boringbetty · 26/07/2017 19:01

Thank you all . Got to go to the hospital on Friday morning . Having a glass of wine to make me feel better . Got a feeling I'll feel worse in the morning but I just feel so helpless to do anything . I wish you all healthy pregnancies xxx

Scandalicity · 26/07/2017 19:05

So relieved for you Lou - glad all is ok & they are keeping an eye on you!

Welcome Sah Smile

So so sorry for you Betty, I know there's nothing anyone can say, please look after yourselves Flowers

Loxy4527 · 26/07/2017 19:08

So sorry to hear that Betty Sad

Snozwanger · 26/07/2017 19:28

So sorry boringbetty Flowersx

Sah2241 · 26/07/2017 19:34

@emwahs thanks for the welcome 😀. I've not had a booking appointment yet as I'm in Northern Ireland and we have booking appointment and scan at the same time, but I have been on the phone to see what the hold up is. Apparently they have a backlog and it is likely to be close to 15 weeks before I'm seen, but I'm on a waiting list and might get called earlier if a space becomes available. Feels like an age away!

cloud30 · 26/07/2017 19:45

Betty i am so so sorry 🌺 look after yourself & give yourself time to recover.

Welcome Sah, 15weeks seems a bit long, if they can't do it earlier you could consider private scan although you should be entitled to scan earlier! good luck!

GingerRogers84 · 26/07/2017 20:17

My scan was fine. 12 weeks on the dot and pinging around in there like a pinball. Due 7th feb.

@boringbetty so incredibly sorry Flowers

Louanne89 · 26/07/2017 20:25

Congratulations @GingerRogers84 .. lovely news xx

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 26/07/2017 20:28

I am so so sorry Betty. My thoughts are with you Flowers.

SofiePendragon · 26/07/2017 20:54

So sorry Betty

Hello sah! 15 weeks does sound late. Do they do screening for trisomy (Downs etc) in NI? That needs to be done by 14 weeks if you want it.

Baba I'm around 12 weeks and also still feeling exhausted, although my nausea isn't as bad as it was last week so that's an improvement. I remember feeling tired pretty much the whole way through when I was pregnant with DD, so not expecting it to go entirely.

look I felt a little flutter a few days ago but not felt anything by since so it was probably just wind 💨 Blush

lookatthemoon · 27/07/2017 01:02

Betty - I am so very sorry for your loss. How incredibly cruel for you. Sending much love xx

lookatthemoon · 27/07/2017 01:05

I'm pretty sure my 'movement' was wind or digestive related now as I have had a busy morning in the bathroom 🙄

Babyagga - I sometimes feel like I have heaps of energy and go crazy exercising and getting things downs and I almost always pay for it by being nauseous and exhausted the next day or that evening!

LulusForest · 27/07/2017 07:25

So sorry betty, take good care of yourself Flowers

Congrats to everyone else who has recently had scans. I've got the date through for my 12 week scan, it's on the 10th August, so only 2 more weeks to go! I did have a quick scan at the EPU on Monday due to spotting though, scan showed everything looking ok and they couldn't find a reason for the spotting. They have said not to worry if it continues unless it gets right red and heavy, but it is hard not to worry when you don't feel like you should be seeing anything down there.

squinty I only have online notes too. Although when I went for a scan at my EPU on Monday, their computer was down...so I'm not sure how much confidence I have in the online notes system!

babayagga I am 10 weeks and also still feeling exhausted. If anything, I've felt even worse the last few days! I'm on holiday this week, but so not looking forward to going back to work next week if I'm still feeling like this. Fingers crossed we both start to get some more energy soon!

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2017 07:43

Congrats Ginger, that's great to hear!

TriJo · 27/07/2017 09:22

Long waits for any care on the island of Ireland (north or south, I am from Dublin) makes me suspicious - too many anti-choice loopers with their fingers in places on the maternity system and they don't want people to be informed of certain things at the right times in case they might make certain decisions if you know what I mean!

Sah2241 · 27/07/2017 11:12

@TriJo I know exactly what you mean. As far as I know we don't get offered nuchal test on the NHS in Northern Ireland for that very reason which is completely stupid imo. It is just as much about being mentally prepared for what might happen as it is about choosing whether to terminate, so I feel that you should be entitled to the test regardless of the abortion law here. Very frustrating!!

cookingbabydunc · 27/07/2017 11:22

Look I'm a bit like you, I've started getting a bit more energy recently and when I do, I go totally overboard and end up exhausted! Need to try and pace myself.

Betty thinking of you 💐

Ava1985 · 27/07/2017 11:35

Morning ladies

betty sorry to read about your sad news, thoughts go out to you Flowers

Congrats on all the scans that went well and lovely pics Smile

Week 10 has not been a pleasant one, nausea and vommiting ramped up drastically and I am constantly on the edge 😷 Last day of antibiotics for a uti which I'm sure has cleared up thankfully. Not sure if it's those that are amplifying symptoms or generally pregnancy?!? Boobs have been sore and I've been getting heartburn/indigestion! Blurgh.
Any of you ladies that are further along notice an improvement in symptoms now?

Have my scan a week tomorrow at 12 weeks X

Loxy4527 · 27/07/2017 11:49

Hey, Ava I'm at 11 weeks now and the nausea has improved slowly. At my worst - about 3 weeks ago - I had nausea all day every day, was retching in the morning and was falling asleep by 3pm. Now I can go a couple days of feeling fine then get the odd bout of feeling nauseous but it doesn't last all day. Hoping in two weeks it'll be all but gone Smile

lookatthemoon · 27/07/2017 13:17

Totally agree Sah and TriJo. I actually can't even talk about reproductive rights in ROI or NI or else I run the risk of spiraling into some crazy pregnant lady angry rant. But I just wanted to add my 'Grrr'. (Am from the Republic but live overseas).

Emwahs · 27/07/2017 13:49

ava my symptoms are slowly reducing. The headaches (fingers crossed have almost stopped) boobs are not so sore but nipples are really sensitive and get painful when I get cold! I am almost 14 weeks.

That's silly what you don't get offer in Ireland makes me angry too!

Loxy4527 · 27/07/2017 14:38

I had no idea that Ireland's policies made it harder to access even diagnostics... wow. I just. Oh I don't even know where to begin with how mad that makes me. And also very grateful for what we're offered in England. But seriously, everyone should have access to informed choices.

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2017 15:54

I'm sure I read somewhere that the DUP deal would include something on letting Irish women abort in England if they wanted to? May have been rubbish though... I don't agree with the Irish laws at all, every woman should have a choice - dp and I have spoken about options if Downs tests etc come back positive, and (I may get shot down for this) we both feel that we wouldn't be able to continue because of the time and money involved - we're just not set up for a situation like that. I'm hoping it's a decision I never have to make.

Ava I'm just past 11 weeks and my nausea has definitely subsided a lot, it's only really there if I go too long without eating in the mornings. Which, obviously, just makes me panic that something is wrong. Still got sore boobs, though, and still got a higher than normal amount of cm which I think are both positive signs, so I'm trying to stay positive until my scan in 2 weeks time...

TriJo · 27/07/2017 16:20

They're covering the cost of the procedure, but you still have to travel for it. That's for NI women. Everything is private for ROI women and the laws seriously affect continued pregnancy too there. parentsforchoice.ie/faq/ is good - I know quite a few women involved with them back home.

We're in exactly the same position regarding T21 etc Emily - we would most likely terminate if it was shown that there was a severe or fatal abnormality. We have to think of the child we already have too.
