My breasts not breaks lol!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 14/08/2017 18:59

Emwah - I don't have the boob problem (small boobs that didn't grow at all in my first pregnancy!) but I have had shortness of breath both times. I think it's normal in pregnancy as your body needs more oxygen and certain hormone changes affect your breathing/respiratory system. If it seems really bad though see a doctor. It may be the effect of massive boobs Grin.

Loxy4527 · 14/08/2017 21:08

Coffee I've been taking the multivitamins and I'll go back on them later I'm sure but I just forgot that they're not mandatory anymore :) going to take a break and see if I can get back to eating nutritious food again without feeling sick

babayagga · 14/08/2017 21:33

emwah - I have also noticed shortness of breath lately, though mine is not accompanied by chest pain. And my breasts have hardly increased in size, so I rather suspected it had to do with blood circulation and the extra work the heart had to do... but what do I know!

pretzelpieces · 14/08/2017 21:54

erica most of my maternity stuff is from asos and new look. Quite enjoying wearing it again, actually, there are some favourite things that I'd forgotten about.

I'm just taking vitamin d now, I was on high dose folic acid for the first trimester as my dad had a cleft palate.

Yy to feeling breathless. I have got low blood pressure and just got them to take blood to check my iron today, as that can make it worse.

16 week check was today and heard the lovely heartbeat galloping away. Feeling definite swimmy movements now. Early GTT came back negative, hooray, will have to go for another at 28 weeks though as I had gestational diabetes last time.

Emwahs · 14/08/2017 22:20

coffee and babyagga my boobs were on the larger size to start with even though I am on the petite size I have gone from a 34c to a 36DD/E think I will see how I go next couple of days it just constantly feels like I have a lead weight on chest, I am also asthmatic which adds to the problem. The actually chest pain seems to relish not occur first thing in morning when I am trying to catch my breath.

Emwahs · 14/08/2017 22:22

I really need to check my messages before auto correct takes hold! It was meant to say I really only occurs first thing in the morning.

EmilyK83 · 15/08/2017 06:57

Awww pretzel hearing that heartbeat must have been amazing! Do they routinely check heartbeat at the 16 week appointment? Only asking because mine is 3 days before our wedding, and I'd love to have that reassurance before we announce it at the wedding!

I'm still in the folic acid, hadn't realised you could stop at 12 weeks! Run out of vitamin D though, so need to restock today...

Was up at 5am today, just couldn't sleep! Used the time wisely to catch up on last night's CBB get some work done...

pickledprogress · 15/08/2017 07:21

Hi all - I have my 16 week app on Friday - last time my midwife said take folic acid until then - and she'll remind me to stop! Stopped pregnancy tablets ages ago just for fa and vit d as felt so rough - still been dicey though!!

I was told I would hear heartbeat - but think it all depends on the midwife :)

Am totally in mat clothes now as they don't put pressure on the tum! Have some pants arriving from new look and Asda to try - fingers crossed as I'm not a skinny mini so have limited choice!

TriJo · 15/08/2017 09:13

Have my 16 week appointment on Thursday - 2 weeks early because my midwife is away the last 2 weeks in August, I'm only 14+1 now. Still on the folic acid here as well, I figure that continuing to take a multivitamin is no harm anyway.

Totally in maternity jeans since 12 weeks here. Dat comfort.

Have been getting dizzy quite a bit in the last couple of weeks - had to sit down for ten minutes after Parkrun on Saturday morning after running a personal worst time, similar when cooking or if I get stuck standing on public transport. Very frustrating :(

EricaSeas · 15/08/2017 11:41

I’ve carried on with the Pregnacare so far, I figure it can’t do any harm and thankfully I haven’t had any adverse effects from it.

I’m going to have a look at Asos today… I feel a shopping spree coming on! Really need to get some new clothes for DTs too but I can’t bring myself to go out to the shops so I think there’ll be a lot of packages arriving at our door, and possibly all being sent back if they don’t fit too! I didn’t actually know New Look do maternity, I’ll have a look at that!

Sorry to hear you’re suffering with insomnia too Coffee, it’s so frustrating. I go through the whole day thinking I could drop off to sleep at any moment then night falls and I’m wide awake and restless.

I’m in the same camp as you with small boobs too Coffee, with DTs they grew quite a lot in the third trimester and I got loads of stretch marks but not much has happened to them yet and certainly not enough to make me breathless. Nips are huge and dark though.

So lovely to hear the heartbeat pretzel, makes me really look forward to appointments. A friend actually bought an at home doppler, but I think I might become a bit obsessed if I had one.

I’ve had a bit of dizziness and feeling woozy after exercise (Parkrunners here too!) too TriJo, it’s really good to keep it up if you can though. Could you be a bit anaemic?

lookatthemoon · 15/08/2017 12:28

*waves to fellow parkrunners Smile
I've just started back running proper 5ks after taking most of first tri off - am obvs much slower but my biggest issue is making it through a run without needing a wee! I also signed up for a 5k in 4 weeks so I'm not sure how that will go ...

I am also a fan of Asos maternity! Advice though - I found that some of the stuff can fit on the bigger side.

TriJo · 15/08/2017 12:55

Erica I'm not sure! There's iron in my multivitamin, but I'm feeling so exhausted that there's a chance that my iron could be low.

Never tried Asos maternity clothes last time, will have a look though! I'd like to get a couple of dresses for wearing with leggings for work.

f1sher · 15/08/2017 15:43

I'm still taking my Pregnacare supplements (they've never made me feel sick, fortunately) - at my booking in appointment, my midwife said I could take these all the way through, but might double check that at my 16wk appointment.

I've just arrived home to my NT bloods letter - low risk all round. I've been so anxious that something would be wrong that I've been holding back telling people, but feel like I'm on a cloud now!

EmilyK83 · 15/08/2017 16:05

Ahhhh f1sher that's great news, so happy for you!!

Phoned my MW earlier, apparently they don't scan for heartbeat as standard at 16 weeks but going to see if I can persuade her to on the day...

Melody85 · 15/08/2017 16:30

Hello ladies!
I'm a parkrunner too (with a slower time every week at the moment!!).. Although over the last week or so, at the gym aswell, I've definitely been getting some judgemental looks.. have any of you ladies noticed this? I find it really off putting & a bit rude!!
On hearing the heartbeat, do any of you have a Doppler? I know they have really bad press but my sister in law bought me one & I actually find it quite reassuring. At first I didn't use it as thought it would make me crazy if I didn't hear anything, but actually it's great! It's easy to find for me - he seems to be in a similar place all the times I've tried! Although I do limit myself to only using it a couple of times a week so I don't become obsessive!

Emwahs · 15/08/2017 17:04

melody my sister who is also pregnant with third (mine is my first) has a home doppler and has lent it me for a week. I find it reassuring as well but I think I would panic if I could not find a heartbeat so I am giving it back to her tomorrow. If I want to hear it I know I can just nip around to hers!

I have brought a body pillow to help my sleeping positioning today and hopefully it will put and end to the side rib pain! Fingers crossed

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 15/08/2017 17:10

Omg don't get me started about exercise. I'm supposed to be doing the Great North Run in just under 4 weeks and I'm terrified. I'm a slow runner at the best of times, but now I struggle to run more than 10k (the longest training run I've done is 12k and I honestly thought I would die during the last half hour. It took me over an hour and a half to do that!). My charity (Tommy's) have been fab and say they're just grateful for my support and are happy if I end up walking it, but some of my friends have made comments that make me feel a bit rubbish. I don't know why I let it bother me Sad.

Great news about the various scans and screening results. Aww that's so exciting that some of you are having your 16 week appointments! I really hope you all hear heartbeats. Last time the midwife said to me that they usually hear a heartbeat, but if they can't it's not something to worry about (e.g. it may be harder to hear because of where the placenta is).

Melody - do you know that you're having a boy then? Is anyone else finding out anytime soon? How exciting!

I had my dating scan yesterday, which went well (PHEW). I'm just waiting on the screening results. Hopefully all is well.

GingerRogers84 · 15/08/2017 21:08

I also got a new pregnancy pillow! Getting comfy in bed has been a real issue for the last couple of nights. CANNOT WAIT to use it!
Has anyone found that they have to be careful when they get up or move around now? I'm quite a busy bee and move everywhere quite energetically but now if I do that I get stretchy pains around the old uterus! I feel a million years old right now! Grin

EmilyK83 · 15/08/2017 21:51

I'm with you there Ginger - standing up too suddenly earlier when the doorbell rang set mine off!

Maybe tmi, but anyone suffering really badly from trapped wind at the moment, or just me?!

EricaSeas · 16/08/2017 09:46

I’ve totally given up worrying about times etc for running but think it’s really good to keep it up as much as possible. I did parkrun up to 25 weeks with DTs so hope I’ll at least get to that point again this time ‘round. I did get some funny looks and discouraging comments Melody but I think you just have to try to ignore them provided you haven’t been medically advised not to exercise. Most people don’t know what they’re talking about. A white van man did shout “Faster, fatty!” at me out of his window the other day, which wasn’t great…

I’d go for it with the GNR coffee, just give yourself a pass to walk as much as you like. It’s a lovely course with loads of support which will help get you ‘round.

Great news on the bloods F1sher! Hoping to get mine back this week.

EmilyK83 · 16/08/2017 10:07

Coffee, is it worth getting a baby on board badge for the GNR? My sister ran it last year and said it was the toughest rage she had run - harder than the London Marathon because of the inclines, the heat and the chafing! At least with a badge you could show why you may be walking, and it'll mean that others around you will know and be there even more for support...

Melody85 · 16/08/2017 10:38

coffee no I don't know yet, just have taken to calling it a him, no idea why!! ha I think it might be because I'd love a girl so am preparing myself for a boy (I realise that sounds mean - of course I'd be happy either way, just always imagined myself with girls!)
Also amazing work on the GNR - I'm so impressed, just take it easy and I'm sure you'll be fantastic!!

Ericaseas what a bas**d! I would have been furious - don't mess with a crazy pregnant lady! Wink I'm so impressed you kept running until 25 weeks & with twins, that's my target too - hopefully I can get there!!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 16/08/2017 10:58

Erica - I'm so p*ssed off about that on your behalf, but am not at all surprised. There are so many arseholes out there. What an idiot. Firstly, it's amazing that you're even out and about running when you're pregnant. Secondly, I highly doubt he looks like Tom Hardy himself so he can jog right on (not that being super hot should allow you to act like a knob jockey I will add...). I really hope this incident doesn't put you off.

EmilyK - I was wondering about that, but didn't want to be too "look at me! look at me!" (trying to keep my pregnancy privilege in check Grin). I am worried though, as it's such a busy race I don't want to be kicked or pushed over. I am also worried as, although it's the BEST RACE EVER (not at all biased because I'm a northerner), it is very hard as half marathons go because a lot of it is uphill (and at the point in the race where you're dying anyway) and it's so crowded you usually end up running an extra km or 2 getting round people!

Aww Melody, maybe it's mother's intuition? With DS I just knew all along that it was a boy. DH used to say that I just felt that way because I originally wanted a girl Grin. Trust me, within seconds of finding out what gender it is you will be so thrilled either way!

TriJo · 16/08/2017 11:47

If you're taking a "craic's at the back" approach and aiming for a 3+ hour finish it really shouldn't be too bad, worst of the crowding is around the 2-2:15 predicted finish times. I've done 2:15 and 2:01 for it, 2:01 was hell because it felt like it took me 11 miles to feel like I could really move after a start from green H corral.

I have a spare TfL Baby on Board badge if you want one?
