We're currently in a 2 bedroom (pretty small) flat with 2DS, were planni g on selling asap and moving but thats been put on hold at the mo.

No sex here either and no desire for it, tbh no desire to even be within metres of my OH, pregnancy (alongside a few issues that have crept up) are making me want to be as far away from him as possible! I feel for him, I was like this towards end of pregnancy with my 2nd son, didn't want him near me but didn't want him to leave me be either!

whereareyousleep · 30/07/2017 13:17

Well I've caved and booked a scan for tomorrow was only £49 I feel so rough I'm starting to think it must be twins or I'm further on than I thought so just need the reassurance I think I should be 8 weeks tomorrow.

Stuckinstressville · 30/07/2017 13:36

Where I thought I was 4 weeks on thurs and lost about 1/4 pint of blood so Went to my epu and got to see a lovely 7week heartbeat. Did lose a twin it seems but that is another thing- the heartbeat was amazing!

WiIdfire · 30/07/2017 13:42

Had my booking appointment and have to go and see the obstetrician due to my BMI and the fact I had a ginormobaby last time. Any other fatties here to commiserate with me being 'high risk'?

Onceuponamama · 30/07/2017 13:44

Good luck for your scan whereareyousleep. I have another scan on Wednesday when I should be 8 weeks too.

Sorry to hear that stuckinstressville, happy you got to see a heartbeat though that's so special.

What's everyone's thoughts on ultrasounds? Is it safe to have a few during pregnancy or is anyone going to try and limit the number they have?

Excited1203 · 30/07/2017 13:53

£49 sounds cheap @whereareyousleep, who have you booked that through? I'm in Surrey/London and could only see a deal on a place all the way in Windsor (by which time we might as well pay the extra to have a scan here).

Best to just see them as looking out for you @Wildfire, how big was ginormobaby? I have some extra appointments in the list due to hypothyroidism, which to be honest I wish were sooner as I keep getting cold so I'm worried I'm undermedicated already. I'm also fat, but I have very big bones (6.75" wrists and I'm very short) so I always have nurses and doctors rechecking my stats several times because my BMI looks bigger than I am. Which it is, because they don't include bone density in their stats, which can add a whole stone even at my little height.

SheSaidHeSaid · 30/07/2017 14:01

I got a Groupon in Hertfordshire for a scan for £39 so there are some good deals out there occasionally. Luckily for me it was relatively local but for a good price I would travel too.

FuzzyOwl · 30/07/2017 14:06

I think scans are about £89 here and even then it is a bit of a drive to get to the closet place. My plan is to leave it until the 12 week one at hospital.

WiIdfire · 30/07/2017 14:23

@onceuponamama Ultrasounds are perfectly safe, so I'm not worried about how many I have. I will be having extra growth scans to keep an eye on this ones size.

@excited1203 My first baby was 11lb2, I'm hoping its not always true that second babys are bigger. I like your positive attitude that they are just looking out for me - that is true, I will make sure I appreciate that.

whereareyousleep · 30/07/2017 14:36

@excited it's just a local clinic to me in Yorkshire. Everywhere else was roughly £89. I will be consultant led as BMI high and have under active thyroid and osteoporosis although i had an easy pregnancy (not a good labour thought) last time with no issues so I don't think it will cause any problems this time.

Scoobygang7 · 30/07/2017 14:51

@WiIdfire I'll be consultant led too due to previous c-section and probably my mental health.

That's made it a bunch of fun as the nearest consultant units are just about an hour away in good traffic. Also as we've chosen a hospital out of our county as the one in county is known to be understaffed and not great, all my appointments and scans are going to be at the hospital.

If we'd chosen the one in Northumberland I could have had scans and other appointments at the hospital in our next town.

However my partner wants to try to make sure we get the best care and had the borders hospital recommended by a midwife (she did initially say home birth but I wouldn't be allowed due to my risk level)

ZylaB · 30/07/2017 15:39

Think I'm booking a scan for wed. I feel like my symptoms are disappearing after a good scan with a heartbeat last wed. This is what happened before and I can't wait until the week after for my next scan at hospital and I doubt EPU would see me with that as a reason. :(

Excited1203 · 30/07/2017 16:01

@Zyla - I'm sorry you're so scared, I hope it's just anxiety and nothing more.

@Wildfire - 11lb 2 WHAAAAAT!?!! Bloody hell, that's big alright!

Thanks @whereareyousleep, maybe I'll try searching again.

SheSaidHeSaid · 30/07/2017 16:42

I have spent all day in bed (apart from literally 2 hours when I went to the shops).

Is anyone else as tired as this? I feel exhausted.

OP posts:
Scoobygang7 · 30/07/2017 17:06

@SheSaidHeSaid you aren't alone, although no nap here as my little boy wouldn't let me go during his nap so I couldn't actually sleep.

I am hoping this improves once past 12 weeks. Got tons to do need to finished decorating which is going to take forever.

whereareyousleep · 30/07/2017 17:19

It does get better after 2nd trimester I felt great for middle 20 weeks or so

SheSaidHeSaid · 30/07/2017 17:30

Thank goodness!! Bring on week 13 Grin

Scoobygang7 · 30/07/2017 17:43

I can't remember feeling this tired with my little boy. However I wasn't chasing a 2.5 year old around.

FuzzyOwl · 30/07/2017 18:36

Oh @ZylaB. Hand hold and sending lots of positive vibes.

My second child was over a pound smaller than my first.

I don't seem to have as many symptoms today so I am back to worrying again. I hate this stage so much!

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:19

@ZylaB hand hold - so sorry you feel like this, it's hard to keep a positive grip when you've experienced something like that. I find myself squeezing my boobs pretty much all the time to check they're not sore and feeling panicky if I feel fine in myself. Really hope it's just anxiety - if it helps my symptoms really seem to fluctuate from one day to the next, and I haven't had any nausea or anything like that, just random gagging [v attractive]. What symptoms did you have? xx

Today I have rediscovered my appetite so ate pretty much everything and now have the worst bloating I have ever experienced. I look about six months pregnant. I'm also pretty convinced I've grown two extra chins in the last hour and my face is definitely rounder. I'm not sure what's better - not wanting to eat anything, or wanting to [and actually doing it] eat everything then feeling disgusting afterwards. Oh well. At least I ate some veg, finally.

Flatwhite31 · 30/07/2017 19:47

Hi everyone! Just catching up on everyone's posts. I've been singing with my choir at our choir leader's wedding today! I was worried about feeling awful today, but thankfully I'm having a good day. I went to bed at half 8 last night, and slept right through til my 6am alarm, which definitely helped. I also carb-ed up this morning, and had plenty of salty crisps to hand. I know it sounds crazy, but the actual singing helped as well. Singing does make you feel better physically, and I genuinely felt better after the performance! Maybe I'll have to sing my way through the first trimester! I'm just glad I was able to really enjoy the experience. My dress was definitely tighter than it used to be though, as my bloating is awful!
@ZylaB I'm finding that I get days of feeling awful, then days like today where I don't feel too bad. I do understand, though, after your previous experiences why you must be anxious, bless you. Definitely book a scan if you think it'll help.
To all ladies who will be consultant led, I am likely to be the same due to previous history of a heart arrhythmia called SVT. I'll find all that out at my booking appointment in ten days time.

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:56

Sounds like a fun day @FlatWhite31! Carbs are key I'm realising - I seem to get the sporadic retching if I'm hungry or haven't eaten enough or had enough water.

Anybody else already doing the hairband trick on their waistband?? Think I might give in and just put elasticated sweatpants on this evening!

Countdowntofour · 30/07/2017 20:31

I'm consultant led as I've had a ventouse birth, followed by two sections. Also got a higher bmi, pcos and diabetes. Yay 😑 I would love to just have normal mw apps.. I think I'm Gunna be there atleast monthly 😕

ZylaB · 30/07/2017 20:39

countdown im type 1 diabetic and had preeclampsia with my daughter, could easily be there every other week lol. My poor midwife with my daughter never had anything to do!

mamasiz · 30/07/2017 21:09

@whyhastherumgone I love the hairband trick! I've been doing it for a while but now think I might have to buy some larger clothes.

I survived moving day! Now laying in bed and so glad to be horizontal.
