Think we all feel that way Carlotta... if a scan is going to help you relax, then there's nothing wrong with booking one.

glastogal · 17/05/2017 11:34

I think peace of mind is valuable Carlotta, you gotta do what you gotta do to feel as at ease as possible!! I'm sure all is well with your baby but I understand the anxiety. I was feeling really negative 10 days ago but didn't have a scan.. it's less than a week until my dating scan now so I feel ok about waiting.

CarlottaJo · 17/05/2017 11:34

Thanks @MontyPants, such a worrier! Then I worry about worrying! Sigh, wish I could relax! I'm not the bosses partner btw haha x

CarlottaJo · 17/05/2017 11:35

Thanks @glastogal, nice to know you don't all think I'm a crazy lady!

CarlottaJo · 17/05/2017 11:37

Previous miscarriage and an awful previous brush with anxiety both showing themselves this week Sad my poor DP, who is AMAZING, but think he struggles when I get like this x

ScotsLamb · 17/05/2017 11:37

Zaber just read the drug dependent baby thread. Floods of tears. What a truly inspirational woman. She deserved to live forever for the amazing things she did.

Zaberwocky · 17/05/2017 11:51

Carlotta of course you're not crazy! You can't put a price on peace of mind, plus the anxiety isn't great for you either. You do whatever you need to do to get through this.

Scot I TOLD YOU NOT TO! I accept no liability for your tears! I completely agree though, amazing woman.

ScotsLamb · 17/05/2017 12:15

But because you told me not to I had to read it.

TootsyBella84 · 17/05/2017 13:03

Hello all, hope you're all doing well!

Oh Miami I hope you've taken the day off work, will EPU only see you if things get worse or are they going to get you in? It must be such a worry.

I still have brown spotting, it has been going on for 2.5 weeks now! Wish it would pi$$ off and take my stupid sickness with it!

This is such a dull stage with all the nausea, sickness, tiredness and trying to keep it a secret. Can't wait for all the 12 week scans to start rolling in and we will see actual baby shaped babies! I wonder if many due dates will change.

I'm back at the midwife tomorrow for blood tests and have to take a bottle of pee, Yippee! Seems to be a few of us in that boat this week lol x

TootsyBella84 · 17/05/2017 13:05

Yay for another scan Carlotta! We've had 2 at EPU already and I still don't feel satisfied. I've had a Google around and seems our nearest place is £99 for an early scan, I just can't justify that cost Sad jealous of the Groupon deals people find! I'm hoping to get my letter through soon with the date of 12 week scan, then I can start counting down like a crazy lady 😬😬

CarlottaJo · 17/05/2017 13:22

This was 49 which I think is quite reasonable, whereabouts are you? X

NerosFiddle · 17/05/2017 14:59

At the minute I'm sitting in a&e because the vomiting has been so bad I'm now bringing up blood. No anti sickness tablets have helped so far. I'm just feeling sorry for myself

macsworth · 17/05/2017 15:08

Oh neros that sounds awful! I hope they can do something to help you.

I've just had to leave my office in tears after finishing EMIN thread! What an amazing woman.

Zaberwocky · 17/05/2017 15:25

Neros Sad you'll feel a thousand times better after they get fluid in you. I promise. You're in the best place.

Mac now I feel bloody awful for bringing that thread up!

The student MW took nearly two hours to do my booking in appointment, bless her.

Zaberwocky · 17/05/2017 15:28

Really serious question.

OBEM. Why did this weeks lady have to take her makeup off, when the lady with the planned section last week kept her full face of slap on!?

glastogal · 17/05/2017 16:11

Maybe they thought they could see through the eye makeup last week.. the lady last night had very heavy make up. Do they look for blue eyelids? For some anaesthetic you have to remove nail varnish

pauseplayrepeat · 17/05/2017 16:29

Not had a chance to catch up since yesterday morning - chatterboxes! - but popping on to post a very baby-shaped scan pic from this morning! Everything was fine and little bubba was going nuts, rolling over, bunny hopping it's little legs, stretching. Had my dates changed to a week later than I thought too so am now 12+5 and due in November...but don't kick me out Grin
I've got to wait a week for the Harmony results to come back but the sonographer said based on the nuchal fold I looked low risk. Hoping she wouldn't say that if she wasn't sure!

glastogal · 17/05/2017 16:39

pause!! That's a lovely scan pic ♥️ congrats on making a baby-shaped baby and for being a week closer to meeting them 😁 how exciting!!

TipTop333 · 17/05/2017 16:43

Pauseplayrepeat congratulations!!!! And you skipped a week ahead you lucky thing! A fantastic picture.

LapinR0se · 17/05/2017 16:48

What an amazing scan picture! Proper little baby Smile

TootsyBella84 · 17/05/2017 16:49

We're NE Scotland a pretty awkward place. I found somewhere that does them for £50 but it's a 3 hour drive away so not really worth it lol. I may just have to be patient and sit it it!

Yay for the baby shaped baby pause! Slightly jealous that you've been bumped forward!

Neros how awful, I hope the hospital are helping you out and you're feeling a little better. I can totally sympathise x

pauseplayrepeat · 17/05/2017 16:57

I know - a baby, rather than a cake. Ovia app has a lot to answer by setting up expectations that you're carrying a petit four!

Had a chance to catch up and feel insensitive posting scan pics when, Miami, you've been at the EPU. Really hope the bleeding settles down and that the next scan confirms it's the horn shedding.

Neros do you have a HG day clinic near you where you can get IV fluids without being admitted? Hope you find a med soon that helps. Having to work my way through a long line of meds, getting sicker, weaker and more malnourished as the weeks went on, during my 1st pregnancy, was utter hell. Really feel for you!

CarlottaJo · 17/05/2017 17:15

Awww hello to our first Blob to Baby @pauseplayrepeat, gorgeous Grin

Zaberwocky · 17/05/2017 17:44

Oh Pause ! That's so lovely Smile

mamalovesviolet · 17/05/2017 17:57
