@mightymouse76 and @Nurse15 sounds like you're on the mend which is fantastic news!

@RedBlu hopefully things get a little easier for you being able to WFH

@Tickyboovicki @1004Rise when using lavender oil you should combine it with milk apparently. Otherwise the lavender just sits on top of the water rather than aiding the body

@Badgerbird I had the same with my ASOS order for the wedding we're going to in a few weeks 🙈 apparently my brain said 'your 29 years old, curvy and pregnant' in reality I've returned everything other than a top that looks like a bed sheet because I'm not curvy - im just bloody wide 😩 (plus massive pants don't look good under anything remotely sexy)...

Welcome @MrsE84 👋🏻

@PeachIcedT I had the MRSA at my last MW appointment so I can share your delight at that 😳

@mrspage1985 @vanilla8 @MissMooMoo I'd considered getting the strep B home testing kit, but MW assures me that urine is tested for it here and you could have it one week and not the following

DH and I went to our last NCT class this evening too - despite the horrendous mood I was in and my 'I don't want to go' strop - we had a great time and did 'Baby 101' this evening which was very informative.

5 weeks to go in theory, but let's see what happens at this meeting to discuss induction next Thursday...

Autumnsweater · 19/04/2017 23:24

@rasperryinamelon why are they discussing induction with you again? Purely based on RFM or was your growth scan small as well? I'm 35 weeks too but have my second growth scan tomorrow as he was on the small side last time and I had RFM. But we've both got anterior placentas right? Cos when the CTG probe goes on I can hear the little bugger moving but I can't see him 😂. My consultant appt is directly after my scan so will be interesting to see what they say.

lullaby23 · 19/04/2017 23:32

fox it's interesting about Japan / SIDS also if I remember correctly there's also high male smoking levels which seems to be negated by bedsharing/breastfeeding?

northern ah good old clusterfeeds, kind of forgotten about that! How are your afterpains for baby #4? Are you taking painkillers? Ibuprofen is a pain to get hold of here so thinking I might ask DH to stock up when he goes away next. He's doing a quick trip to the UK 2 weeks before ELCS I'm sure it'll be fine 😬

Are dinner with the toddler last night and asleep by 10 but woke up at 5ish having weird dreams about cooking rice pudding for Dot Cotton.

Badgerbird · 20/04/2017 03:12

Ooh hello preggo insomnia! I remember you Confused

Thanks cox :) funnily enough I didn't look sexy in any of it. Surprise surprise! Thanks dream, maxi dress is great idea, wish I could get away with one but I'm too short and they swamp me. Unfortunately none of them were right so they're going back jw, swing dress, body con dress and tea dress. 3 totally different styles but nothing quite right Angry

Oh god raspberry I feel your pain!!! What are we gonna wear?? Also why are they still talking induction when little one is moving but you just can't feel it due to AP?

Welcome e84 :)

Good news about brave Babytea and well done on the mamouth feeding sesh tea. I'm guessing that's classed as cluster feeding?

barnes that's such great news!!

Hey bean glad all was ok after monitoring for reduced movement. Could you feel the contractions/BH's?

Brightsmoke · 20/04/2017 04:05

Another one back in the pregnancy insomnia club 😩 3-4 weeks of sleeping until 6-7, and looks like I'm back to 3.30 again 🙄 hi Badger!!

Welcome MrsE84

Rasperry & Badger, my local new look have a fairly large maternity selection, I've got 2 dresses from there recently, might be worth a look?

I've looked at the cord ties, how do they actually tie? (Maybe I should read the link, I'm sure it's on there 🙈)

Glad all is going well with BabyTea, sounds like your doing a marvellous job!

DH alarm goes off in 15 minutes, so I can finally move around without feeling guilty, woo!

Felt sick last night so laid on the bathroom floor and got stuck as in too much pain to sit up; had to wait for DH to get home, not my finest moment! Also, I had over 10 strong and mildly painful BH in one hour last night, continues when I moved about but eased off when I went to bed. Got my 38 week MW app today, so gonna be questioning the pain and frequency.

Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday! Hoping the sun keeps shining 🌞

RasperryInAMelon · 20/04/2017 04:34

@Autumnsweater just because of RFM seems daft - like you CTG shows everything is ok, 35+1 and weight is on track for LO to be 8lb8oz at birth.

@Badgerbird god knows... (as an answer to both your questions...)

Why oh why am I not asleep...

lullaby23 · 20/04/2017 04:39
Autumnsweater · 20/04/2017 05:28

Hello fellow insomniacs. Club I didn't want to belong to but I'm glad I'm not alone!

@rasperryinamelon seems OTT doesn't it. Annoying for you that you don't get to discuss it for another week. Will be interesting to see what they say to me tomorrow.

savagehk · 20/04/2017 06:48

Re group b strep, given current understanding i don't see how it helps except to give a lot of women unnecessary antibiotics. On the other hand you could test negative but have a flare up when in labour and wouldn't then know or have the antibiotics. Any signs of the baby having caught it would be picked up post birth by a health worker and the baby could then be treated.

Re sids, the other theory that was around last pregnancy was that it was to do with our western mattresses and/or reusing them. Japan (eg) tends to use natural materials without fire resistant chemicals (which are pretty toxic), and if drool/wee/sick got into a mattress and then bacteria began to feed on it, they could exhale gasses which may contribute to sids. So new mattresses for new children and always with a waterproof cover.

crazyzooo · 20/04/2017 07:14

Hi all, I dropped off a few threads due to anxiety regarding reduced movement, small baby and birth (ha!). Have an appointment to set a date for elective c-section for tokophobia next week and feel a bit more in control. Also on first day of maternity leave - yey!

Congratulations with a beautiful baby tea. Good luck to all who are going through the monitoring and growth scans! Not long to go now.

EsmesBees · 20/04/2017 07:17

bean I used Clary sage oil when I was overdue last time. It's meant to bring on contractions but did nothing as far as I could tell. Odd smell too.

I had forgotten about the four hour cluster feeds too lullaby. Am wondering how much of the newborn stage I have forgotten in my loved up/sleep deprived haze.

Hope all goes well at your appointment Autumn

Had crazy pregnancy dreams last night. Had one where DH had left the kids with a really unsuitable baby sitter and then wouldn't tell me where they were so I could get them home. Woke up feeling furious with him Blush

1004Rise · 20/04/2017 08:29

I was awake too but was trying to be good and not look at screens... was still awake from 4 - 6 sigh!

Welcome @MrsE84

@RasperryInAMelon good tip with the milk for lavender baths

Wedding for me tomorrow, think I'm going to wear the black dress from the Seraphine bump kit, a bright scarf and sparkly flat shoes.... Hopefully people will focus on the shoes and scarf Hmm it's a ceilidh in a barn in the evening so changing back into jeans and I can go hide in a corner (at some point in this pregnancy I actually thought I would be able to take part in the dancing.... must have been delusional!!)

Good luck for your scan today @Autumnsweater

I think I had stupid dreams last night woke up feeling unsettled but don't really know why Hmm being stretched in several directions this morning so while uncomfortable is at least reassuring!!

Teaspoon74 · 20/04/2017 08:40

Nice to see you back Crazyzoo! And completely understand the anxiety. Is this your first? There's so much to get your head around isn't there?! Jealous you're already on Mat Leave. Still got another week to go Hmm

Welcome MrsE and hi to the insomnia club👋🏻. Didn't pick up my phone through the night but still up every 45-90 mins. Trying to think of it as training but it's tough!!

Badger have you tried Monsoon for decently cut dresses? They do a petit range too.

Tea sounds like you and bubs are doing well - so pleased!!

Was up early so tried to bake some shortbread before work ..... managed to burn it. Doesn't bode well for my dreams of Domestic Goddess-hood during Mat Leave!!

Badgerbird · 20/04/2017 09:18

teaspoon I love that you were awake throughout the night then still up early enough before work to bake!!! Ok so it got burnt but admirable effort! Will check monsoon thanks :)

Hello fellow insomniacs, it's boring isn't it and my DH's sleep gets v disrupted when I'm not in the bed with him. But it's got to be good practise for us both. bright I too was lulled into a false sense of security with sleeping until 6/7 with 2 wee stops in middle but back to sleep. It was amazing.... it'll come back yeah??!
Your episode on bathroom floor sounds horrid! Be interesting to see what mw says.

raspberry yes it does seem a little odd. I asked as it's something I'd brought up with mw and nurses on triage when I've been in for rdf which ended up fine as movement wasn't reduced I just couldn't feel it due to AP. I'd heard about women being induced because of that but they said no that wouldn't happen unless there was a problem with the baby. How frustrating for you.
Good luck with your appointment autumn

Sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time zoo. Hopefully the appointment to sort your ecs will put your mind at rest a little and you can enjoy your mat leave Flowers

rise that sounds like a good outfit and the wedding sounds great, have fun :)

yellowismyfavourite · 20/04/2017 09:56

barnes glad all went well yesterday. autumn good luck for today. Welcome mrsE

We went into triage yesterday evening for reduced movements... my anxiety is really high right now!!! They said everything was fine and we could see movement on the trace... Some of which I wasn't feeling due to AP and baby starting to engage and become lower. However, I still think it was less than normal for my very wriggly baby. Seems to be more normal today which is reassuring... and I have mw appointment later for my third and final sweep attempt so she should check heart rate again. And then scan tomorrow. So we are being well checked up on!!

EsmesBees · 20/04/2017 10:40

You poor thing yellow. Anxiety is horrible. Hope you are finding the monitoring etc reassuring. Not long to go for you now!

Anyone know anything about raspberry leaf tea and if it actually speeds up labour? Wondering if I should avoid it this time as things happened so quickly last time.

Did anyone see One Born this week? There was a really nice, drug free, quick birth featured this week (baby Abel). Lovely couple too.

newbieho · 20/04/2017 10:50

Hello @MrsE84 👋

@yellowismyfavourite you poor thing. Those little ones know how to scare us...good news you are being monitored and I hope all goes well today. Hugs Star

Badgerbird · 20/04/2017 11:01

yellow that's scary. Glad all ok and I hope sweep goes "well". Eeek! Not long now :)

teainbed · 20/04/2017 11:09

Morning! We had a better night. Two stretches of two hours sleep and one of an hour with feeds in between. BabyTea is feeding really well. I had a bit of an emotional wobble last night but it's passed, fairly classic day 5/6 blues coinciding with milk coming in! I feel more robust today.

@yellowismyfavourite will be thinking of you. It's all happening now!

@crazyzooo welcome back and glad you've got your C-section sorted.

Huge sympathies to Team Insomnia, it's the time you could really do with some good quality sleep!

I posted this on an earlier thread but do read if you're considering getting tested. www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/patients/patient-information-leaflets/pregnancy/pi-groupb-streptococcus-gbs-infection-in-newborn-babies.pdf

McBaby · 20/04/2017 11:27

@esmesbees raspberry leaf tea is not recommended if you have had a previous fast labour - the definition of fast seems to vary in a few places from less than 6 hours to less than 2! My two were 2 hours and then 45 mins to keeping well away.

Hisashiburi · 20/04/2017 11:37

Hi all. Hope you and bumps are keeping well. Sorry no response for a while but been at work....Still have 2 weeks to go and it's been so busy.... Ready to finish work now. 6/9 my NCT group are all booked in for (non elective) c sections which seems a large proportion! 1 month to go...Better sort out the hospital bag!

peasandquiet · 20/04/2017 11:55

Didn't know that about RLT I'm taking capsules and 1st labour was around 5-6 hours of contractions. Also a good 40mins-1hr from MLU, do you think I should stop?
Just off to reflexology to try and ease SPD pain, I'm at breaking point with it. Will let you know if it's a miracle cute 😂

EsmesBees · 20/04/2017 12:05

Thanks Mcbaby. Sounds like I should stop the tea then. I'm not quite sure how long mine was last time but around 4 hours. 45 minutes is amazing! Was that the time from the first contraction?

Good luck with the reflexology peas. Hope the pain improves.

yellowismyfavourite · 20/04/2017 12:28

Thanks esme tea badger newbie

Lovely to hear that babytea is doing so well and glad you are feeling better this morning tea
Good luck with the reflexology peas is that the one where they do it with your feet?

Northernexile · 20/04/2017 12:30

Hello everyone, welcome mrsE! There's so much to catch up on in a day- glad you got a bit more sleep tea- you are giving me hope! Glad you scan went well barnes, hopefully it's put your mind at rest. Good luck autumn and hope the sweep goes well yellow- not long now! Commiserations to the many insomniacs on the thread!

I'm 39 weeks today. I had my pre-op appointment at the hospital yesterday. They checked the baby's heart rate, took bloods etc and gave me my attractive flight socks 😀. I have to be in at 7 in the morning, and I'm first or second on the list, so barring emergencies, by this time tomorrow I should have baby update for you! Am now whizzing round like a mad person doing last minute washing, bag packing and leg shaving. Can't believe it's nearly time!
