Shit....my 20 month old went round MIL today and lifted up her top, pointed to her belly and said "baby, baby!!!". Way to give the game away!!

@stumblymonkey hope you're ok keep us updated.

pusscous · 21/07/2017 20:29

Hi all👋

I had my big fat positive on Tuesday, at 6 + 5, I had taken a test on the Friday, 6+1, which was very faint. My due date is either 8th March based on lmp or 11th due to cycle length. This will be baby 2 for us. It's taken 1.5 years to conceive this time, 3 years the first, and the last 8 months a few extremely early miscarriages (I ovulate late in my cycle and short lutetal phase makes it hard to maintain pregnancy. As such my tummy is not quite as flat as it was in the autumn and a few trousers already feel a bit snug, hopefully just some bloat caused by M & S hot cross buns.

I've been full of symptoms since 5w but was waiting to see what happened/ if worth testing. I'm nauseas most of the time, but I'm very sensitive to smells the worst make me vomit- our kitchen bin, I swear smells like ashtrays, bizarre as we don't smoke and I hate the cheap cheap cigarettes here, they smell like dirt- I've been walking around mentally accusing people of being filthy when they are just smokers!

I've been lurking here a week, waiting for a stronger positive, reading the thread and losing it and trying to remember my password for here, took me a while, my memory keeps slipping 🤣

BonjourMinou · 21/07/2017 20:38

Hi all, can I join in?

This will be baby 3 for me, all going well. I think I'm 6+2 today, EDD 14/03/18.

No symptoms yet, other than being mega gassy (though having read the thread I'm glad it's not just me!) and tired after about 3pm.
Hopefully no nausea is a good thing but it's making me nervous. Maybe it's still a little early yet, but with my last pregnancies I was feeling queasy even before I took a test!

whyhastherumgone · 21/07/2017 20:42

hi to all newbies :) there are loads of us now!

oh @stumblymonkeyagain i think that's a positive sign personally, our sonographer was very frank with us and said they would err on the side of caution if it looked non viable so i am keeping fingers and toes and eyes crossed for tou! when are you back again?

whyhastherumgone · 21/07/2017 21:03

sorry just seen you already posted when it is - sending you all the good luck vibes!

Gallopingfeet · 21/07/2017 21:09

Welcome and congratulations to the new people! Hope everything goes with out problem and you have beautiful babies ❤️

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 21/07/2017 21:25

i wish I'd made better notes of my symptoms in my last pregnancy - I thought I'd remember it perfectly but there are so many tiny details I can't confidently recall. I am sure I was nauseous by now (4+5) although I think i was probably 6w before I started actually throwing up. I'm not nauseous at all so far. I do have very sore boobs, which I don't recall being a thing at any point last time round. And every mild twinge in my womb terrifies me this time - I have no recollection of this happening at all last time! But it's entirely possible that none of this is new at all, and I've just forgotten.

TMI, but one thing I am certain of is the difference between my last pregnancy (when I wasn't single) when my libido crashed immediately and never really returned... and this one, when I am (generally happily, but in this respect inconveniently!) single! Sod's law. Grin

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 21/07/2017 21:28

... in spite of the womb-twinge terror, and the continuing to POAS to see the lines getting darker, I'm feeling weirdly more relaxed this time. Last time I spent a huge amount of time 'preparing for the worst', especially prior to dating scan / movements / viability age. This time, I'm much more content to believe - and celebrate - that I am pregnant until that changes. I feel like I wasted a lot of my last pregnancy being anxious, whereas the last half of it was really joyful. I'd like a greater proportion of joy this time!

LaSurprise · 21/07/2017 21:33

I've had a text from my midwife to give me my first appt! It's not for a while yet, 5 weeks away! I'll be 11 weeks 😬 That seems late for a first pregnancy no?

Excited1103 · 21/07/2017 21:37

That's far too late LaSurprise, they're supposed to do blood tests and weight before 10 weeks. Probably best if you call to ask for an earlier appointment.

LaSurprise · 21/07/2017 21:42

The original date she gave me was actually two days later, but I'm away that weekend so it got moved from the Saturday to the Thursday, I don't think they have any earlier dates at all :(

Google seemed to say between 8-12 weeks is okay for the booking appt, I guess as long as I don't miss my window for my 12 week scan that's the main thing right? 😬

FuzzyOwl · 21/07/2017 21:55

I think your 12 week scan can be up until 14 days @LaSurprise but I would ask your midwife to refer you for your scan before your booking in appointment if possible, to make sure you get to have it in the required timeframe.

LaSurprise · 21/07/2017 22:02

That's a great idea @FuzzyOwl

We are going to have the Harmony and Nuchal scan package from the FMC as well so hopefully the dates will all work out

SpreadTheLove · 21/07/2017 22:45

Hi ladies

Please may I join?

Suspect I'm one of the older ones on here. 42 soon to be 43. Found out two days ago that I'm pregnant and am in shock! Already have a DD who is nearly 4. Been trying to conceive number 2 for last 2 years. Had a MMC at 9 weeks last year, tried IVF for the first time in December. Much to my amazement, we got pregnant but then found out in Jan that it was ectopic. Another angel gone. Dealing with the ectopic was so stressful, we decided to be happy with our daughter. Totally gave up on the idea and in all honesty, it was a huge relief to just forget about it all.....

Then .... out of the blue (and seriously sorry TMI but having BD once the whole month which was a quickie in the back of the garden!), I'm pregnant!

Due date looks to be 28 March. Really scared but also so excited. Fighting hard to be positive and pray this one makes it.

Sending lots of positive vibes to all!

P.s. I have a viability scan booked for 6+5 ... wondering if that's going to be too early having read what some of you have been through..

Excited1103 · 21/07/2017 23:29

@LaSurprise - Maybe go to see your GP and request that they book the blood tests for you (or help you get an earlier appointment). The hospital booked my scan separately to the midwife, so you could try calling the ante-natal centre to ask for that too. Also, there could be more than one location for midwives; I had my booking in 1.5 miles away because they wanted to get my blood quickly for thyroid testing. But the next and subsequent appointments are due to be at the children centre nearby with a different midwife. Maybe they could swap stuff about for you so you get the dates you need.

Excited1103 · 21/07/2017 23:30

Welcome @Spreadthelove, and congratulations. I'm older too, 41 and this will hopefully be my first.

FuzzyOwl · 21/07/2017 23:36

Welcome and congratulations @SpreadTheLove I'm also due (I think) on 28 March as a result of a one off. Fingers crossed it all works out for you this time.

LaSurprise · 21/07/2017 23:54

Is there a reason they would need to do the blood tests earlier than 11 weeks? From what I've read 8-10 for booking appt is preferable but 8-12 is okay. I don't want to piss my midwife off already 😂

Enariva · 22/07/2017 06:44

I didn't have my bloods taken by the midwife at one of my first apts, they were taken at the hospital when I had my 12 week scan.
I think that was just the normal way it was done where I was living, and I didn't know any different. Moved to a new area now, I expect it will all be different.

SheSaidHeSaid · 22/07/2017 06:54

Hi to all the newbies!!

spread, I had a scan at 6+2 and we saw the flicker of a heartbeat. The 'baby' itself is too small at that stage to hear the heartbeat but just seeing it flicker on the screen was good enough for me.

NorthernBelly · 22/07/2017 07:01

Welcome @SpreadTheLove, I'm an older mum at 39. Got one DD who is 2 and had 4 miscarriages since. Got everything crossed for this time. The hospital have booked me in for an early scan at 6+6 on Monday so hoping it won't be too early.

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 22/07/2017 07:20

LaSurprise Last time around I had my '12 week' scan at 13+6 and the 20 week at 21+6 which were both within the allowed time.

I didn't book in until about 11 weeks because my midwife is a nightmare to get hold of

Welcome and congratulations to the newbies!

LaSurprise · 22/07/2017 08:00

A little bit of pink when I wiped this morning.

Of course it's the weekend so no epu available - so what, I just wait and see if it gets worse? No pain but seeing the pink is so scary.

The waiting and the uncertainty I am finding very very difficult

DancingUnicorn · 22/07/2017 08:05

Sorry lasurprise. Seeing pink is really stressful, I had it a few weeks ago. If it's pink and just when you wipe try to stay calm. It's probably nothing.

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 22/07/2017 08:13

Congrats and welcome Spreadthelove, We have the same EDD Smile

Oh LaSurprise I'm really sorry to hear that, Fingers crossed nothing else comes of it!
