DuRezidal · 15/06/2017 07:44

My little bump seems to have started to come back so I must be putting on some of the weight I lost.

Hazandduck · 15/06/2017 08:13

Lovely news on the 20 week scans :) Can't believe we are getting to this stage.

Ah loving the bump pics! Mine has really popped out the last week or so, everyone at work keeps saying "you really look pregnant!" My belly feels so firm, it feels like someone has just glued a bump to my body. And I never thought I would be one of those people that moans, but I am finding bed so uncomfortable, my whole body seems to ache when I wake up! Need a proper cushion soon I think.

OH took this Monday, my cat is one of those envious creatures that needs to be in on everything!

Oh also I had a meltdown night before last as hadn't felt much movement, so I got to hear the heartbeat again yesterday morning with my midwife :) She said she would always rather I call her than sit at home worrying as it takes her 5 minutes to listen in. 18 + 3 today!

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/06/2017 08:42

Awww lovely bumps @Zampa and @Hazandduck. Haz - I love how your cat joined in too!

butterybollocks · 15/06/2017 09:18

Aw great pics!

I seem to be getting sciatica on and off. I had it quite badly ten years ago after slipping a disc but it didn't flare up in my last pregnancy. I wasn't quite so fat back then tho!

Waiting for my train to London at the moment, I'm exhausted already and I've only walked to the station. Don't think I'll be hanging about in the office today - will do my meeting and come home.

Hazandduck · 15/06/2017 09:56

Thanks guys!
Buttery I've been having it on and off the whole pregnancy, certain things I do (climbing out the car, standing in a certain position too long.) Never had it before! Is there anything to be done? Maybe acupuncture?

butterybollocks · 15/06/2017 10:09

My only answer is keep gently active. Horse riding works for me but that's out at the moment as I'm far too likely to fall off! But bouncing on a large gym ball is probably a good substitute (unless I fall off that too Grin)
Also sitting at a desk is the worst thing for it, I have to have a chair that tilts backwards and have to get up regularly. Yesterday I set it off by taking the handbrake off in the car, my lovely husband Angry had pulled it up really hard and I had to use both hands to get it off which meant I twisted a bit.

GingerHanna · 15/06/2017 10:48

I have a small but definitely baby bump. Will take some pictures when working at home tomorrow as I'll be 18 weeks and my sister insists on weekly pictures (she's in the UK, me on the continent so it's our way of connecting).

Not feeling any pains or discomfort really, yet. Except when in meeting rooms as the chairs seem to make my posture quite bad and my diaphragm compresses or something and makes it quite crampy. Very odd. Need to pull in a normal desk chair instead.

Going on holiday on Saturday for two weeks so very happy today!

@Zampa and @Hazandduck loving the bumps and the dresses! I'm having hrs time with mean petty people at work so literally am counting the working days left!

I went for massage this morning, was ok, but getting bad back ache. Trying to keep active I think is best way to keep things moving as they should x

Topsyloulou · 15/06/2017 13:28

Love seeing all the bump photos. Will try & get DP to take one for me tonight.

Sorry to hear about all the bad backs. I've already got a back support for my chair & footrest under my desk, don't need it yet but I know I'll need it as the bump gets bigger. Getting up & walking round is definitely a big help.

H&M sale starts today, they've got some maternity wear in it (including the dress I bought last week!)

Hazandduck · 15/06/2017 17:05

Buttery oh my god last week I actually had to get my OH to come home to lift my handbrake for me - how pathetic! He'd left it on a steep hill (I normally park in the flat bit) and no matter what I did I could not lift the handbrake. He goes to work earlier than me so when I left an hour later I could not lift the handbrake. Phoned him screaming and raging! Looking back it was pretty funny lol. At the time I could've run him over quite easily!

Hazandduck · 15/06/2017 17:08

Lydia rubbish work aren't being supportive :( my work have been really lovely I was so nervous to tell them but everyone has been excited to have an office baby. I just hate my job so can't wait to leave that behind for a year!
Topsy going online now, thanks for the H&M heads up!

stuckinny · 15/06/2017 17:22

Had 20 week scan this morning (I'm only 18+6) and everything with the baby looks good. He's measuring two days ahead but it's not enough to change my due date. I can't believe he's only 9oz given how much bigger I look.
The only thing that was of slight concern is the placenta is lying a little low. It's in the 'safe' threshold but they'd like it to be a little higher. As a result I'll probably have to have another scan at 26 weeks but won't know for sure until I see the doc next weekend.

As for aching, the only thing that works for me is to be more active. Sitting or laying (even when not pregnant) seems to make it worse.

I'm going to look into getting a massage. Ideally I'd like to get a few between now and delivery.

I love all the bump pictures. I will try to get one taken in the next few days.

Hazandduck · 15/06/2017 17:27

Congratulations Stuck. Lovely scan pic!

Foggymist · 15/06/2017 21:41

For sciatica try deep tissue massage and/or osteopath.

lydiangel83 · 16/06/2017 06:50

Lovely scan @stuckinny

I'm stressing as the 20 wk scan report showed head circumference in bottom 20%. Going to call midwife today as not due to see her for another 4 weeks and the sonographer didn't explain anything to us, just shoved report in our hands and said it's fine. I only noticed % when we left, and googling small HC at 20 wk scan does not present a pretty picture :-/ probably being paranoid and Middle of the night fears but want to check.

Who is supposed to explain the scan results to you anyway if you are not in consultant led care? Both of our scans the sonographers couldn't wait to get us out and on to their next job.

Zampa · 16/06/2017 07:16

Lydia Definitely get some reassurance from your midwife as otherwise you'll be stressing and worrying which isn't good for you. However, I honestly wouldn't be concerned right now. Babies come in different sizes.

lydiangel83 · 16/06/2017 08:50

Thanks @Zampa also femur % is 10% which sounds odd too. Have texted midwife and asked her to call me. If we don't get satisfactory response will go private. Not sure who is meant to talk you through results as sonographer was clearly in a massive rush both scans

Zampa · 16/06/2017 09:42

Completely the right thing to do Lydia. (Incidentally, I love the name Lydia!).

If the femur is little then maybe everything is just little? Maybe ask for a follow up scan to check growth or pay for a reassurance scan?

No-one talked us through DD's 20 week scan. I think if everything is deemed normal, you just get "processed" through the system. I was quite disillusioned after mine last time. I suppose it's special for us but very routine for the sonographer.

I was reassured that my 12 week scan this time was completed by someone with a much better bedside manner. It makes such a huge difference.

butterybollocks · 16/06/2017 10:17

I don't think anyone really talks you through it, but hopefully your midwife will be able to explain. Remember that 'in the bottom x%' is likely to mean within normal range.

My now 5 year old's 20 week scan showed short femur length. She's just little!

lydiangel83 · 16/06/2017 10:45

Thanks @butterybollocks and @Zampa just waiting to hear back from midwife but spoke to my friend who is a Gp (handy!) and she said it all sounded ok. I agree that the sonographer is just doing a routine but it is so special for you that you'd think they'd try just a little bit harder to be nice to you!

Motherhippy16 · 17/06/2017 08:06

Loving seeing the bump pics!!! So so lovely. I do not have a bump.... just look really bloated.... 16+2 today. Still hard to believe there is a tiny human in my tummy but I am very tall (6 ft 2) so apparently bump doesn't show till later. Would be nice to have a bump though rather than just looking like I've had too many cakes! Much love to all x

izzibee29 · 17/06/2017 11:26

Great to see all the bump chatter and loving the support we are all giving each other x

Today is baking hot isn't it! This morning went for an early walk with the dog, then watched the Lions rugby match and now onto Trooping the colour. Must get on with house work afterwards. What's everyone else up to?

Teachervoice · 17/06/2017 11:47

Same as you izzi! Must move after this finishes though!
