I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Thanks @SS81C :)

BlueeSpottyTiger · 05/07/2017 18:28

mrsloz my dp came to pretty much all my appointments but only because he wanted to, not because he needed to. It's just all form filling and bloods at 8 week appointment.
zyla sorry to hear about your mc's Flowers life is so cruel sometimes x

sunny my local scanning centre are nhs partners and do reassurance scans, dating scans and gender scans all for £50. Its so worth the peice of mind!

So i go on holiday the 31st of Aug when im 11+4 and return thursday at 13+4. I want the downs test to be done and that can only be done between 11 and 13+6 (so the nhs website says). I really hope i have my scan before i go otherwise the only possible day would be when im 13+5, the day after i get back as thats the last week day. I better remember to tell my mw that at booking in!

mamasiz · 05/07/2017 19:10

@BlueeSpottyTiger I've just checked the nhs website and it says the dating scan (inc down's screening) is between 8-14 weeks - maybe you could have it before your holiday? I'm on holiday between 13th and 14th so I hope so! 😊

stumblymonkeyagain · 06/07/2017 07:47

Hi everyone

I've just been through the whole thread!

I had my BFP yesterday in the work loos Grin
Main symptoms have been sore boobs for nearly three weeks (I'm only 4+1 but ovulate early), had a tiny bit of nausea but I did eat a lot that day including chocolate for breakfast but mainly I'm so bloated I look like I'm six months gone with twins!

I may have to start wearing maternity stuff now just for my bloated belly Shock

We TTC for 5 months last year and...nada. Now invoked the law of sod as we got carried away on holiday but sort of hoped it would come to nothing as I've put £700 deposit on a (now totally unsuitable) wedding dress and £2k deposit on a 16 day honeymoon abroad two months after I'm due!

So...ummm...yeah. If this bean sticks it has a sense of humour! Grin

DancingUnicorn · 06/07/2017 08:08

Hi monkey. Sod's law indeed! Maybe you would be able to change the dates of the honeymoon to later. Hopefully whoever you booked with would be understanding of the situation.

lokelani · 06/07/2017 08:09

Hey ladies, I wasn't sure if a march thread would have started yet. Got a BFP two days ago and slowly getting our heads around it. This was our first cycle so a bit of a shock. If all goes well we'll be due mid march.

How is everyone feeling? I've felt like I've had a cold for about a week. My head is pounding. I've had some cramping and I sort of feel 'aware' of my lower tummy. Mainly I'm shattered.

DH is getting increasingly excited. He asked about decorating our small bedroom this morning. I've told him let's not talk about any of that sort of stuff until September.

Apart from taking folic acid I'm not sure what else to do? Has anyone found any good advice websites or apps? I've spoken to doctor and am going later to fill in the required paperwork.

I read someone use the term cautiously excited. That sounds about right!

DancingUnicorn · 06/07/2017 08:15

Hi loke! Congratulations!

I've downloaded the pregnancy + app, which is pretty, and I find the NHS website has a lot of information. It's generally recommended to take vitamin d as well as the folic acid.

I still don't have many symptoms at all, which is scaring the crap out of me, as I'm nearly 6 weeks.

lokelani · 06/07/2017 08:37

Thanks @DancingUnicorn try not to worry. Have you got a doctors app booked?

DancingUnicorn · 06/07/2017 08:46

I've self referred, as that's easiest in my area. But if the anxiety stays this bad I think I will have to speak to the gp about it, as I probably won't get a midwife appointment till ten weeks if last time is anything go by.

MrsLoz · 06/07/2017 09:11

Hello to the newbies.

POAS this morning, first time since Monday just thought I best check it's still positive and it was. Happy days!

I could have quite happily taken myself to bed at 7 last night but managed to stay up until about 9.30, roll on next week when I can sleep on a sun lounger by the pool. Looking forward to not having holiday hangovers and my plan is to get up early and join in the morning exercise classes at the hotel. In reality I will probably roll over turn the alarm off and go back to bed haha

lokelani · 06/07/2017 09:31

Is it best to retest do you think? I haven't but I had considered it.

DancingUnicorn · 06/07/2017 09:35

I don't think there's any need loke. I think for some people it can help provide reassurance. It can also cause more anxiety if it feels like the lines are not getting darker. If you do decide to retest, I'd recommend using the same brand you used the first time so at least the sensitivity is the same. And waiting 48 hours between tests. Don't think there's a right or wrong. Whatever will make you feel most comfortable.

GWeatherwax · 06/07/2017 10:18

Quite jealous of those of you going off on holiday Grin

I booked my midwife appointment, it's a week Tuesday which lands on my fortnight off so I don't have to pretend it's the dentist or anything (yay).

Have worked out excuses for not drinking at a leaving do next week but it will be a big harder to navigate the prosecco evening with my mum, sister, aunties and cousins on Saturday!

My rough neighbours kept me awake half the night screaming at each other outside my house so I am not a happy bunny. Angry

ChaoticKate · 06/07/2017 10:35

I've just booked a private scan for the 25th of this month when I should be exactly 8 weeks. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly between now and then and I'll get to see a tiny little heartbeat. I'm finding myself amazed at how something the size of a sesame seed can have such a profound affect on your body. I know in reality it's the hormones flying around the place but I always thought if I got pregnant I'd be one of those women turning up at A&E with stomach pains saying I'd put on a bit of weight over the previous nine months but had idea why..... Most definitely not the case at the minute - if I didn't know I was pregnant I'd think I was about to come down with the most epic case of stomach flu.

stumblymonkeyagain · 06/07/2017 11:44

We're going to have a private scan at 8 weeks too. I've been pregnant with twins before (unwanted pregnancy some years back) so I'm keen to see how many beans are in there (in addition to just reassurance)...

stumblymonkeyagain · 06/07/2017 12:52

I can't keep my own secrets and just told everyone at work Blush

MrsLoz · 06/07/2017 13:13

stumblemonkey that made me laugh! Me and DH are in competition as to who caves first and tells someone. It will most likely be me! I was insistent that I wasn't even going to tell anyone we were trying and lasted about 3 days haha

ChaoticKate · 06/07/2017 13:14

@Stumbly that's a brilliant turn of phrase! The 12 week rule is just a social convention really. I do think it's partly about other people not feeling uncomfortable if things don't work out but then the unspoken expectation is therefore if something does go wrong women will suffer in silence. I do think sometimes it would be better if people did know and then at least there's a much wider support network and understanding right from the word go. I've told my boss and my sibling but nobody else yet.

lokelani · 06/07/2017 13:16

@stumblymonkeyagain I'm seeing my BF Tonight and I've promised DH I won't say anything. I honestly don't know if I'll manage it. And then I have to see my mum over the weekend.

I might look up private scans. Are they expensive?

Hailun · 06/07/2017 13:34

Hi, I'm new here. Also due on March 4th 2018- my first baby after a long battle with endometriosis.
Do you ladies have any advice for me? I'm suffering with severe nausea & vertigo literally 24/7. As I'm living in Germany I don't have access to some of the things - eg. ginger biscuits- that we'd get in the UK. I've been prescribed vitamins b6 &. b12, as well as Vomex (dimenhydrinate which hasn't helped at all). I'm off work, which isn't great but I can't stand up without needing to lie down!
Hopefully none of you are suffering from the same symptoms, but if you are it would be great to hear from you.

lokelani · 06/07/2017 13:41

@Hailun no I'm not bad like you. But my best friend last year was in a terrible state in the first few weeks (months). She found that really sour sweets (haribo) helped her a lot. As did lime flavour. Not sure it will help with the vertigo but maybe the nausea

SheSaidHeSaid · 06/07/2017 13:44

Hiya! Thought I'd introduce myself and then go back and read all previous 10 pages so I'm up to speed Grin.

I'm due 7th March, so that makes me 5+1 weeks . Found out Friday last week and had been ttc for about 10 months.

I'm bursting to tell people because I'm a very social person and a lot of my socialising revolves around drinking so I feel like an absolute fraud at the moment having to cheat and lie to people about cancelling events or why I'm not drinking etc. We're telling parents this weekend because my DH can't wait to tell his mum (they're quite close) otherwise we might have waited a little bit longer. Will probably tell my closest/best friends so they understand why I'm being a bit of a bore and also because if anything went wrong I'd need their support anyway.

ChaoticKate · 06/07/2017 13:50

@Hailun I have fairly severe nausea but no vertigo. That sounds horrible!

ChaoticKate · 06/07/2017 13:51

@lokelani Mine is costing £89.

SunnyCoco · 06/07/2017 14:23

Oh girls I'm feeling so anxious about this pregnancy - I'm convinced it will be another miscarriage waiting to happen :(
