Morning.....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 11:30

Consider yourself decked in silver Cinnamon!

Lessons learned so far today:

  1. Those maternity trousers which were a tad uncomfortable three weeks ago, were not the best choice of attire for today, were they?
  1. Never, never, never read a thread about 4th degree tears whilst 33wks pregnant. No good can come of it.
DizzyBrummie · 28/03/2007 11:33

omg, I'd never heard of a 4th degree tear, now I'm worried

Tyakit · 28/03/2007 11:39

I read that thread last night too and went to bed feeling rather unsettled.

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 11:42

My best friend had a 4th degree tear with her first. Surgery straight after birth, 25 stitches. She did go on to have two more very straightforward deliveries with no tears. But my goodness, the tearing itself is bad enough, but the risk of double incontinence? Must put this out of mind.

Ina May Gaskin reckons in all her years of midwifery she has never seen a woman tear when kissing her partner during delivery. So maybe that's the answer. How romantic do you think I'll feel at that stage?

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 11:44

off to find the thread and worry myself sick . will make a change from the Ina May my friend has given me to quell the panic...

by the way, is everyone washing their new baby clothes/stuff? can't it just be applied straight from the packet? Speaking as one who wears clothes off the shelf...am I just being horribly lazy/mean?

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 11:45

I think a quick wash gets rid of excess dye/chemicals from the manufacturing process. Not a problem for our adult, thick rhino skin, but could be an irritant to brand new baby skin. Softens them up too.

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 11:54

lazy & mean it is then

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 11:55

I haven't washed mine either. I will though. At some point. I'll do it when I'm on maternity leave.

Not seen you for ages BB, all ok?

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:01

yep pretty much, thanks. been busy doing kitchen / ebay sniping / mat bag and was ashamed to show my face until I was updated on all the threads. so much goes on I find it difficult to keep up when I miss a couple of days. also really frustrating cos it seems irrelevant to answer people a week later and i'm really interested in some of the topics that have come up! can't wait for mat leave (may 1st) so I have more time for this important daily task...

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:07

Crikey, I know the feeling. I can't keep up at all. Mat leave starts on April 20th though so I can MN to my heart's content. I may have to ration it though or I will never leave the PC.

So you're an ebay sniper... I can't win anything atm because of you crafty lot!

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:13

download the sniper tool! its great fun! doesn't mean you'll definitely win though, just makes the countdown a lot more scary

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:14

and you can join Tam, JL & I with worrying about your morality at the same time. gives us a break from worrying about the baby.

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:19

I can't do it. I just can't. I've been gazumped too many times to do it to other people.

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:20

well, its free and so far I reckon its saved me around £50....

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:28

I am a good girl, untouched by immoral acts, pure as the driven snow.

Oh it would make sense to just do it, but I'm such a bloody goody two shoes it's keep me awake at night.

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:30

it'd

Cannot spell today.

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:33
BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 12:33

spelling is the tip of the iceberg....its next to godliness

cinnamontam · 28/03/2007 12:46

naughty is so much more fun SOH.

Join us....join us

cinnamontam · 28/03/2007 12:47

Hey BB - nice to see you

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:51

And you two are pregnant with little innocent beings? How could you set such a terrible example? You're setting your unborn children up for a life of crime. Mathilda of course will wear tweed and plaid for her whole life and carry out only kind, selfless acts.

ShowOfHands · 28/03/2007 12:53

And she'll meet the leather-wearing, nun-chuck wielding anti-Matilda in a fight between good and evil no doubt.

I read too much fantasy.

cinnamontam · 28/03/2007 12:57

I'll probably get shot for saying this but a little bit of naughty in my kid has to be more interesting in the long run doesn't it?

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 13:03

we've had a horrific couple of weeks at work - the day we successfully launched a 2 million pound project, the whole project team got made redundant...so after everyone working 100 hour weeks, instead of drinking champagne they were fighting for their jobs. Luckily I was left alone...not sure if pregnancy protected me or what...

BefnalBub · 28/03/2007 13:04

whoops, x-posted!! I think naughtiness skips a generation - i'm actually very virtuous and straight.
