Lucky new bean to get a brand new extension! We have a little room already though it has painting on the wall that says Johnny. My partner says we must call the baby Johnny, boy or girl, so it's one room less for him to paint.

Flatwhite31 · 29/07/2017 13:51

We are in a 2 bed flat. We'd like a house, but it's so expensive in our area, and to be honest our second bedroom is a lovely size for a nursery, so there isn't any good reason for us to move yet. I also can't be bothered! Lol.

Today's cravings - beans on toast (which I never normally eat!) and yum yums. Not together, you'll be glad to hear! Grin

Elbi · 29/07/2017 14:10

Excited123 Grin Why does your wall say Johnny? That's hilarious.

We're in a two bed that's been extended (by previous owners) as far as it will go, so that's what we're stuck with for now!

Today I really fancied cheese sticks dipped in chilli sauce. Word to the wise: awful. Don't do it.

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 14:23

The couple who lived here before us had a little boy, I suppose his name was Johnny. That or they were a bit odd.

Flatwhite31 · 29/07/2017 14:34

Lol @Elbi, I have to say that doesn't sound particularly appetising!

My Pregnancy+ app's topic today - 'Sex and Pregnancy'. I don't know about anyone else, but that's the last thing on my mind!

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 14:34

Actually, that room really needs painting. They had the little boy not long after they moved in and were only here about 3 years. It'd be even funnier if the original Johnny was one before them. Or it's the plot of a horror movie where couple moves into new house, gets pregnant almost immediately, each time a boy is born to take on the Johnny role... Dum-dum-duuuuuuuummmmm

OrangeCloud18 · 29/07/2017 15:21

Well after 2 days of being nauseous but not vomiting I have violently thrown up earlier... Then went for a nap and just woke up!

OnceUponaMama · 29/07/2017 15:46

@Excited1203 your Johnny wall post made me laugh in real life, so funny! I'm sorry to tell you though that horror movie plot 'the curse of the Johnny's' just made me think of condoms! Blush(apologies if I'm on a completely different wavelength to everyone else!)

'The baby room' for us is currently our storage room with all dp's tools and pc equipment in.
Another fun job to add to dp's list when the time comes! (It's heavy lifting- that's an acceptable excuse to duck out of it right?!)

Also how many weeks was everyone when they made their first baby purchase? I'm not going to get anything yet but it's so tempting... everything is so tiny and cute but I need to be sensible. Maybe after the 12 week scan?

Disclaimer I'm also very sorry if anyone has a child named Johnny....(girl or boy!)

Stuckinstressville · 29/07/2017 15:48

Flat am on pelvic rest so nnnooooooo dtd for us for the potential duration of the pregnancy! And to think he was complaining when ttc of his willy
Dropping off from overuse..... he will rue that comment!

OnceUponaMama · 29/07/2017 15:50

@Orangecloud18 that sounds awful you poor thing, look after yourself for the rest of the day! The nausea is getting worse each day for me, I'm so hoping it won't progress to sickness!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 29/07/2017 16:23

Buying things... I started buying things for this baby about 2 years ago 🙊 but only a few bits. Have definitely bought a few more bits since getting my BFP. I totally wouldn't have done last time but I'm enjoying it. I am being pointlessly cautious about maternity clothes, though - not doing that until after my 12w scan. The story I'm telling myself about that is that eventually a baby WILL wear these clothes, whereas if this pregnancy doesn't work out I may not need specifically winter maternity clothes ever, but really that's all bollocks and just narrative I'm fitting to a ridiculous and inconsistent set of instinctive behaviours. Grin

The extent of my 'preparing for the worst' with this pg is really only that I'm not telling DS until I'm much further along. Apart from that I'm feeling confident and allowing myself to enjoy all that is enjoyable.

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 16:26

Hope you aren't progressing to vomiting as well as nausea Orange.

I've had a lovely nap this afternoon. I would blame pregnancy fatigue but DD1 had me up at 5am so that is probably much more to do with it. Still I am currently enjoying lazy cuddles on my bed with my cat and listening to the rain.

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 16:26

I follow that logic as well Nell.

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 16:28

You poor thing @StuckInStressville. It's so early to be potentially off sex throughout. Giving up the booze and coffee is more than enough for me to handle. Can't say I'm feeling particularly randy most of the time right now as I'm falling asleep the moment I'm in bed, but we are trying to keep up some sort of sex life. I'm hoping things will perk up a bit in second trimester, an article suggested they might.

SheSaidHeSaid · 29/07/2017 16:36

We bought a new house about a year ago with the view to have kids in it and been trying and waiting ever since. There's always been one room we didn't bother doing anything with or buying new furniture for which will be the baby's room. Glad it's finally happening now so i can do something with that room now.

We've also had people going on about the fact we bought a house much bigger than we needed when there's just the 2 of us - we went from a 2 bed house to a 4 bed. Will be nice to be able to fill the house a bit more.

We are going to wait until after the 12 week scan re sex. I have read that sometimes you can bleed afterwards as your cervix is more sensitive, and I know I'd find that hard to cope with before the 12 week scan if it did happen. DH is being amazing, though, and we are having plenty of cuddles! In fact, he just came through and lay down in the bed with me for half an hour while we cuddled and talked about our holiday to Italy this summer Smile.

Countdowntofour · 29/07/2017 17:09

Totally off sex. I'm either exhausted or nauseous or headachey or crampy or constipated 😂 i never actually feel good. So it doesn't happen. Also when the symptoms die down abit and I see a heartbeat it may be a nicer idea.. maybe not though lol. I just want a bath and peace and quiet!

Scoobygang7 · 29/07/2017 17:13

After our issues I've put a ban on til we've had the scan. Got enough with my little boy climbing all over me.

mamasiz · 29/07/2017 17:29

Sex is the absolute last thing in my mind - I just want to be left in peace!

SheSaidHeSaid · 29/07/2017 17:35

I think I'm prob going to try to wait till after 12 weeks before getting dirty too as I'm also worried about bleeding. Not sure I could go through the stress and worry again.

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 17:40

@SheSaid - we had the same from family and friends. "Why are you getting a 4-bed house? If those are your offices then what are you putting in this old nursery? Etc. To be honest, I'd have thought our plan was rather obvious.

Scoobygang7 · 29/07/2017 17:56

@Excited1203 and @SheSaidHeSaid had you not bought bigger house I bet a pound to a penny, they would instead be questioning how small the home is you bought.

whyhastherumgone · 29/07/2017 17:59

I'm quite keen to keep up as much of a sex life as we can as i find its so easy to fall out of the habit, but oh my god do i feel disgusting at the moment. Bloated, tired, generally grim. So nowt much is happening here either! DH is great though, hasn't said a word - tbh i think he would be a bit scared to this early even though it's all perfectly safe! Hoping i wont feel so gross the whole time so things might pick up again!

whyhastherumgone · 29/07/2017 18:00

oh and for those talking about house size - we currently live in a flat - so i can already imagine the comments we will get when people find out!

Flatwhite31 · 29/07/2017 18:34

When I went off the pill earlier this year my sex drive got so much better (ideal when TTC! Think I tired my hubby out on our honeymoon LOL!). However, since falling pregnant it has nosedived, mainly because I feel sick and exhausted most of the day. My boobs are also very tender. I'm also just too cautious, as is DH! I am hoping our 12 week scan will go well, and that the current symptoms I have are at least a bit more settled by then.
Have been lying in bed most of this afternoon!
