Esmes nothing online but I have appointments at 34 and 36 weeks so should cover birth at those.

Bright movement in my ribs is so uncomfortable sometimes, it's crazy!

PeachIcedT · 17/03/2017 18:08

I bought that app cox but (am not sure if it's just weird lack of notifications on my phone) but I still forget to use it! I'm not sure it's quite worth £2.99 but it's useful if it reminds you! This is a good reminder in fact I must do my exercises...

Bright I agree Lidl was disappointing, and at risk of me sounding like a broken record, my ribs are so sore, it's like they are stinging! At one point at work I yelped out 'please don't do that!'.

Ticky your classes sound far more comprehensive than my NHS one (two hours about labour). But I'm hoping NCT fills in the blanks.

growcookeat · 17/03/2017 18:12

1004 yes! Either way too hot or shivering.

Bright what sunshine?! It's been grey and raining all day here Sad

Mrsjw & teaspoon I felt awkward at the first couple of NCT classes too. I obviously wasn't the only one as lots of people were making too many jokes and laughing too much! This weeks was better as people are more relaxed now we've met a few times. We've also set up a whatsapp group this week so feel like I'm getting to know them a bit more.

Oo Claire we are looking to get a seat this month. Let me know what you think of the Ibiza - we're deciding if it's worth the extra to go for the Leon. We already have a golf so similar sized car. My heart is set on the crossover ateca but DH isn't willing to lose so much money in depreciation why did I marry a tight Yorkshireman?!

Work have been interviewing for my replacement this week and all candidates have been rejected as rubbish teachers Shock
I'm really disappointed as I was hoping to have lots of handover time and for them to get to know my class before I leave. Now there's only 2 weeks left so it's going to be really tight!

33 weeks today - where is the time going?!?!

Rustler74 · 17/03/2017 18:35

Hi @growcookeat rubbish about the replacement interviews!

I think it's worth going for the bigger car. Get yourselves on the fb group 'car seat advice for mummies and daddies'
I have experienced that some smaller cars like the Polo, Fabia and Ibiza (all smaller cars from VW group) have bucket shaped seats and make it awkward to fit a car seat well. Also, if there's limited space between the seats, then the passengers (or driver's) seat is awkwardly much forward to allow for the car seat to fit properly. Most maxi cosi bases are so long that they would not fit in my fabia well. Having an estate version makes some difference but not that much, although it is easier to park and to put the buggy in the boot.

We have 2 whole days of nct next weekend 25-26 so hoping we find some friendship in that short time.

I've not had the temperature stuff but been experiencing some trampling of the diaphragm and also strong kicks down. After having been busy in last 2 days, I've enjoyed a day with the feet up and feeling lots of movement. I had a good sob at call the midwife, and downton abbey (in prep of Beauty and the Beast!)
Bliss!

ClaireSunflower · 17/03/2017 18:55

I'll let you know how it is when it arrives grow when we looked at the seat Leon it didn't look a huge amount bigger so didn't think the extra cost was worth it. My DH wanted the ateca but I thought it was so big I'd never be able to park it! He is a Yorkshireman too so agreed it was too expensive!

savagehk · 17/03/2017 18:58

Was just about to suggest checking out that group before buying a car rustler

savagehk · 17/03/2017 19:01

Re pelvic floor exercises, remember to also concentrate on the "release" as you'll need to be able to relax during the pushing bit to let baby out- doesn't help if it's all nice and tight then!

peasandquiet · 17/03/2017 19:49

Had a busy day! New car is lovely, so many extra's on it I hadn't realised!
We ended up going for a family dinner in the next town to go for a drive after husband finished work. Was good and toddler was relatively well behaved.
Ended up in Waitrose for a quick top up shop and treated myself to a bottle of champagne ready for May... going to stare longingly at it on the shelf until then!
Teaspoon I think I would ask for a mothercare voucher and see how generous they were!

Badgerbird · 17/03/2017 19:55

esmes I'm glad you felt able to talk to your midwife and that she is being supportive. You can only give it a go and if it's not for you then that's fine too :)

I'm not liking the sound of all this rib kicking!! I'm guessing that's what happens when baby's head starts to head down....?

Saw an old friend today and came away with another massive bag of baby clothes and a cocoonababy! Anyone used one of those?

peas that sounds like a successful first trip! :)

stationaryace · 17/03/2017 21:28

I had an Ibiza until last May so until DD was around 17 months old. We had the baby seat and isofix base behind the passenger seat (as per safety recommendations) but it really impacted on the passenger leg space. It meant that DH drove most of the time as there wasn't space for his longer legs as a passenger. My main concern was that we always planned on two fairly close together, and wanted to keep them rear facing as long as possible, so didn't want the driver to have the same leg space issue when this one pops out and car seat number 2 is shoved in too. Changed it for a Fiat 500L and the difference is great, although felt like I was driving a taxi initially.

coxsorangepippin · 17/03/2017 22:42

teaspoon, peach for me it's worth the 2.99 because I've done every set of exercises since yesterday, which is more than is done in the last fortnight! I have an iPhone Se and the notifications are working fine.

teaspoon as they caused you baby-panic I think I'd go for something de-panicking, like a great car seat or a fancy baby monitor...

SanitysSake · 18/03/2017 06:38

Waaaaahhh... I have missed so much!

Hello all, hope you're all bouncing along well?

My lady bits feel like they're splitting in two. SPD joys. Anyone else got this? It bloomin' hurts!

32+5 today. OMG, this shit is getting real! Shock

Nurse15 · 18/03/2017 06:47

I have a (brand new 2 months before falling pregnant!!) 3 door seat Ibiza. Needless to say it won't be changed for a few years so I went for the pram and car seat combo that fitted best in the bCk seats without impacting on the space in the front too much but there was much trial of different seats at Mothercare one day to assess the situation!! Just hope it isn't too awkward with a three door car!

Couldn't get to sleep with hip pain last night after a 14 hour shift and got another one today, if I'm feeling the same after it I am considering going off sick, the pain is unbearable!

Brightsmoke · 18/03/2017 07:45

Peas, glad you had a successful first trip out! Me and DH got a bottle of champagne last weekend for May, luckily it's hidden in the beer fridge out of sight for now lol.

Rasperry, yay for a birthday twin! Any plans for tomorrow?

Thanks for everyone who mentioned about birth plans, we really are clueless, so any input is a huge help :)

growcookeat · 18/03/2017 07:58

Thanks for the car tips ladies. I will discuss with DH and check the back seats carefully as we already have the car seat.

Am away with friends this weekend (just found out 4 out of 5 of us are pregnant!!) - one of whom is a midwife and she told me it's rare for first babies to lie in transverse position. Have now worried myself by reading up about it online 🙈 apparently there's a risk of cord prolapse and hospital admission if baby doesn't turn. I have a couple of weeks yet I know, so going to get on spinning babies and see what it suggests.

Why is it so easy to worry during pregnancy??

Hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend!

RedBlu · 18/03/2017 08:05

When we found out about bump we sold our three door hatchback as even without a baby it was a pain in the arse to get in and out of the back seats. Had to upgrade to a more family friendly four door car!

MissMooMoo · 18/03/2017 08:14

Lots of car talk! DH and I don't have a car.
I don't even have a driving licence (must sort that out!) But we live in London and I just can't see us using one that much if we get one! Initally we had decided we would but I've said its just an added expense atm and it will sit parked all week and maybe used once on a weekend.
Maybe we will re visit this when the weather gets cold again.

Up having a nice long soak in the bath, baby is very active and it looks like a wave pool in here! Seeing the midwife at 10:20 for my 31 week appt so I will have to skip pilates today Sad I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat though.
Allergies seem to be back in full swing, I know its that time of the year again. Can't take much for relief, just very glad I am not due in August or something as I would struggle to get through the summer!

Any nice plans for the weekend?

PeachIcedT · 18/03/2017 08:25

Cox it's very handy to use, I think I just need to sort out my notification settings Blushit can be a real challenge doing the long holds sometimes!

Had a bad nights sleep as ribs kept stinging throughout, oww - at least I don't have work today I suppose.

Another one who upgraded car when found out about the little one - same model but 10 years newer, which is good as I don't think the 13 year old car I had had any isofix points.

EsmesBees · 18/03/2017 08:32

We don't have a car either MissMoo and are also Londoners. It's never been a problem as we have such great public transport, apart from when we want to go on weekends away and have to cart both baby and travel cot etc. on the train. It's getting easier again now as she is old enough to sleep in normal beds and simply loves a train journey.

peasandquiet · 18/03/2017 08:52

We live in the middle of nowhere, always have done so can't imagine life without a car, have never been able to walk to a shop/school/work or anywhere other than the church or the park and thats only since I left home!
Off out with my mum and the toddler today to the shops. Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.
Those of you with SPD pains overnight I'm finding it eventually goes off about 5am which is good to have relief but bloody horrible when I try and turn over before then. The tens at bedtime for 30mins is defo making a huge diff compared to last pregnancy. My anterior placenta is perfectly positioned to absorb the rib kicks, I remember them from last time and I can't say I'm missing them!

RasperryInAMelon · 18/03/2017 08:52

@Brightsmoke nothing sadly... I kind of forgot amongst the excitement of the baby tbh and I honestly think DH has forgotten too.

It's my 30th next year so perhaps I'll do something then?

savagehk · 18/03/2017 08:58

No car here either, we cycle or bus / train if needed.

jennymac31 · 18/03/2017 09:37

No car here either (although I do have my driver's licence). We use bus, train or walk to get about. We live in Bristol, which has the worst rush hour traffic in the country (according to recent stats) so it's pointless trying to drive into work or do the nursery run. Plus there is no free parking where I work so would end up spending £15 a day to park my car close by. Thanks to bus lanes, I'm able to do the nursery run and get to work for 9am.

Dd's got another birthday party to go to plus we've a tradesmen coming over to do a quote on boarding up/out our attic so it's more usable for storage etc.

BIL and his fiance are supposed to be coming round today to watch the rugby but am gonna see how we feel, as dh's working today and has already said he wants a nap when he gets home!

MrsJW15 · 18/03/2017 09:52

No car here either, we mostly use public transport, but we do have zipcar membership. MissMoo if it's in your area it's worth a try, much cheaper than owning a car and really good for occasional use.

savagehk · 18/03/2017 10:23

We have ex-CityCarClub (now Enterprise) membership too, but use it very infrequently (more for the van hire than for the car, tbh). A friend has us on her insurance so when we do 'need' a car we can use hers, but it's infrequent.
