london I've found Boots good and cheap for gender-neutral stuff. Sainsbury's also occasionally has something.

oliversmummy26 · 08/05/2017 10:09

I know this is still early days, (I'm 22+1 today) but just wondering if anyone has ever had a baby that found a position and stuck with it?

I am feeling loads and loads of movements, but they are only ever really low down, like baby is dancing on my cerix Smile this in itself isn't an issue, but at my 20 scan baby was lying across my tummy, looking down and at the one before that he was the same...

Just wondering if he might now stay there! Sometimes it feels like he's rolling over (this makes me feel sick!) and I can usually feel him on my left side when I lie on my back (left is hard and right is spongy!). But I have felt nothing above or anywhere near my belly button yet!

oliversmummy26 · 08/05/2017 10:10

PS. would be nice to let other people feel baby move, but at the moment they would have to get my hand almost down my pants to feel anything...so just DH so far!

EssentialHummus · 08/05/2017 10:14

london I've also just found a few more gender-neutral (safari-themed) bits in Tesco, also very cheap.

fluffywallow · 08/05/2017 12:59

Haven't been around much lately as have been battling a chesty cough this past week - have given in today and come home from work. Think the endless coughing was annoying my colleagues!

I found Sainsbury's did good gender neutral stuff last time - but yes, I agree, there's not much out there.

Had a great time yesterday sorting out my dds old clothes and putting them in boxes ready for dd2! Children sure do get through a lot of clothes Shock

calimommy · 08/05/2017 17:09

olivers mine tend to go head down very early on. I've been told it's probably the shape of my uterus that it's just the most comfortable position. I suppose at this stage the uterus isn't that big yet either, it's probably just at or over the belly button, so it makes sense that the movements are still felt low. It won't be felt up top until the uterus is against the skin there. I'm the same. It's like he's dancing on my cervix some days.

calimommy · 08/05/2017 17:12

Sorry, as in movements won't be felt by others at the top until the uterus grows larger. I do get occasional kicks at the fundus but mostly lower down.

oliversmummy26 · 09/05/2017 12:18

Thanks Cali I know they are still fairly low down really, but it just feels odd that I've had nothing really above cervix level! Either way it will be fine Smile

Frillyhorseyknickers · 09/05/2017 14:29

Afternoon all. Anomaly scan this morning - everything went fine, baby all happy and healthy and growing as it should.

I'm really miffed I've got an anterior placenta and they said I won't be able to feel as much kicking etc until later on. Any experiences? I have felt flutters and thuds but was beginning to worry last week I wasn't feeling that much.

frilly so glad you've had your scan at last. I've also got an anterior placenta. At 23+1 I'm starting to feel regular and quite strong kicks in bed in the evening. Felt nothing until a week ago.

Travelgeek · 09/05/2017 15:24

Great news frilly. I'm 22+4 with my first and an anterior placenta. I'm definitely feeling movement more strongly now than a week or two ago but its still some days more than others and I'm guesing thats depending what position she is in that day! I quite regularly feel thuds late morning between 11 and 12. But I am sat quietly working then and now look out for them then so more maybe more noticeable than when I'm rushing around busy. Plus some movement at night if I've not dropped off to sleep in 5 seconds. Still have panicky moments that I've not felt enough that day. Don't think its good for me to stress about it so much given not in third tri yet and anterior placenta.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 09/05/2017 21:03

Thanks both! That's positive - suppose I just have to be patient now - I'm such a worrier!!

We had agreed we didn't want to find out sex but when the sonographer was advising us to look away my DH was glued to the screen. I actually regret not finding out now! Confused I can't guess from the scan pictures!

Frilly I had an anterior placenta last pregnancy and I have it again, it was a big of a pain for movement until somewhere around 24 weeks when it was definetively improved it's so hard not to worry when u have that placenta but once baby gets bigger it's defo less obvious

LouLou030783 · 10/05/2017 12:11

I reckon u have a boy there

NutCase82 · 10/05/2017 12:51

My placenta is anterior too and mostly the feeling I get is like a brewing fart! And yes any of that movement/feeling is very low too and not reaching the belly button level. My bf keeps his hand on me in bed and he can feel it on his hand sometimes when I can't feel it inside!!
Found out we're having a girl and I'm absolutely over the moon as this will be my only baby and desperately wanted a girl as bf has a son already.
My feet are killing too, especially the ball and heel area, I'm on my feet all day at work and not sure what to do to help the pain - someone up thread had been advised to stop whatever makes it worse - not so simple when the job includes walking all day!

oliversmummy26 · 10/05/2017 13:11

Is anyone suffering from pelvic pain yet? My fanjo feels like it's on fire most of the time! It's especially worse trying to get trousers on and when rolling over in bed, so am now getting dressed sitting down. I sit at a desk all day, so definitely not over exerting myself.

I'm not in agony by any means, but it's definitely got worse over the last couple of weeks, I didn't have this with my first, and wondering weather to make a trip to the GP or wait and speak to my MW when I see her at the end of the week...can physiotherapy really help? As I understand that and exercises is pretty much all I can expect..?

22+3 today

Lules · 10/05/2017 13:43

Yes I am too olivers. My hip never really recovered from my 1st pregnancy. I have a GP appointment next week. On the plus side, this is the first day I haven't felt sick which is amazing.

When do other people have MW appointments? I only had a 16 week one and then nothing til 28 (with the scan at 19) as it's my 2nd.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 10/05/2017 15:44

I have a fair bit of pelvic pain olivers. I find getting up from sitting the worst, and rolling over in bed, but walking any distance and generally moving hurts too! I have a coccyx cushion and support belt but not doing much. My midwife was chocolate teapot like on the matter so I've given in and booked a Gp appt for next week in the hope I can get a physio referral.

oliversmummy26 · 10/05/2017 16:38

Lules I shouldn't be seeing my midwife until 28 weeks, but I felt like that was just too long, so booked myself in for the 25 week appointment as if it were my first. She did say I could see her any time.

Sounds like you're suffering exactly the same as me Ruth I think I might have to book myself in with GP for next week, I have a huge list of things (headaches, heartburn, cough, pelvic pain) to discuss, so probably would be worthwhile as I imagine MW will just send me to him anyway!

SayItIsntSo1 · 10/05/2017 17:15

20wk scan all done and dusted this afternoon! Baby would not keep still and we got to see lots of him moving around, which was lovely even if I still can't feel most of it! bloody anterior placenta

We had a doctor doing some training on the equipment, so once the sonographer was finished we got some extra time looking at baby. We must have been in there for a good 30 minutes Grin

Anyone else had their whooping cough vaccine? I had mine after the scan and the midwife suggested it's pretty uncomfortable for a few days, but I don't remember that from dd.

LouLou030783 · 10/05/2017 17:19

Sayitisnt I was absolutely fine after mine

Glad scan went well

Oh Oliver's that's not so good bout pelvic pain hope it eases same for anyone else suffering with it I know it's not easy

Fruitcorner123 · 10/05/2017 20:02

Hi i don't think I've posted on here before, hope it's ok to join. I am 20+3 and have my scan tomorrow yay!

Frillyhorseyknickers i had an anterior placenta with my other two and don't worry by 24 weeks i was still feeling regular movements at fairly regular times. However I did have to go in with my DS three times because of lack of movement. They like to check you if there are any changes so dot be worried about going in. Each time he was fine and they said it must just be the placenta but they still said I should always come back to check so i did. It wasn't great but it did mean we got an extra scan at about 28 weeks! My DD was more active and still anterior placenta so they're all different.

LouLou030783 · 10/05/2017 20:23
