Babbit · 12/03/2007 16:57

I don't have one called Felix btw, it is on the list if a boy.

katybird · 12/03/2007 16:58

There are some interesting names here too - apparently someone in Scotland called their son Christ last year...

www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files1/stats/pop-names-06-t4.pdf

BabyMadwithBump · 12/03/2007 16:58

Don't even go there, every soap DH is throwing names at me always tends to be the person I cant stand as well so it ends up really putting me off!

I was talking to DH about the fact we will be having LO in the 6 weeks hoilday last night, I really couldn't of timed that any better if I do say so myself, no early morning runs with new baby, I'm really pleased with myself for planning it so well LOL, and MIL always has them for sleep over almost every week in the 6 week hoilday too!

PurpleRabbit · 12/03/2007 20:42

Hi, same with me - girl's names are not a problem but stuck for a boy - DS has the only boy's name we both really like! Have my scan on Friday (when I'll only be 19+2!) but not going to ask the flavour as DH doesn't want to know, and I don't want to know if he doesn't.

Thank you to whoever recommended "There's a House inside My Mummy" - bought it for DS at the weekend and he loves it. There's a picture of a baby in a yellow babygro at the end, so now he's decided he wants "a yellow baby"!

itchyncsratchy · 12/03/2007 21:11

Hi! Can I join? I'm due August 23rd with 2nd babe but after a gap of 15 years! So bit nervous.. Had a scan last week- it's a girl and we're ecstatic!
Feeing huge already and itchy! The acne hasn't gone yet but no more nausea thankfully
Today been shopping for bras and bought loads of things all fashion is maternity right now
How's everyone else doing?

BabyMadwithBump · 12/03/2007 21:53

I brought and read "There's a House inside My Mummy" for DS#1 for when DS#2 was coming, now DS#1 is reading it to DS#2 which I found so funny when I was listening to him at the week end! BUT the lady has a boy in the story and my two have said that they want a sister and a sister only after reading the story, !

I love Alexander (DH wont let me have it), I also like Bailey, Corey, Finn/Finley/Flynn, Miles, Leo, Nathanial, Noah, Ryes, for a boy! And, Grace, Scarlet, Summer, Hannah (middle name) (I love my sister's name Trinity too) for a girl!

Girls names we like are, Caitlin/katelyn and Abbygail

pinkranger · 13/03/2007 08:50

Welcome itchyanscratcy - you find lots of help here , these girls are great!!
15 years gap - Possible built in baby sister !!! -

my ds came out of nursery the other week with one of them "first experinces' books called 'ben gets a new baby' which was a really good book and because his name is Ben the teachers all wrote in it the following week and have let him keep it , that made me cry!!!

GillL · 13/03/2007 11:02

You've got great taste in names BabyMad My dd is called Katelyn.

That book is great. dd loves it.

tokentotty · 13/03/2007 11:19

Hello Itchy, hello all. Another lovely day here in da Wharf... Just chatting with my best friend over in Australia who's pregnant again which is lovely news. She's having really bad morning sickness at the moment, or rather was... She's had acupuncture for it and says the difference has been amazing. Perhaps that's one to try for all those here still suffering ??

So, what else is new today ?

Mrsshuvel · 13/03/2007 12:07

Hi Everyone, welcome Itchy

Had a bit of a nightmare this morning. Put on some trousers for work that fitted me fine last week. They were really digging in by the time i reached the office and are now being held together by a safety pin. I have two pairs of these and about five tops that can be worn with them. Oh well excuse for more shopping but was hoping to hold out until i went to america next month as everything's far cheaper over there.

Had even more of a nightmare last night. Our washing machine has been on it's last legs for a while now but i've been in denial about it. I put a load on and went upsatirs, 10 mins later DP calls me to say the door had flown open and water was pouring all over the floor. He managed to wedge the mop against it and a cupboard to keep thwe door shut to finish the load but its finally died on me. Can anyone recommend a good one that can take a battering? - it gets used about twice a day at the moment and more at weekends and thats before any babies.

loler · 13/03/2007 12:07

Blimey it's busy in here.

Am very stuck at work - got complete pg brain in today and can't remember how to work our computer system!

Being put off by uncomfortably tight trousers - will really have to get around to buying mat clothes (gave all mine away as was never never never going to have any more!). Got the Simon Cowell look at the moment - pulling waist bands above newly showing fast expanding bump!

We're not finding out the baby flavour but having had a girl and a boy it's fun comparing pg symptoms and trying to guess which this will be. Was discussing with friends and seems 2 quite reliable signs are - getting a bit of a furry tummy (nice!) = girl, losing interest in the bedroom department (sorry if tmi!) = girl. Begining to see definate signs of both of these - will please DD as she keeps saying she can't have another naughty brother!

OP posts:
Mrsshuvel · 13/03/2007 12:21

Oooooh Loler, I have both those symtoms and DP convinced i'm having a girl because he dreamt about it. I'll let you know next tues if i find out at scan.

I definitely have PG brain today as can't spell the simplest of words and have to keep using word's spell check.

tigeryuan · 13/03/2007 12:38

Hi ladies!
May I join? I'm expecting my 2nd on the 15 Aug! Bump is huge, but still don?t understand why on one has offered me their seat on the train yet!
I don?t feel my baby movement much and it does worry me!

My MS is quite bad this time by comparing to my last pregnancy. few ppl told me that I might having a girl! I really want a girl and looking for my next scan to find out the sex!

Mrsshuvel ? I received a letter from st. Thomas yesterday to see the midwife. So, I assume that they?ve accepted my booking.

What a lovely day! Time to go out to enjoy lunch now!

Mrsshuvel · 13/03/2007 12:43

Hiya Tiger

Woo hoo about St Thomas', i knew that Dr just needed a kick!

tigeryuan · 13/03/2007 12:45

thanks Mrsshuvel! I'm not going anywhere if you didnt advice me what to do TBH!

tokentotty · 13/03/2007 12:48

What happened Tiger ?? And a big welcome to you obviously !! Was just thinking about Kiteflying and her problems with getting a hospital etc...

Mrsshuvel · 13/03/2007 12:53

Yes, i hope everything sorts itself out for her too.

jem1969 · 13/03/2007 14:14

Afternoon everybody- Haven't been on this thread for a while (look a lot)but have zero inclination to do any work at all. Keep looking at prams on the internet and getting very confused. Out in the sunshine at lunchtime to M&S (London Marble Arch branch)to look at their maternity stuff. Really quite nice and not too expensive. T-shirts were about £2 more than the ones in Dorothy perkins and felt much nicer.

Trying to hold out buying much until go to New York next week but absolutely nothing fits over my 17 week bump and like somebody else said earlier, can't believe how much better it feels to have maternity clothes on.

Bought THE comfiest smart pair of black trousers from Crave- twice the price of my Top Shop ones and about 100 times more comfortable. Wear them almost every day so not too worried about spending a bit more.

Got offered a seat on the tube (by a girl)for the first time last week- was rather shocked. Didn't last though- no such luck this week

tokentotty · 13/03/2007 14:32

Hello Jem, know what you mean about the great outdoors today. Can't bring myself to go out as there's no way I'd come back if I did. Think am going to leave early today by smiling my sweetest smile and rubbing my tired eyes.... Doesn't weather like this make you feel so much better about everything?
Tell me more about these 'Crave' trousers. Are they actually maternity wear?

jem1969 · 13/03/2007 14:41

Yes- Crave is a maternity shop. Can't do a link but google 'Crave Maternity' and the website comes up. They are mainly on line but I went to the shop on Kings Road (I think you are in London?). If you sign up to their mailing list they are always sending through special offers. Also ordered a few bits and pieces from Isabelle Oliver- smart stuff as I have a couple of smart things to go to but didn't really like any of it and thought was too expensive for what it was. Didn't fit me well at all

Got some stuff in Seraphine too- mailorder and shops in Kensington and Hampstead. Cheaper than I thought it would be given the shop locations and good sale stuff. Can't beat my H&M t-shirts though!

Some bloke at work recommended Push Maternity in Islington-his wife likes it. One look at the website convinced me he is earning FAR too much
