Good thinking loler - the previous thread was geting huge - hopefully like we will be in the next few months

tokentotty · 09/03/2007 11:55

Like I have done in the LAST few months ! Anyway, well done Loler - glad someone has the technology as I sure don't.
Tell me more about the Peppermill, it looks like a 'must book' to me right now.

loler · 09/03/2007 12:38

you can see a picture of the fire pool here and reviews here .

We just stumbled on it by accident - there's a diner type place at the front which you walk through to go to the lounge. We didn't book we just turned up. The bar is open and dark 24 hours so when you're jet lag stops you sleeping you should be able to go and enjoy in peace! I really really want to go!!!

tokentotty · 09/03/2007 12:59

Oh dear God...that is the ONLY place I now want to go to. Have never seen anything so gloriously, kitschly (sp), fabulous before!
Anything else you did that you loved ? Open to anyone that question....

kiteflying · 09/03/2007 13:19

hello all. I have no news and no recommendations for TT, but just wanted to get on the new thread.

tokentotty · 09/03/2007 13:22

Did you get my CAT thingy ?? I got some weird mail back that was very confusing (hmmm...that doesn't say much right now). I think I have your RL e-mail address though so should I send Betty's number to it ?

kiteflying · 09/03/2007 13:36

TT, I am glad you ask as I did not know how to mention the strange email I had. It basically said that you were wanting to get in touch, gave your real address and mine and then said message follows, with a big blank following it...

I did not want to contact your real address if you were expecting it to work like a PM normally does on web forums, i.e. keeping your email address private, but you are welcome to use mine to send me the details.

Hope you are well. I am feeling a bit teary and hormonal today. I think it is because I have to book flights and hotels and really don't want to go away at all (I know I should but it is so stressful). I wish peanuthead was around to cry with.

tokentotty · 09/03/2007 13:38

Well to be honest Kite, it really wasn't what I was expecting at all. Still, is far from the end of my world and will happily mail the magic number to you soon.
Where is it you've got to book up to go to, I've obviously forgotten something again...

kiteflying · 09/03/2007 13:48

The partner I am working for is away the week I had wanted to book a holiday - week after next, so we have to go now, which means I have been scrabbling to book something since yesterday and I admit to having been reduced to tears at one point last night. I tried to suggest to BF that a quick drive to Wales or Ireland would be my preference but he was having none of it.

GillL · 09/03/2007 14:11

Hi everyone. All your talk of holidays is making me so jealous. We won't be going on holiday at all this year.

I've been feeling really awful the last few days - so low on energy. Really didn't help having 6 bottles of blood taken at the hospital yesterday.

Consultant appointment went really well. Heard the heartbeat which was really exciting.

tokentotty · 09/03/2007 14:27

Oh GillL that's a shame about not getting a break at all. Think us first timers will probably be exactly the same next time though!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling pretty low. Guess if you can manage a steak and spinach sandwich it might help . You should really be resting after having that much blood taken when you're feeling like you do but I guess that is easier said than done huh? Lovely to hear the heartbeat though, hopefully that's perked you up

GillL · 09/03/2007 14:42

Thanks TT. A rest would be nice and a steak sandwich

It was really nice to hear the heartbeat. It's easy to start worrying that something is wrong when you go so long between appointments, so it was reassuring that everything is progressing nicely.

Lovelybird - lol about your dh liking your bigger boobs (going back to the old thread). My dh is quite pleased as well.

pinkranger · 09/03/2007 14:48

hi ladies , not much to say juust wanted to jump on the new thread

well done on the Hb gill, i am waiting to feel movements as i havent felt anything yet, start to worry then remember that im not even 17 weeks yet!!!

boobooma · 09/03/2007 18:13

Hi everyone, me too waiting to feel movements as only 15+ weeks and cant wait to hear heartbeat at midwife appt next week.

Had a freak out today when me and ds got within 6ft of a little girl with masses of chicken pox on her scabby little face. Eeeek. Wanted to scream I'm pregnant, get away. Presume will be okay cos didn't get too near and I had it when I was a kid anyway but had the urge to run a 100 miles in the other direction.

treacletart · 09/03/2007 18:46

Hi all! How exciting a new thread! No real news from camp treacletart - nausea all but gone, tiredness quite a bit better, nasty groin/stretchy ligament pain comes and goes, think I might have felt a few popping baby flickers but only very faintly. Booked for anomoly scan on 28th March and plan is to find out the sex if we can but ask the sonographer to write it down on a card and pop it in an envelope rather than tell us. Then DH and I will go out for posh lunch and open the envelope together and make it a bit more special - we'll have a nice memento too I guess. DS was a surprise, but I just feel I'd like to be able to prepare in advance a bit with bargain hunting. I think it might be easier for DS to know in advance too - although like me he seems genuinely not to mind at all whether we have a boy or a girl.

loler · 09/03/2007 19:45

That's a really lovely idea.

I had another sneaky peak at the baby when I went to see the consultant - she couldn't find the heartbeat (not suprising at 15 weeks) so got the mobile scanner out as she said it would be quicker. Wonder if you can hire those in - was really comforting.

We're not going to ask the flavour - as found the suprise last time was 'something to push for!' Doesn't really matter what flavour it comes out as we've got names sorted which was my biggest worry!

lizziemun · 09/03/2007 20:22

I haven't posted much of late, like treacletart nausea all but gone, but i still can't stand the smell of food cooking also find when i have eaten about half a dinner i get the feeling of nausea, tiredness quite a bit better, nasty groin/stretchy ligament pain that comes and goes.

Also my dad has got his results he has got asbestoes, and has been given a year to 18months. The tumur has grown accross his left lung and his heart so he could have a heart attack at any time.

We are seeing him and his wife tomorrow.

lovelybird · 09/03/2007 21:00

lizziemum - so sorry to hear this sad news. Thinking of you.X

tokentotty · 10/03/2007 10:13

Oh lizziemun that's so sad. Am really feeling for you. How are you coping with the shock ? Big hug to you and your family xxx

lizziemun · 10/03/2007 21:24

Sorry not to get back to you sooner have been busy all day.

tokentotty, lovelybird thanks for your kind messages.

Tokentotty, it's been hard but we were sort of expecting it as dad been ill and in and out of hospital with problems with his lungs for last 2 years and it's been on the cards for to as long as he did his electrian apprentencship in the late 60's and early 70's.

Anyway on a good note dad (and stepmother) have just left and he look realy well.

tokentotty · 11/03/2007 15:39

Hey Lizziemun, it's nice to hear that you've seen him and he's looking well. Going from how I felt when my Dad was ill, it doesn't matter how much you might realistically expect to hear certain things, when you actually do it doesn't make them any easier to take. Sounds like you're doing ok though so good for you xxxx
Saw my midwife yesterday and was pleased to hear that all seems to be very well. On listening to Peanut's heartbeat she said she thought it might be a little girl which was lovely to hear as that's what we'd both quite like !!
Hope everyone's having lovely weekends

GillL · 12/03/2007 10:41

Morning all. Got my anomoly scan for 10th April. Really hoping to find out the sex. I'd been thinking for ages that I really wanted another girl but the more I think about it the more I feel it would be nice to have a boy.

Sorry to hear your news lizziemum. Hope you're coping ok.

tokentotty · 12/03/2007 11:20

Morning GillL, quick question - is the anomaly scan what I'd think of as the 20 week one or something you specifically ask for ?? If so, mine's on the 3rd and I can't wait either. Now my midwife's said she thinks it's a girl I'm not sure whether to try and confirm it or not ?? Hope you had a nice weekend.

Hersetta · 12/03/2007 11:38

TT,

yes the anomoly scan is your routine 20 week one. It's quite a detailed scan and they check all the organs are present, limbs and appendages all present and correct etc. They should be able to tell (as long as baby is helpful) the sex at this stage. Mine is not until April 19th due to a mix up at the hospital. They got my dates wrong so i now have to wait until I'm 21.4wks for my scan. DH really can't wait to find out the sex - we're both convinced it's a boy so will be nice to see if we're right.

I met the sister of a friend yesterday and she is due 1 day after me and already has a really, really noticeable bump (and it's her first too). I was quite jealous! Every weekend I put my jeans on and think maybe they won't fit this weekend, but they always do. Damm you jeans with lycra !!

Bought a couple of pairs of cropped maternity trousers on friday for our holiday in May but at this rate I won't need them. I want my bump!!
