Boring I can't believe he asked you outright Shock! Especially in front of people.

I'm another one who is emotional all the time (although to be fair, I'm sensitive at the best of times!). I do think the hormones are making me feel more weepy though.

I had a private scan yesterday and all is well. We saw a HB and I am 7+3 (new EDD of 21st Feb, although that's a bit irrelevant). We both felt really shitty though as the poor lady in front of us had miscarried. It was apparently her second miscarriage and she was in a really bad state. We both felt so guilty having a healthy scan straight after Sad.

Loxy4527 · 08/07/2017 09:29

Oh boring I know how you feel. About 3 weeks ago I was going out clubbing with work, it's a very small team of about 8 and my boss drinks like a fish. I said I wasn't drinking for health reasons (which wasn't untrue, I decided to quit drinking before we found out I was pregnant due to stress) and my boss asked me outright three times in front of my colleagues "so are you pregnant then?" I had to deny it and eventually told him if he asked me one more time I'd go home. I was pretty close to crying actually as it just set me off thinking about how terrified I was of this turning into another MC.

After that I had to write him a lengthy email explaining that I was trying but had been unsuccessful and how insensitive it was to ask me that -didn't say whether or not I was. He was actually very disappointed in himself once he realised what he'd done and apologised to me. We're on good terms now.

Still, it's gonna be crap when I tell everyone at work and they'll be all "hey, why did you lie?"

Ugh.

RainyDayBear · 08/07/2017 09:44

Sorry have been quiet on here, hideous week with morning sickness, work is busy and DD has been poorly! Glad to hear about the good scans, I wish we were having an early reassurance one now!

boring FIL bluntly asked me too. We fessed up, but I did think it was slightly rude.

I'm definitely miscarrying. It's just not fair. Good luck to you all

Scandalicity · 08/07/2017 10:13

So sorry choochoo Flowers

Scandalicity · 08/07/2017 10:15

Does anyone else have the worlds biggest cravings for carbs? I'm really struggling with nausea & indigestion and things like bread & plain crisps are the only thing I'm wanting / can manage to eat!! MIL has assured me this all goes away after 12 weeks, 3.5 weeks to go!!!

lookatthemoon · 08/07/2017 10:28

Loxy - I had a similar situation with my first pregnancy when I stopped going for Fri night drinks and every Friday afternoon people would just say 'pregnant' and laugh. They thought it was funny (nobody was being mean in fairness). When I did announce my pregnancy I made a point of explaining to everyone how inappropriate it was. Everyone seemed to get the message but it still annoys me. If I was a man I wouldn't have to put up with that nonsense.

So if people ask why you lied just have a speech prepared 😜

lookatthemoon · 08/07/2017 10:29

So sorry Choo - look after yourself. It is so unfair! Flowers

cherryontopp · 08/07/2017 10:34

Hi ladies Grin can I tag along?

Im 8 weeks 4 days with my first. I had IVF in May after 2 years of trying. A very long awaited pregnancy, very anxious -cant believe that this might happen!

TriJo · 08/07/2017 11:14

So sorry choo Flowers

Thattwatoverthere · 08/07/2017 12:25

So sorry to hear that choo. Look after yourself.

My bloat has gone so I'm no longer 'showing' which is nice because I'm not uncomfortable any more but also sad because I liked having my little bump even if it was made of air. And now I'm worrying that I've lost a symptom. Also when I sneeze or cough I get a sharp pain where I imagine my ovaries are (embarrassingly I have no idea where they actually are) that's scaring me a bit.

And yes to the carbs, a cheese cob has been my saviour in the more pukey feeling moments,

babayagga · 08/07/2017 13:58

loxy - I find your boss's behaviour quite shocking! Nobody owes people like that an explanation. I had to tell my boss back in week 7 because I was too nauseous to work; luckily, it's a woman (as are most people where I work), so there has been a lot of understanding and confidentiality. I guess I'm very fortunate! But it should be like this for everyone.

Loxy4527 · 08/07/2017 15:22

So sorry choo that's awful Sad look after yourself xxx

Welcome cherry! Congratulations Smile

baba you're right, it should be like that for everyone but hey ho. DH was pretty mad. I'm kinda resigned to the fact that I have to make the best of it and educate him on how to be a good boss, for the sake of future female employees (only one newbie at the moment, I don't want her to be put off by his behaviour)

Some good news - my scan went great! Measuring perfectly, she estimated 8+2 rather than 8+5 which makes perfect sense as I was sure I ovulated a couple of days later than traditional dating estimates. Lovely strong heartbeat and nothing to worry about. Phew! Had a big old cry in the car, DH was impressed that I kept it all in - I didn't want to jiggle my belly or she'd keep having to find it again!

bluechameleon · 08/07/2017 15:35

I'm in team cry-at-nothing too. I was welling up watching the carnival go past this morning!

RainyDayBear · 08/07/2017 18:29

choo I'm so sorry, look after yourself Flowers

Yes to the carbs - I am essentially living on DP's super noodles, I never normally eat anything like that, but they are sooooo good at the moment!

SofiePendragon · 08/07/2017 19:56

Choo I'm so sorry. It's so unfair. I hope you can find some answers as to why this keeps happening and find a solution. Flowers

GingerRogers84 · 08/07/2017 21:19

@RainyDayBear OMG, I really fancy some super noodles now! 😂

@choochooo very sorry Flowers

ELFR · 09/07/2017 13:20

We're on holiday this weekend. Our hotel has given us a complimentary bottle of fizz. Yeah, cheers for that.....

Toomanydogs · 09/07/2017 13:46

Thinking I might need to speak to my doctor tomorrow, sickness has been getting progressively worse and the most I'm keeping down over a whole day is two or three cheddars or ritz crackers, not keeping down my folic acid/ vit d and obviously not getting any naturally through food! Can keep some fluids down but not a huge amount, and have lost over a stone in the last 4-5 weeks so hoping there's something they can do to help.

halloumisandwich · 09/07/2017 13:53

So sorry choo, it's the worst. There's a great board on the conception page for ttc after miscarriage when you're ready.
I've been on a hen do this weekend, so drinking soda water and pretending it's g&t all weekend, luckily i'm feeling rough enough that feigning a hangover wasn't an issue! I hope the next few weeks go quickly so we can all get safely past the 12 week mark..

OrangeCloud18 · 09/07/2017 13:58

Oh no toomanydogs I hope your GP will be able to help and that you will feel better soon!
I have constant nausea since Thursday but have not thrown up yet... it is getting worse and worse though and I am really forcing myself to eat. The worse part is that I am so hungry and I usually love to eat but really don't want to at the moment...

Loxy4527 · 09/07/2017 15:13

toomanydogs yeesh, that sounds horrible. I thought I was having a bad day today but sounds like yours is much worse. After a totally fine day of eating and socialising yesterday, today I feel like I've been run over. Constant nausea, I've kept down two very small meals only by sleeping right after. No idea what excuse I'll use at work if this keeps up tomorrow. Bring on next month please!

Pidgythe2nd · 09/07/2017 17:36

Definitely head to the doctor toomany. There are anti emetics they can prescribe. Ondansetron (spelling?) worked for me last pregnancy but there are a few I think.

I too feel like I've been run over. I'm just so tired and the constant nausea is draining. Finding it hard to drink enough which isn't helping. I've only been sick 3 times so far but it's always there. DH wasn't being overly sympathetic until I was sick in the kitchen bin. The smell of the dishwasher set me off!! Fish last night and we hadn't put it on. Sad
I think I'll feel better if it cools down.

Finally got my booking in appointment tomorrow. I'm 10 weeks today according to my dates.
Looking forward to making it official!

RainyDayBear · 09/07/2017 19:46

toomany That sounds awful, hopefully the GP will prescribe you with something as you might be at risk of dehydration. My sickness was quite bad last time, I found that I could keep fluids down like you, so kept having ice pops and orange juice just to make sure I was getting some sugar into me to keep me going.

I've been pretty ropey this weekend. Can now report back that pot noodles no longer agree with baby and don't taste nearly as nice on the way back up. The heat isn't helping either, normally I love heat, but I am really struggling with it - I remember this happening last time round too in the early days!

Hello everyone, can I join you? Smile

I'm 7+1, due 24th Feb with my second DC. My ds will be 2 at the end of this month. So far this pregnancy feels different to my first, lots of nausea which I didn't have last time. Booking in apt on Friday xx
