Good evening all and welcome to the newcomers :)

The past 3 days I've worked it has taken all life outta me and I've got a brick wall round about 3 oclock! Nausea kicked in a little and boobs getting sore, glad symptoms are kicking in a bit :)

WiIdfire · 22/07/2017 19:42

I did NCT with my first, and we still meet up regularly. 5 out of 8 of us are on to our second baby this year too, so hopefully there will be company this mat leave too!

BonjourMinou · 22/07/2017 19:46

I never bothered with NCT. I met my mum friends through baby groups and a fb offshoot of another MN antenatal group I joined for baby 2. It's lovely, we're all so close.
Only thing I missed out on from NCT was advanced notice of NCT baby sales!

whereareyousleep · 22/07/2017 20:10

I didn't do any classes with my first to be honest they just weren't my cup of tea and I didn't regret it but I'm not a very sociable person.

I'm 6+5 and nausea has really kicked in today not being sick but feeling it have only eaten toast and weirdly lots of tomatoes but that's all I have fancied. It has been my 4 year olds party today so I'm shattered and feel rather rubbish now.

FuzzyOwl · 22/07/2017 20:45

Great news MrsLoz.

How are things now LaSurprise? Not sure if you know of the stats but 25% of women experience bleeding in the first trimester and you are more likely to go on and have a successful pregnancy than miscarry if you do.

I am considering doing NCT again. The content is pretty rubbish, but I did it with DD2 and made some really good friends so was well worth it from that point of view. With DD1 I just did the baby groups to meet people and it was so much more difficult.

TeaAndPjs · 22/07/2017 20:49

I never done any of the classes with either of mine, 1st time I was young and put off by the midwife and 2nd time round I just had a lot going on and opted out! Probs won't do any this time either as my youngest is a wild 1 and keeps me busy :)

LaSurprise · 22/07/2017 20:57

@FuzzyOwl had a little bit of brown discharge through the day but not in pain so hoping all okay... I think I will phone my GP when they open on Monday and ask to be referred to the EPU and just get things checked out a bit

FuzzyOwl · 22/07/2017 21:00

That sounds sensible @LaSurprise and I hope it puts your mind at rest.

I think the age range in my NCT group was 27 to 40.

LaSurprise · 22/07/2017 21:06

Thanks FuzzyOwl - very sweet of you to ask after me 😄

Fefifoefum · 22/07/2017 22:05

I'm hoping to do NCT, mainly for the friends, however, the nearest class is a 30 min drive away in a city, I live in a small seaside town, but we have 2 primary schools so feel like there should be a class closer!
Worried I'd be the small town outsider!
My friend has recently had a baby and said there's literally no baby classes, they do run a baby massage etc but they are all invite only by the health visitor Hmm
I'm feeling much better! But then also worried my sickness has all but gone!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 22/07/2017 22:55

Hope all is well tomorrow, LaSurprise.

Sounds like everyone's suffering a bit with the nausea today. Have felt absolutely wiped out all day, plus moderate nausea which has had me retreating to the sofa for a lie down on frequent occasions, much to the annoyance of DD! Trying to get some sleep now, but brain's going a mile a minute for some reason and refuses to calm down despite my tired bones Confused

mrskitty15 · 23/07/2017 07:56

Should I be concerned that I haven't had any Nauseau yet or just make the most of it?

SheSaidHeSaid · 23/07/2017 08:30

Make the most of it, not everyone gets it.

Can't remember the stats but it's something like 20% of expectant mums don't get it.

I don't have it a lot, but I'm still just under 7 weeks, so it's still got plenty of time to get worse, mines just a slight sicky feeling but not enough to actually be sick. Or certain smells make me feel worse but that's not often.

TeaAndPjs · 23/07/2017 08:34

I'm the same as shesaid just a little mauseous at times (yest was the worst) but not actually sick and for the most part I'm fine just appears, a bit like a dull ache, it's there but not bothering me

WiIdfire · 23/07/2017 08:35

@fedifoefum maybe you could start up a baby meetup locally? Just a weekly buggy walk or something. There will definitely be babies even if there aren't any groups. You literally just have to share on fb that you will be doing a buggy walk at 10 o'clock every wednesday for example and would like people to join you.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 23/07/2017 09:13

5 weeks today! That feels like it's taken forever to come around - feels like ages since my BFP.

I keep thinking I'm on the edge of proper nausea kicking in, but I've got no idea whether that's just me being very suggestible. Grin

We're going camping when I'm 7 weeks... not sure that's going to be the best plan ever, but we'll give it a go!

Flatwhite31 · 23/07/2017 09:42

Morning all! @mrskitty15 mine seems to vary day by day. I feel sick this morning, but didn't feel sick yesterday apart from in the evening. Going out for breakfast with a friend this morning, and I think she's going to rumble me due to my weird food aversions!

Excited1103 · 23/07/2017 10:00

@whitehair - I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and it's still feeling forever day to day.

I'm finding I'm more hungry than nauseous now. Cigarette smoke has been bad, but I've thankfully avoided smelling any for a couple of days. I seem to be getting hunger pangs that come on really quickly though. This morning I had 6 plain cheddar biscuits at about 7.30am to stave off sudden hunger until we have brunch, now I'm suddenly starving again and my partner is still sleeping despite delicate prodding. I'm so hungry I might eat a bit of him, just a little arm chunk.

FuzzyOwl · 23/07/2017 10:45

I know it is easy to say mrskitty but do try not to worry. I don't suffer from morning sickness either and for some reason, psychologically, it always makes me that the pregnancy isn't progressing properly. Whereas, from hundreds of insomniac nights spent readings up on it, the general belief is never having it is just as fine and normal as suffering really badly. The concern is when you go from lots of symptoms to none at all.

So after saying all that, I'm worrying again today that I don't really have any symptoms even though I am so early on that most women wouldn't usually expect them anyway! I absolutely hate the worry of pregnancy.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 23/07/2017 11:17

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I've just worked up the courage to dip my toe into an antenatal club! It's still early days (hence the nerves) but I'm officially late for AF so here I am. Currently 4 weeks, officially due on 31st March according to dates, however due to a previous operation it has been recommended that I have a c section at around 38 weeks so looking at the middle of March sometime.

It's my first, conceived on first month ttc so am in a permanent state of shock! Have been getting lots of nausea, tiredness and low back aches. I'm a bit concerned about the back aches, I've had them since about 8 dpo on and off almost daily. Anyone else had this?

LaSurprise · 23/07/2017 13:46

Well I have a scan at the epu booked for Tuesday morning - I'll be 6w5d so I'm hoping they will be able to confirm wee one is where it's meant to be and really hoping there will be a heartbeat. Until then all I can do is hope and wait 🙁

Excited1103 · 23/07/2017 13:49

Good luck on Tuesday @LaSurprise, hope you get to see the little one sitting snugly with no idea of the fuss around it.

Welcome @WaitingTillJuly17 and congratulations.

ChaoticKate · 23/07/2017 15:04

Does anyone have any tips for managing fatigue whilst driving? I routinely commute long distances and I'm finding I'm having to stop much more often because I'm exhausted. I've resorted to sugary sweets to try and stave off the tiredness but that doesn't really work and gives me tooth ache.

On a brighter note, two days until my appointment with the midwife and also my early scan. Excited!

DancingUnicorn · 23/07/2017 15:33

Had my booking appointment today. Same midwife as last time, so already know she's lovely. Nothing of any excitement to report. I'm low risk, so all pretty quick. Still feels nice to be in the system.

Flatwhite31 · 23/07/2017 15:55

Aww glad you know she's nice @DancingUnicorn. Mine isn't until August 9th, which feels ages away!
I'm afraid I can't advise on the driving @ChaoticKate, as I don't have to drive long distances. I find eating regularly helps a little. Am trying to be healthy where I can! Have had an apple and salted popcorn as snacks today instead of crisps and chocolate!
