TipTop normally cheese, salsa, shredded lettuce and maybe some sour cream. We had no salsa or sour cream but I chopped up some tomatoes and red onion instead of salsa. Yummy.

MaryShelley why on earth are people being negative because it's a boy Shock don't let them get you down, a little boy will be lovely :)

Good to hear you're home Peachi. Don't push yourself too hard at work, I'm sure your GP will sign you off longer if you feel you need it. I bought a cheap doppler off ebay a while ago. We used it twice before the 12 week scan (I was quite anxious because of spotting) and found the heartbeat both times with a bit of perseverance! I found it reassuring but I haven't used it since as I think that I would panic if I couldn't find it now since I found it the other times (if you get what I mean). If you decide to go for it I'd recommend watching a couple of youtube videos so you know what you're listening for.

@Peachi82 how many weeks are you? I think if you called your mw and explained your situation she'd happily see you and have a listen in for you. It's not that easy to do yourself and hard to distinguish between cord sounds, placental tissue and your own heartbeat, definitely best left to those trained to know what they are listening to xxxx

Peachi82 · 28/06/2017 12:44

Thanks for your answers.
I need to go and see the community midwife for the 16 week appointment anyway (I thought I have the 16 week one in the hospital as well, but at the scan they told me I need to see the community midwife and I've not yet been in touch with her), so I can ask then. Didn't know it is so complicated, it looked easy on YouTube... Haha.

Grin hi all

I'm sneaking in. I'm 17+1 and due December 5th

Brens13 · 28/06/2017 15:41

Yeay welcome user and congratulations!

Miami81 · 28/06/2017 17:05

Hi ladies
Been out of Internet coverage for a few days. Mrsbluebell if you find a solution to the bloating please tell me. I am frequently in agony and I really am not eating that much. DH is trying to persuade me to eat half the portion and let it settle to see how I feel after 15 mins, but I hate cold food (when it should be hot). He is right though and I may just have to offer it up to the pregnancy gods and change the way I eat.
Last few days I have either had the veggie option or something quite protein orientated with little carbs, seems to be helping a small bit.
New symptoms for me in the last day or so - nosebleed and exzcema. Delighted with both of these!!!!! (Why is there no sarcastic font???).

CheesecakeAddict · 28/06/2017 18:06

Have you tried just eating tiny portions with the bloating? Like, almost snacks

Mrsbluebell17 · 28/06/2017 21:35

Hey Miami
Thankfully the bloating has gone away now and only happened for the one night and morning for me so far. It was so so painful and uncomfortable though so I don't envy anyone with it regularly. I felt like I was going to pop, and to be honest I still feel a little like it now but I think that's a fairly normal pregnancy feeling - but compared with the bloating discomfort last night, wow that was something else!

Mrsbluebell17 · 29/06/2017 03:14

3am wake up tonight. Feeling anxious again at the moment Hmm so think that's adding to me being awake.

Off to the mothercare event next weekend. Need to suss out car seats as I don't know where to start.

I've been asking my friends (as this is our first) what they would recommend as a totally necessary purchase and what they found a waste of time when it came to baby items. Any thoughts from anyone on here too?

Mrsbluebell17 · 29/06/2017 03:29

Also I've got kinda restless legs. I just don't seem to be able to stretch them out enough Confused and they really ache!

CheesecakeAddict · 29/06/2017 05:58

I am so tired. All. The. Time. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I caved yesterday and had some coffee. Everyone told this feeling would go by the second trimester and this is my first pregnancy so I believed their lies.

Miami81 · 29/06/2017 06:07

Morning mrsbluebell and cheesecake. Sorry that you are both awake. Very annoying. I wonder if cheesecake you need your iron levels checked, I'm not sure but it is definitely something that if you are low on it can feel like you are sooooo tired all the time. Mrs any chance you are dehydrated a small bit?? I find I need ridiculous amounts of water through the day and night at the moment. Also maybe a magnesium spray or something might help (obviously please check if this is appropriate for pregnancy, my DH uses one for his restless legs and swears by it).

Zaberwocky · 29/06/2017 07:00

I'll have to catch up on the thread on my way into work Grin

Work has just been manic. I've inherited so many problems from the previous person, yet don't seem to ge getting a chance to fix them because of new problems Hmm

I completely get what everyone is saying about small portions. I'm too finding it pretty difficult to manage half a sandwich at times!

Lixon · 29/06/2017 07:30

Another one that is sooo tired/still sleeping terribly here - I think general anxiety probably isn't helping, so hoping I get to listen to the heartbeat at my midwife appointment tomorrow which might give me a weekend of respite..

MaryShelly I'm so sorry to hear you had negative comments about having a boy, how incredibly rude! What did they say? I can't believe anyone would comment on such a way but you're in good company here, even if personally I still haven't got my head around having a tiny boy inside of me!

Miami, I hope you manage to find something for the bloating soon- I've had it to a degree but nothing like yours which sounds really challenging.

Good luck at work Zaber, sounds stressful but has to be better than the last place at least?!

Zaberwocky · 29/06/2017 08:00

Thanks Lixon it's a thousand times better than the last place! And I'm delighted to actually be you know, doing what I trained to do again. And it'll be perfect once I have everything in order. It's just going to take a few weeks Grin

I really shouldn't complain! I spent a lot of time yesterday consoling a sobbing receptionist Sad it wasn't like my time was wasted.

I also blame you lot for me forgetting my sandwich Smile I was too busy catching up!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 29/06/2017 08:34

Ditto here re sleeping poorly and feeling anxious. I'm sure both are feeding each other in a vicious circle too. After a few weeks of being able to feel LB poking limbs out randomly with my hands on my tummy, there's now nothing. Tummy has grown so I'm hoping it's simply that he has more room in there now and therefore I just can't feel his movements, but it's tough in between scans 🙁 Have got my anomaly scan Friday next week at 19+3 so just trying to hold on to faith until then, but it's tough and I'm very blue today 😞

ScotsLamb · 29/06/2017 10:19

Aww Biker sending virtual hugs. Someone has said the anxiety doesn't go until you feel regular movements. Could you give your midwife a call for reassurance? No point in being worried unnecessarily.

Doctor's have just phoned me to say I have a urine infection and I've to go pick up antibiotics. I hope the urine infection has been contributing to the bausea and it might go away with the urine infection.

I've been having longer lies and more day time naps so my sleep pattern is shot to pieces. I've also been really cold in the evenings and in bed. It was midnight before I warmed up enough for sleep.
Bluebell how is the sleeping on your left going? Are you using a maternity pillow? I've discovered I'm waking up more and more on my back. I've never done that before and would like to bite it just now.

Also I've heard a lot of good things about snuzpod/sleepyhead items. There is a cheaper one that can also be used as a maternity pillow. I'll have a look.

I've been reading the blog called "The Uphill" and have found loads of good reviews and info on week by week feelings and symptoms. Might be useful for ideas.

CheesecakeAddict · 29/06/2017 11:04

Mothercare has some maternity pillows on offer at the moment. I got one last week and it's amazing.

glastogal · 29/06/2017 11:19

I read on another forums that lidl have maternity pillows for £10.. not sure when that offer expires but worth a look!!

biginjapan · 29/06/2017 13:23

Maryshelley I'm sorry to hear about boy negativity. I have 3 already so I know all about it. I don't know what this one is and obviously people are dying for it to be a girl, but I honestly don't care and don't give a shit about other people's comments any more. I do remember feeling really sad for ds3 (who incidentally was in NICU on a ventilator when he was born Angry) when people asked me if I was disappointed with him. I am much tougher now though and also know just how great boys are.

Peachi I have a Doppler and love it. When I start feeling movement I will stop using it for reassurance as it shouldn't replace being vigilant about counting kicks - and obviously I can't spot decelerations etc, but at this stage in all 4 pregnancies I've loved it. I honestly don't think it's that easy to mix up placenta/maternal heartbeat etc - especially with YouTube videos clearing illustrating them all. I do think it can cause anxiety if you don't find it though. My advice would always be go lower than you think you need to. I'm 16 weeks and I still find it just above pubic line. Im a big fatty too and find it dead easily.

Bluebell my essentials are a sling (stretchy wrap and then ergo), car seat and a baby monitor. I've also treated myself to a sleepyhead as I cosleep. I honestly am not getting anything else - not even a buggy. I know I'm a little unusual though and with ds1 wanted lots of gear. We didn't have Facebook selling pages then (12 years ago) which make everything so much easier. We will have to get a new car and with 4dc are thinking about a caravelle Confused. Anyone know anything about them?

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 29/06/2017 14:26

Thanks @ScotsLamb. I rather suspect that the midwife will just tell me that it's still early and there is generally no reason to worry about not feeling movement before 20 weeks (based on all the internet research I was doing at stupid o'clock last night...) but I might try that tomorrow if I have another bad night and see if she'll ask me to come in for a heartbeat reassurance check at the least.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 29/06/2017 14:28

@ScotsLamb - Hope the UTI clears up quickly with the meds. Am a frequent sufferer (although touch wood have been lucky in this pregnancy so far!) so can totally empathise! 😕

TipTop333 · 29/06/2017 16:49

I suddenly feel a lot more pregnant when I see that there is a March 2018 group!

Peachi82 · 29/06/2017 17:12

March thread already. Wow.

Decided against the Angelsounds, I think I am OK. I thought last night I am starting to feel the little one. Like a feathery touch from the inside, it can't be long now that it will become more clear.

But ordered the seat belt adjuster and a nursing pillow! My sleep is still rubbish and last night I couldn't find a single position I am comfy in.
