I can hear dh snoring in the lounge - a busy day looking after the boys has worn him out!

WestCountryLass · 10/03/2007 22:13

Hahaha at your D

Mine went to bed the same time as the kids, lightweight!

octopussyintummy · 10/03/2007 22:14

not worried about the pain you're in then!

WestCountryLass · 10/03/2007 22:19

Not likely!

With DS I had been having pains at work all day. When he came home from work I said we'd better go in and he was reluctant and drove really jerky all the way with me ouching as he swerved the corners and hammered the breaks on. To be fair he had been in London all day, had a long day and thought I was 'making it up'.

With DD my waters broke at 3 in the morning. I never bothered waking him up til 5.30am when I thought i'd better ring the midwife.

octopussyintummy · 10/03/2007 22:24

If my dh questionned whether I was in sufficient pain to go to hosptial yet when I was clearly in pain - I really don;t know what I would say or do to him but be assured we would be going to hospital!

WestCountryLass · 10/03/2007 22:28

Well, quite, we did get there, infact his driving skills probably ensured it was labour!

Hopefully having another homebirth this time and so don't see the point of waking him up until if/when I need him.

Hello everyone,
am feeling a bit today for a variety of reasons. Think I'm just tired.

Morning everyone,

How are you all? Anything come of your pains, WCL? We had a lovely day yesterday at friends' house - kids played well, good company and lovely food.

Well in three days' time this little one will officially be 'term' - i.e. 37 weeks. So exciting. DH has finally got his hospital appt through and is flying back to UK on Tuesday evening. Hasn't booked his return flight in case they want to schedule further tests but hopefully will be back by the weekend. Then he has to fly back for two nights the following week too. So hopefully baby will stay put into week 39 when he will be back and MIL will be here to look after the rest of the clan. Although I still get excited with every tiny twinge.

Have a good Sunday.

Hi Katy, are you feeling better?

Katy44 · 11/03/2007 08:19

Yes, thanks, just a misery last night!
I can't believe so many of you are now almost done! I still feel my due date's a long way away as I'm only 34 weeks.
CB, hope your DH's appointment goes well

OP posts:
maveta · 11/03/2007 08:27

CB - hope all goes well for your dh and that if they need to poke and prod him further he can get it all over and done with asap and back to you!

Oh Katy44 - I know how you feel. I am not 34 weeks til tuesday.. you won´t be alone!!

Actually, despite all my earlier worry about the last few weeks dragging, at the moment I´ve had a bit of anxiety and nerves come back again so am not in toooo much of a rush. I definitely don´t want it to drag and I know by the end I´ll be screaming for someone to get this baby out of me but right now, it´s a little bit scary so let´s not rush anything thank you very much

Emmymummy · 11/03/2007 08:59

Maveta I'm due on the same day as you and am definately having due date envy (as someone described it earlier). Just want to get on with getting through the dreaded first few weeks, stop waddling, and get back into shape again. Am SOOOOOO bored of people giving me sympathetic looks when I tell them I've still got at least 6 weeks to go! Plus have just been reading a magazine about running and getting fit, and I just want to get back out here again.

Eddas · 11/03/2007 09:04

Morning, i have to say i am glad mine is due the 2nd!!! If it'd been dd i would've wanted to kill those who had their baby before me and that would've been most people(she was due 27th May, came 10th June!!!).

I'm not expecting to see this one until the 16th as dd was two weeks late but i live in hope that i'll have a march baby

Emmymummy · 11/03/2007 09:11

See Eddas, I'm of you already!

mammyjo · 11/03/2007 09:19

Morning all.

SOSPL, the quit nits was from boots, it was on the shelf with all the other nit remedies but I found it really good. Just smells a bit menthol due to the oils in it but no chemicals so I would hope it would be safe for use in pregnancy. There is nothing to say it isnt on the one I have here in the house.

Eddas, hope things go ok with your dad and step mum today. Sympathise with you as I am finding it very hard to bite my tongue when people make crap comments! Good Luck!

Maveta, hope lunch goes ok today. Thats what happens when you are Nigella in the kitchen!

WCL, how are you this morning?

Clarice, hope your dh will be sorted out soon. Really feel for you on your own with dc's. I am finding it hard enough with ds to cope with and my dh is here every evening to take a bit of the work over.

1b3, glad you are feeling a bit better and that you are sorting things with dh. Everything just seems a millions times more stressful at the moment doesnt it.

flumppootle · 11/03/2007 09:21

Morning

Hope that you are feeling better today octo. I do live in Swindon at the moment but lived in Chippenham when I had dd2. How was your pudding???

Katy hope that today is a brighter day

Maveta, putting vaseline on a newborns bottom helps the meconium to slide off easily with either cotton wool or flannels etc. It was one of the first things I packed for bump!
Blimey, 11 for lunch again! With language barriers! Much respect Maveta, you are one brave girl.

Clarice, not long now! Sending speedy returning vibes to your dh from his trip for his tests...

Lovely day here again, think that we might try and attack the garden. Like the idea in theory but not sure how practical its going to be

mammyjo · 11/03/2007 09:31

I am officially 37 weeks today so only 3 weeks til d day (or less hopefully)! Apologies to all those with due date envy! I just cant wait to get it all over and done with now. I want to be able to sleep on my tummy!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 11/03/2007 09:40

Morning all.

Mammyjo thanks for the note re quit nits. I'll have a look for it today. I used Full Marks Mousse on B's hair last night, but don't like using the chemical stuff. I just wanted something easy as I am having to do her hair so often as she keeps getting the bloody things from school the whole time.

CB, really hope your dh is ok and he can be returned to the fold as it were. You sound very upbeat considering - hats off to you.

Maveta, can't believe you have another load for lunch today! Good Luck!

I think I am last re due date - end of April! And GMM is due about the same time. I hope she is ok - has anyone heard from her?

Had a better night last night. B was awake for a while, but just the once at least and then slept until 8.00! LOVELY JUBBLY!
And, she was dry - hurrah!

It is a gorgeous day here today, so we are off to the beach for the day. Need to get butt in gear. Have a lovely day all, and apologies for not mentioning everyone in person.

See you later. xx

Eddas · 11/03/2007 09:41

Mammyjo, thanks for the good luck, may well need it. Fingers crossed not though, i'll let you know if she ends up floored!!DH thought i was going to at one point on boxing day! Had to go to the loo and calm myself!!!

Sorry to all about the due date envy! Think i've said before but with dd i had to be induced so was in hosiptal and got very & everytime another woman came in and was told they were ready for the delivery room and i wasn't even dilated at all!!! Was gonna do a rachel from friends(love that programme) and shout no i came in first she can wait!!!

zazas · 11/03/2007 09:49

Morning All. Hope you are feeling better 1Becomes3. In my experience men find it difficult if they can't fix your problem - like take away your fears with regard to having 3 little ones - give them something practical to do and they are as happy as can be! My DP was so upset at me when I told him I was so miserable being pregnant when I was throwing up all the time - asked me if I even wanted the baby!!!! All I wanted was a bit of sympathy but then he decided to clean the toilet so at least it was nice for me to throw up into and he felt much better that he had done something to help

Hensden - that is funny about the credit card bill!
Maveta - I hope lunch goes well with 11.
Mammyjo - I am with you re sleeping on your tummy - desperate too. With my first I was in NZ in summer and I used to go to the beach and dig a hole in the sand just so I could do that!

Westcountrylass - I'm also having a homebirth - have started to get things ready as I believe that they will be dropping off the birthing kit within the week - when I get to 37 weeks. So looking forward to staying at home although last time I ended up in a CS under a general due to a rare brow presentation so are realistic that things don't always go to plan. Juggling the kids is my biggest concern - I also have a doula so there are enough people around so I know they will be taken care of and they are old enough to know that they will have to give me space...

Have just got to order the birthing pool now - so had better go find a thread that advises on the different ones - this is what the kids are most excited about

maveta · 11/03/2007 10:13

Thanks for the support re. today´s lunch! feel knackered already, like I could just crawl back into bed.. blah.

Just looked at the very first photo we did when I was about 6 weeks pregnant...oh my lovely flat flat flat almost concave stomach..whereforartthou? Dh came and looked and wailed ´where are you baby??!´ which made me feel a whole lot better

I miss my flat tummy...

maveta · 11/03/2007 10:20

Have uploaded photo of my tummy (sob!) to my profile.. and to think - TO THINK - I was a) not holding my stomach in for the photo and b) was feeling ´podgy´.

Can I just go back in time and slap myself please?? Yes, any of you can join in too...

maveta · 11/03/2007 10:20

Of course, I mean my EX-tummy.

eca · 11/03/2007 11:02

morning everyone,

Katy and 1b3 glad you are feeling a bit better.

CB - hope dh's appointment goes well and is back with you soon!

Maveta! - wow your tum was impressive. I have no sympathy for you re:feeling fat anymore, it's about time you experienced the other side!

hello everyone else. hope you ar enjoying you sunday!

I'm having slow day today. Had NCT antenatal all day yesterday and then had meltdown last night. Not really recovered from being ill yet and stressing about work. I'm desperately trying to carry on with my job until april (due14th) coz i want to keep it up as long as poss and I only started it in Jan! However, the next couple of weeks look a nightmare (really busy and my co-worker's diary completely clashes with mine) and I'm so worried i'm going to end up sick again. Not sure what to do. Dh is being a love and has even offered to cover some of my hours (he's a volunteer on the youth project anyway), but i still managed to have hysterics last night.

Feeling a bit better today. Wish I didn't get myself worked up over relatively unimportant things. And of course being preg doesn't help!
