Just back from 20 week scan, all looking good, baby has a big tummy and long thigh, but other than that all average and correct for my dates. There is a little bleed which she spotted (nothing to worry about) and I have a posterior placenta, she did say it was low and close to cervix but would more than likely move up. She put on my report that it was posterior and high though, which has confused me!

I have completely given up on shaving my Minnie, to be honest DH tends to job it for me every now and then with his trimmer! lol Been pretty good with shaving my legs so far, though I expect that will be pretty impossible in a few weeks time. Certainly in the shower..

I need to rant. I hate being pregnant. It's like being required to be superwoman.

Still being sick. Fainted for the 2nd time in 3 days on my way to work. Felt and looked really ill so someone called an ambulance. Took me to hospital. Did some checks which were fine and told me there wasn't anything they could do and I was feeling loads better by that point. Thought at least I'd get an afternoon in bed but no nursery rang as toddler has fucking conjunctivitis. GP won't give anything for it and can't get anything from the pharmacy as he's too young. And my pelvis hurts.

I have tons of deadlines for work. Work have been great so I can leave some stuff but some are external (book/journal articles) so can't be altered. This is all too much.

SuziePink · 26/04/2017 15:29

Lules sorry you're having a difficult time. Have you thought about signing yourself off sick or seeing your gp?

Travelgeek · 26/04/2017 15:34

Glad all is well olivers.

No sure I could face someone else waxing down there fluffy!

Yes to the dreams too nut. Hope they pass for you if they are dragging up unpleasant memories.

Lules · 26/04/2017 15:48

I could. I knew it was stupid trying to go in today but there was a conference I was giving a paper at. I would still have some work I'd have to do and if my toddler is off nursery I obviously have to look after him. There are also really tight marking deadlines for work so being off would be stressful for other people but maybe I can't help that.

oliversmummy26 · 26/04/2017 16:50

Oh Lules so sorry you're having a shit time...pregnancy absolutely sucks! I'd forgotten how much hard work it was. There's no glow and feeling energetic and lovely for me. It's all exhaustion, indigestion, heartburn and headaches here! Sad

If your little one has conjunctivitis, best thing for him is boiled water and cottonwool. Wipe his eyes with the cottonwool, use it while it's still hot, as hot as you can stand, and make sure you use different cottonwool for each eye...My DS had it when he was only a couple of weeks old and midwife suggested breastmilk...don't suppose you have any of that yet/anymore? Know anyone breastfeeding at the moment! It was a miracle cure, squirted a bit in his eye and it had cleared up in no time!

Lules · 26/04/2017 16:56

Thanks olivers. I have been trying the boiled water and cotton wool but the stuff is like glue and really hard to get off. And he cries because I have to pin him down to do it so it just gunks up straight after.

Travelgeek · 26/04/2017 17:16

Ah lules, Cake and Flowers for feeling so pants still. Even if you have to look after little one and pick up some bits of work if you get signed off you will get a bit more time and pressure off and you need and deserve that. I'm sure you've helped colleagues in the past and will in the future. They will understand and wine or chocolates would go down well.

LouLou030783 · 26/04/2017 17:37

Ah Lules so sorry ur having a crap time x hopefully the rest of ur pregnancy isn't so bad

SuziePink · 26/04/2017 17:43

Lules do you work at a uni?

Lules · 26/04/2017 18:00

Thanks for your support everyone. Yeah I do suzie

fluffywallow · 26/04/2017 18:13

So sorry you're feeling rough still Lules Flowers

Do whatever you need for you and baby - if that means taking a little time off then do it!

WhiteLily86 · 27/04/2017 11:39

Morning all, 21 weeks feel like pregnancy is flying by and want it all to slow down. 20 week scan was good, although was difficult to make out what they were looking at half the time, even with them telling us ha.

Finally DTD! Can't believe it has been so long, but was very nervous, all was ok but was difficult to remove baby from my thoughts, bit of a mood killer. Is everyone else back to normal in this way?

Off on a Mediterranean cruise next week so something to look forward to, last ditch couple holiday before baby comes and changes our lives!

Still haven't found out sex and see that most of you are finding out. Any regrets finding out? We originally wanted to but have now changed our minds.

4 months left of work...going to start counting down the days!!

Sorry you are feeling poorly lules Flowers

Anyone got any weird cravings yet? I don't. Although have just recently remembered how good white chocolate is and am eating it by the bag load Grin

EssentialHummus · 27/04/2017 11:45

difficult to make out what they were looking at half the time, even with them telling us ha.

I had this - "Oh look, she's turned her head and is looking at you!" Couldn't see a thing, I thought we were looking at her bum Blush.

I'm glad we found out that it's a girl. I expected and to some extent hoped for a boy, and I'm grateful to have the time to think about what it means to me to have a girl.

On cravings, nothing too out there but I'm living on a diet of tinned veggie soup at the minute - just don't feel like much else. I think it probably has more salt than I'd like but otherwise OK so I'm going with it. Still off meat that looks like meat.

fluffywallow · 27/04/2017 12:41

Had whooping cough jab yesterday - nurse made me worry I'd be in pain with it as I'd only had it 'recently' with my DD but sore arm has gone today. Also got gp to leave my matb1 form behind the counter so that's done too - successful day!

White - we didn't find out with our first and I loved that, felt there was no need to really as needed to get lots of things anyway and it's nice to have a surprise. Have found out this time and I love it too - feels really nice to know what I'm carrying and to be able to refer to her as a sister for DD1. And practically it's v helpful as I now know I can just sort and reuse dd1s clothes. Definitely no right or wrong way in my eyes.

oliversmummy26 · 27/04/2017 13:29

whitelily we are still DTD but not as often as we used to (pre-pregnancy it was probably 4-5 times per week and DH worked away Mon - Thurs)...now we're lucky if we manage twice a week...and I can tell DH is not happy about it! But to be perfectly honest, growing a human is exhausting adding sex to that is sometimes just too much!

(I do find myself wanting to just disappear to bed and "help myself" every now and then though, without the palaver of DTD...DH does daily, so why can't I?! Wink

Travelgeek · 27/04/2017 17:48

No regrets finding out that it's a girl here. We were really struggling for boys name ideas so it saves worrying about that. And it makes it a bit more real, imagining life with baby and talking about our views on parenting is easier when we know.

No wierd cravings but realised once I no longer wanted them that I had eaten about 4 satsumas a day for a couple of weeks, had the odd craving for a glass of milk which I wouldn't normally drink.

calimommy · 27/04/2017 18:33

I had a significant Braxton Hicks last night. It started as a tightening and discomfort as usual but then I had strong pain in my back. I have them quite a bit and have with the other two babies too, but I was slightly uneasy afterwards about the pain into my back. Also it lasted for a good 5 mins. I usually get them when I'm tired and/or dehydrated. I probably drank too much caffeine on top of everything, tiredness breeds thirst.. 🙄 shattered again this morning because my children hate me I mean don't sleep so having a relaxing morning. Baby is as busy as usual and a quick listen on the Doppler showed the heart rate was fine as well. Anyone have painful BH?

fluffywallow · 27/04/2017 18:36

I have very uncomfortable braxton hicks Cali - they've just started, usually set off by standing up or walking. My bump goes super tight and sore and then usually goes as soon as I stop doing whatever caused it.

Last time by the end I was basically in an almost permanent state of braxton hicks!

calimommy · 27/04/2017 18:47

fluffy yeah in hind sight my second labour was probably mostly painless contractions which I assumed were still BH for the day before then finally painful at the very end. But it's too early for that!

Lules · 27/04/2017 19:18

I've had painless BH but not Ines which hurt yet.

Feeling much better today. Mum came up to look after my son and I napped for 3 hours. Was meant to have a birth reflections meeting to go through my previous birth but they cancelled it. Have my 20 week scan tomorrow. I'm 18+6 today. Due 23rd sept.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 27/04/2017 20:47

White No regrets finding out here. We didn't find out with DS, but this has helped make it more real for him I think. Also helps know to keep hold of all his old clothes.

I've given in and ordered a coccyx pillow to sit on at work and a support belt. Looks like such an attractive piece of kit!

Travelgeek · 28/04/2017 08:13

Glad you're feeling better Lules and you got a few hours help. Good luck with the scan today.

Don't think I've had any Braxton Hicks yet...

Lules · 28/04/2017 19:13

All good with the scan. It's another boy. He's slightly small but within normal range. He wouldn't stop moving!

calimommy · 28/04/2017 19:21

Congrats Lules! 3rd boy here, I'm a boy mama I guess x
