Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

hi thought id post on new thread! hope every ones ok, i seem to read thread but when time to post never get round to it

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:13

Hi all!! Trace2 I had to go to a wedding and stay the night as dp was best man and had to be there for the whole event. DD was about 6 weeks old at the time! It was really awful and not something I would repeat again! Although I left her with my parents and was not concerned for her wellbeing I was still on edge the whole night. And the boob leakage-it was awful! I had to express every two hours throughout the afternoon and evening! Luckily I had just bought an electric pump so it wasn't too bad. In the morning, however, I woke up and my boobs were literally spraying milk everywhere! The whole bed was soaking wet and the pain was agonising! I felt really sorry for the poor hotel person that had to make up the bed after we left!! If I were you I would go and take a breast pump with you just in case of engorgement!

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:14

Shit, sorry that was meant for Marylou!! I'm getting dumber by the second!!

Kelly1978 · 09/03/2007 16:15

Love the title

trace2 · 09/03/2007 16:16

holly i guessed that lol its ok i do same.

yes i love title too

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 16:16

Ahhh, have we put all you first-timers off breastfeeding yet?
My friend brought your new boyfriend round to meet us just after the birth of DD. His face when I whipped cabbage leaves out of my bra!!

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:17

Mmmm...you should have boiled the cabbage leaves and served them to him with mash and gravy!!

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 16:18

lol!!!

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:19

Need to get off the computer! I still have about a million chores to do! At least I have hoovered and been to the shop! Must clean the bathroom! It's such a tedious job!

willywonka · 09/03/2007 16:19

What was your friend doing with my boyfriend, foxy?

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:20

Ha ha, foxy are you losing your mind too?

marylou23 · 09/03/2007 16:22

Thank you everyone! H&A, I'm sorry to laugh at your pain, but I did crease up reading about the milk spraying everywhere. I didn't even consider that!!
But, seriously, thanks very much - sounds like I'll be able to make a proper appearance whcih I know DH will really appreciate. I don't want him feeling like life grinds to a halt just because we've got a baby (particularly a baby who's already booted him out of his study... )
What a fab day. Is everyone basking in sunshine?
And I LOVE the thread name. It's my new mantra...
Bump, I'm sure the tears are mainly tiredness and hormones. I'm really lucky, I work from home, so I feel on quite an even keel, but as soon as I'm out of my comfort zone (out with friends of DH, at MILs, in busy shopping centre etc) I feel myself getting anxious/stressed/grumpy/miserable really quickly. At Christmas at my MILs I nearly cried several times over the most ridiculous things and got really angry about perfectly anodyne comments - ultimately I just wanted to be at home, doing what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. Roll on your maternity leave...

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 16:22

oops!

past tense, lost it a long time ago.

Go and clean your bathroom, you said you were going to do it two hours ago H&A!

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 16:24

BTW the cabbage leaves really do work!

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:25

I cried at Crufts yesterday!!!
There was a really cute hearing dog who made a deaf old man really happy! His wife had died and the dog was his only companion and did loads of chores for him. Am I a little hormonal too? Yes!

hollyandalice · 09/03/2007 16:26

Yeah I know, but I had to go to the shop and get something for dinner. Eating is more important than bathroom cleaning!

sputnik · 09/03/2007 16:36

Oh brilliant Bumper. You have hit the nail on the head with the thread title. And there was me over on the old one thinking we need a new thread and what shall we call it...

trace2 · 09/03/2007 16:40

am a bit down at the moment, i was due next week! tis was an early m/c, but at least i look forward to this baby.

i was told having a girl, just dare not buy anything for girl just incase its a boy any one else same

sputnik · 09/03/2007 16:44

I cried yesterday when some grumpy old git acused me of blocking his garage while I was 2 minutes gone picking DD up from nursery (not in front of him, luckily). He arrived when I did and there was plenty of room for him to get out. Old fart. Anyway, I think if I had to deal with offices, any form of even slight confrontation etc.I'd probably spend the entire time crying in the bog.

I cleaned my bathroom already, nah nah. The rest of the house, on the other hand....

marylou23 · 09/03/2007 16:44

Trace, I'm so sorry. But you're right, you've got something wonderful to look forward to.
(Although all those cabbage leaf comments have got me wondering about the possibility of hiring a wet nurse... )

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 16:56

Sorry to hear that Trace

willywonka · 09/03/2007 17:03

Really sorry Trace . Am pg after sb last year and am not buying a thing until at least 35 wks cos I don't want to tempt fate. Really glad you've something to look forward to over this difficult period and look forward to hearing that your baby girl has become a big sister soon, even though she's not with you .

foxybrown · 09/03/2007 17:13
Sad
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 09/03/2007 17:38

I cried watching Crufts yesterday too. When they go through the nominations for those special dogs that help people out I totally blub! Especially the one who gets the washing out of the dryer! DH getting great pleasure in taking the piss out of me! Also nearly cried when ordered Travel System - spending the sort of money I'd prefer to spend on a fab holiday!?
