@BouncingBlueberry me too! DH says just do a postal vote but I am a floating voter and I always wait until the very last minute to make a decision! Our polling station is a 5 minute walk so thats a plus

MrsJW15 · 18/04/2017 11:15

Another political obsessive here - now excited for baby's first election!

BouncingBlueberry · 18/04/2017 11:24

When we are up night feeding that night we can watch the count come in.

coxsorangepippin · 18/04/2017 11:49

Definitely! I enjoy voting in person, I send up a little prayer to the Pankhursts. It will be motivation to make sure I'm up and walking!

EsmesBees · 18/04/2017 11:58

So gutted I won't be at work through the election. I work in central Government and it's always a fun, if busy, time.

But my first thought blueberry was that it will be something to watch while up all night with the baby!

1004Rise · 18/04/2017 12:03

@BouncingBlueberry @savagehk another slightly political obsessive, currently trying to work out if there's time to get our postal vote before we move house... there's no way we'd make it on the electoral roll in time otherwise. Good thinking about the count while middle of the night feeding!

@Nurse15 hoping that it's going ok for you

@mightymouse76 hopefully you got a bit of rest and you and baby are still doing ok

@Autumnsweater owww not how you want to start the day, hope it got better!

@yellowismyfavourite that's good from the HV, I hope we don't need it either!!!Grin

@vanilla8 @RasperryInAMelon I've been stuck too, note to self don't let the water go ... it's all very undignified!!Blush

Today's question if the baby engages can it then pop out again and if it does should I be concerned or is it just all practice... feels like s/he is higher up today Confused

MissMooMoo · 18/04/2017 12:05

@1004Rise yes baby can pop in and out although its more common in second, third, etc pregnancies.
Usually first babies engage and stay put,but not always!

MrsJW15 · 18/04/2017 12:18

Blueberry my thoughts too - might as well have an election party if we will be up anyway!

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 18/04/2017 12:21

Found you all! This thread moves too fast for me!

It's my last week in work- wahoo! So after the weekend I'll be able to keep much more up to date with this.

Hope everyone is well. Xx

teainbed · 18/04/2017 12:35

That's great news @jennymac31 !

I'm fine with the fragmin injections, I'm used to injecting insulin! I was just a bit surprised I was in that category but there's clearly a good evidence base behind it.

Random thought for the day, I'm day 5 and I've just finished my second packet of maternity pads, so x20 used since delivery not including a handful of hospital ones they used straight after the birth when I was in bed. I'm now onto the Boots slim maternity pads as the bleeding is a lot less. They're more comfortable than the normal maternity ones certainly.

Badgerbird · 18/04/2017 12:53

Can't believe it's been 5 days tea!!

rasoberry hope your ankle gets better with some rest today. Brew So babies movements aren't reduced as such it's just that as they are behind placenta you can't feel them as much is that right?

mighty I hope your night wasn't too stressful.

lullaby I love it when she hiccups!! Makes me giggle Grin

autumn how's the pain? Hope you don't have a busy day ahead and can rest it a bit or ease it in a bath.

jennymac31 · 18/04/2017 13:01

Thanks MissMooMoo & Teainbed - I literally burst into tears when I got the confirmation because tbh I didn't think we had a cat in hell's chance of getting a place at our second choice let alone our first! Had genuinely been keeping all fingers & toes crossed that we would get our 3rd choice as I really wasn't hopeful because had heard a number of horror stories from other parents in the area who hadn't been offered any of their three preferences.

Now need to look at the costs of school uniforms and all that jazz!

Rustler74 · 18/04/2017 13:08

@jennymac31 fantastic news!
@BouncingBlueberry not able to vote as haven't become British (yet) but still obsessed with politics and particularly when it comes to our NHS. Fingers x it all goes ok!
@teainbed so jealous of all those baby snuggles you've had in all those 5 days!

coxsorangepippin · 18/04/2017 13:45

esmesbees same here, though in a not-very-European dept so less in the spotlight than some perhaps!

Barnes79 · 18/04/2017 13:46

Does anyone know if you become classed as high risk if they think you're going to have a tiny baby (less than 5.5lb)? I've got my 34w MW appointment tomorrow and am expecting to still be miles below the 10th centile on my growth chart meaning it will predict LO to be a "tiny" baby. I've seen/read loads on what happens if they think it's going to be a big baby but nothing on the opposite... Confused

teainbed · 18/04/2017 13:49

@Barnes79 if it's IUGR then probably yes.

1004Rise · 18/04/2017 13:51

@teainbed wow 5 days already, where has the time gone! Shock Thanks for the tip!

I'm in full on starving mode today, just had to make myself a huge bowl of tuna pasta to stop me eating an entire packet of chocolate chip shortbread Blush

Also seem to be at the point of needing an afternoon nap... wondering if they're related Confused

peasandquiet · 18/04/2017 13:55

Barnes I was being monitored for small growth due to a hormone problem (baby is big tho) when I asked the consultant what happens with a small baby she basically said they assess whether baby is better in or out and deliver if needed. I think they would be most concerned if growth slows/stops and anticipate you'll have pretty regular scans if baby is small. Have you had a growth scan recently?
Congrats to those who have school places, seems like all the village kids got into our village primary this year so fingers crossed will be the same in 2yrs when my toddler applies!
I've been to the office to finish last bits off and out of office is on! Officially no more work till 2018 🎉

MissMooMoo · 18/04/2017 14:06

My pram arrived Smile in all my excitement I have stabbed myself in the leg with a pair of scissors! Through my leggings and into my inner thigh, lots of blood but doesnt look too deep. I cleaned it and put a huge plaster on,hope its ok!
Have put the pram togther and folded it up to store in baby's room.
We officially have everything now, just need a baby.

Barnes79 · 18/04/2017 14:12

Thanks peas and tea. Not officially diagnosed as SGA but I've had 2 fundal height measurements miles under the 10th centile and had a growth scan at 28w which put him at approx 50th centile. Have my next fundal height measurement tomorrow and expect he'll still be below 10th centile. I was just trying to get my head around what they'll do. Whilst I know the growth scan put him as average it was 6w ago. I know there's a large margin for error in both types of measurements and thought they may start to get more cautious as weeks go by if he doesn't move up the centiles...

peasandquiet · 18/04/2017 14:27

What pram is is missmoomoo? Nothing more exciting than a new pram!

1004Rise · 18/04/2017 14:32

@MissMooMoo GrinGrinGrin at just need a baby!

Which pram did you get? Ours is back in the box ready to move... looking forward to being able to have it out!

MissMooMoo · 18/04/2017 14:38

We got the icandy raspberry.
They also sent the new extenders to put the seat higher up if we want to,which is apparently the newest change they have made to it.
I can't see DH being as excited about it as I am. Its so smooth to push, I may have pushed it up and down the hallway a few times Blush

peasandquiet · 18/04/2017 14:43

Men don't 'get' prams! Tho I do always find my husband is insistent on pushing when we are out! Looks lovely moo, enjoy!!

lullaby23 · 18/04/2017 14:49

Careful with those scissors missmoo! No running! exciting when the big kit arrives.

barnes I think medically speaking 'small' is counted as 2.5kg and 'big' as 4kg, not sure what they do about it though. Hope your next measurement or scan, if applicable, can help put your mind at rest.

Good news on the school jenny the local primary I would want to send DS to only takes one class of 30 a year so already worrying about that 2 years ahead of time Confused

Another one with a super active baby today, movements have gone from the right side to middle so wonder if she's done a bit of a switcheroo.

Last general election DS was 10 days old, this one DD should be 12 days old! I think having a tiny baby will be a good excuse to avoid coverage, I will vote but very jaded by the last few years of politics!
