28/09/2017 09:06

Oh goodness that sounds really awful, poor you. Get yourself an appointment as soon as possible! Definitely doesn't sound like something you should put down to normal pregnancy pains

boatrace30 · 28/09/2017 20:59

Oh gosh, just caught up, how are you @NickMyLipple

OP posts:
NickMyLipple · 28/09/2017 21:10

I'm okay, just sore. Went to GP who said I needed to go to EPU. They said they wouldn't scan me and sent me home telling me to take paracetamol!

I have my 12 week scan on Thursday next week so unless I get much worse I need to wait it out Confused
