Thanks for the new thread Essential. Maybe we'll get some babies arriving on this one! Grin

londonfeather · 24/07/2017 17:38

Thanks for starting a new one... can't believe the babies will be making an appearance soon! Half way through the NTC class and I think I'm more scared now that I was before I went!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 24/07/2017 17:54

fluffy give your midwife / delivery suite a call if you haven't already. I'd say they'd rather check you out to be 100% sure you're OK. How far gone are you now?

fluffywallow · 24/07/2017 18:48

Thanks essential!

I'm 33+3 cold - in hospital on the monitor at the moment and they'll check my waters in a bit. Don't think I'd have worried so much had it not felt so similar to when they went with my DD.

EssentialHummus · 24/07/2017 18:50

fluffy I'm glad you went in, sounds like the right thing for it.

Hoping everything is going well in hospital fluffy

GrumpySusan · 24/07/2017 19:55

Hope everything is alright Fluffy glad you went in. It's getting real!

Travelgeek · 24/07/2017 20:39

Thanks essential
Hope all is ok fluffy

fluffywallow · 24/07/2017 20:44

Thanks everyone, was a bit scary for a while - they were confident my waters hadn't gone (after an internal check) but had a few concerns about the heart trace...then I got off the bed and was bleeding. So they called in a consultant. After a bit of discussion they let me go thankfully. I feel exhausted now! Been told to take it easy and just keep an eye on things.

WhiteLily86 · 24/07/2017 21:40

Thanks for new thread, think the babies will be coming in this one!

Glad you are ok fluffy!

Currently lying with my feet on the wall trying to get swelling in ankles down. Anyone else got swelling? Not exactly much I can do when siting at a desk all day.

ArchieStar · 24/07/2017 22:42

Hi all!!

Just wanted to introduce myself Smile

Expecting DD2 due 29th September but my gut is telling me she'll be here earlier than that!

How are we all? Smile

calimommy · 25/07/2017 04:40

Hope all is well overnight fluffy.

Anyone feeling like they are dilating? LO has been v low for quite a while, I would hazard 'engaged', because it's exactly the same as my other two. Yesterday I started to get the same achey sensation in my cervix, I feel I might have started dilating. 33+3. I have the feeling I won't see my EDD, which frankly is fine by me 😂, but I don't want to go too early either! DS2 was 37+4 but 7lbs 7 so just fine weight wise. I'd be happy for a similar time frame 👍

fluffywallow · 25/07/2017 07:56

Thanks Cali feeling ok this morning just sore - in hindsight I think the bleeding was because of the internal exam, I feel a bit bruised!

I wouldn't be surprised about dilation especially as you've had children before....this baby is engaged way earlier than my first. Suppose your body is more supple this time Grin

Hi Archie!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 25/07/2017 09:24

Glad you are feeling OK fluffy - though I'm sorry the internal exam has left you feeling bruised. I had one 2 weeks ago following a small bleed and he was very gentle. Though they were just looking for signs of bleeding, and nothing was put inside me other than speculum (sorry, tmi). Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

calli - I have felt a little achey around cervix area on and off but haven't thought about it being because I'm dilating!! Not sure what I thought it was really. Baby likes to punch me down there sometimes, plus I have a horrible cough that is making my bump hurt. I guess I just thought it was a combination of the two. Though 2 weeks ago at 30 weeks I was 2/5 engaged so I suppose it's possible.
I have no problems with baby coming a little bit earlier!! DD came at 39+3 and I had quite a quick labour. Hoping for same again, maybe at 38 weeks!! That would be good!!

unhindered · 25/07/2017 09:27

Hi guys I haven't posted in here in a while but just had a bit of a catch up :) (I'm on the Facebook group a lot instead!) whitelily it sounds like you bought the joie i-Gemm when I did! Was great timing as it was out of stock at £100 then a week later in stock at £80 and I checked last week and the price had shot up to £117! Did you get the isofix base too?

Hope you are ok fluffy that must have been quite a scare 😔

oliversmummy26 · 25/07/2017 16:55

Just checking in on the new thread..
33+2 today and I think I've bought everything! Pushchair, car seat and bedside crib all coming this week...I'm very exicted!
Must pack my hospital bag...
Other than that, finishing work at 5.15pm on Thursday, can't wait!!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 25/07/2017 21:15

How are you now fluffy?

32 weeks tomorrow. Baby seems to have dropped. My bump looks lower (DH and DM agree) and I've had even more problems walking today - I look like I've just got off a horse after riding for 2 4hrs (never been on a horse in my life, but I'm trying to paint you a picture!)

I'm hoping this means baby will be nice and prompt, maybe a little early. Whenever baby comes I REALLY hope that I'm not stuck walking like this until delivery. Thank god I'm practically housebound!!

fluffywallow · 25/07/2017 22:09

Thanks unhindered and cold, I'm ok - think it shook me up a bit yesterday and had a good cry on dh earlier. I hadn't really prepared myself for dealing with the last 6 weeks or so but it's about now when things started to go wrong, and were missed, with my DD so I suppose I'm bound to be more anxious. Just got to keep on keeping on I guess.

Olivers - jealous you finish work this week! What a weight off your shoulders that'll be.

Cold - my bump is super low too. I grunt a lot (v attractive) and wince when she heads me in the nether regions!!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 25/07/2017 22:16

That's OK fluffy - I wince and swear (sometimes under my breath, but not always) when my little one decides to punch me in the cervix (or what feels like it)!

SayItIsntSo1 · 26/07/2017 07:58

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good week? I can't believe how close we probably are to some babies arriving!

I'm 31+2 today and it seems an age until my next mindwife appointment at 34wks and then consultant at 36wks but I guess after that babies arrival will be really close.

Is anyone that's having an ELCS getting it booked in at 36wks? My consultant told me that's my hospitals normal practice but I've had a week to massively over think about it.

I think it's just my anxiety rearing its head again Sad. I keep thinking what if baby decides to come early and I end up with a fast labour and VD (which I have to accept is possible), but no idea of the likelihood as DD was 40+4. Or what if they can't get me in until 40wks. This may sound horribly ungrateful but after 3 MCs I just can't wait for this pregnancy to be over.

SayItIsntSo1 · 26/07/2017 07:59

I should have said, I meant getting their ELCS date confirmed at 36wks, for 39wks. Not the actual ELCS at 36wks.

fluffywallow · 26/07/2017 09:25

Say I completely understand. Mine wanted to wait until 36 to book but I asked to get it booked at 32 and they were fine - if it's bothering you, which it would of with me too, why don't you call and explain? They might make an exception. Mention your anxiety and I wouldn't be surprised if they could do something for you.

Otherwise rest assured that from my vast research it does seem normal to be booked in at 36 weeks.

I'm a ball of anxiety too so let's just sit tight and get through these next few weeks. It'll be a distant memory soon enough once our babies are here.

SayItIsntSo1 · 26/07/2017 10:06

Thanks for replying Fluffy. I guess because I'm requesting an ELCS and don't have a 'physical' clinical need I sort of feel like I'm pushing my luck to try for earlier. Consultant seemed pretty happy to agree to it once he'd gone through with me at 36wks, but I can't shake the worry that I'm going to have some sort of battle on my hands or things won't go to plan.

oliversmummy26 · 26/07/2017 10:17

Say I've had my ELCS approved by consultant and she's sent their booking form through the the right departments, but I won't get my date until a few days before the date of the op Sad She has said it will be as close to 39 weeks as possible (which will be a Sunday, so op likely Monday 4th or Tuesday 5th September) but that I will have to keep my phone with me and wait for their call...I know I have to go in for a pre-op appointment though, so guessing I'll hear from them before the end of August as presumably pre-op could well be Friday 1st September...

It's such a pain as I would far rather know now and have the time to get everything properly organised...4th September is DS's first day back at school, so going to be tricky logistically. I'm kind of hoping baby decides to come a little early (though not too early as I don't want an end of August baby!)

I have growth scan and consultant appointment on Monday when I'll be 34 weeks, so going to ask if there's any chance of getting a date then..

Been having terrible back ache and diarrhea every morning this week...don't know if that might be sign of labour kicking off any time soon...still a bit early really and don't think baby is anywhere near engaged, I've a feeling he's still breech!

Lules · 26/07/2017 12:27

Yes it definitely is getting close. I did the tour of my hospital yesterday, although hopefully I will have moved before I have the baby. I felt quite panicky as it reminded me of last time. I hope this labour is more straightforward.

First day of maternity leave today. Got up to help get toddler ready for nursery and then went back to sleep. Lovely!
