SparklyGothKat thanks for your honesty and loopymumsy.

Alittlebitshy maybe you should think about how you healed after your last section. If it was fine then great but it'd be even worse recovering slowly.

My friend had a section and has had 2 subsequent natural deliveries (one at home).

All I'd say is don't put too much pressure on yourself by being totally determined to have one or the other as the baby's calling the shots!

SparklyGothKat · 22/03/2007 20:33

I had an emergancy cs with DS as he was breech and I went into labour at 35 weeks. I went into labour with dd1 at 31 and assumed that I would be taken for a CS, even though I wanted a VBAC, but I was able to have a VBAC and then I had dd2 naturally 15 months after dd1 at 33 weeks. I actually found the natural births easier to recover from.
I will be going for a natural delivery again, but I will be putting on my birth plan that if I need a CS then to go ahead.

Yes, I am very nervous about this baby, as my premature deliveries have never been investigated. I actually its my cervix as as soon as the girls turned head down they were born within a week. My doctor laughed at me when DD2 turned head down and I said 'ok she will be born within a week' she was born 2 days later.

I have moved since having the girls, but back at the same doctors as when I had DS. I actually need to get hold of the midwife to see if I can get an early appointment with my consultant, as I have been reading up on IC and a stitch needs to be done at 12-14 weeks.

I don't know the number. Haven't seen a midwife or anyone yet. Just the GP and the EPU

I'm heading off to my best friend's wedding this weekend. typically I have been really good with eating, jogging and excercise and had got myself looking good in the very tight fitted satin number she has me wearing up and until this week and now my belly is sticking out like a bit fat lardy, but anyway... I don't actually care, I'd rather have a lardy belly with a little 'un growin inside.
My dilema is that I really don't want everyone to know that I'm pregnant but as soon as anyone see's me knocking back a drink the game is up. i'm no alcoholic but I enjoy a party and this is going to be a big party. Anyone had to fool their friends on the drinking front? I've told one friend and asked her to keep saying things like, "are you on the next one already". Any other suggestions?
Anyway, I'd better go and get everything ready, we're leaving early doors today, its a full weekend thingy. The sun is shining and I'm really looking forward to it. Baby in my belly, sun in the sky, does it get much better!!!!

apeainapod · 23/03/2007 08:58

Good Morning! My secret is out. I was dropping off the kids at school when a) my eldest announced to all mothers and kids that 'my Mummy has a baby in her tummy and will come out of her fanny' and then a friend, in my younger sons class, looked at me said - 'now that is not due to eating too much pizza! When is it due??" I was gobsmacked! I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow, I have LOST 2 kgs already - and now I already have a bump. This is not good - I am going to be enormous! Is anybody else changing shape already??? Please say yes!!

SparklyGothKat · 23/03/2007 09:13

just phone my doctors to see when I will be seen by the midwife........ 26 weeks!!! I did manage to get an appointment on the 12th to discuss my high risk pregnancy.

iris66 · 23/03/2007 09:27

morning all just a quick post to say Hi as we've a really busy weekend ahead (DH is going to be working away for a month from next week so we've a lot to fit in before he goes)

SparklyGothKat - 26 weeks !! that's apalling! Thank goodness you pushed for an earlier appointment - you'd think it would be automatic, given your history, wouldn't you (but then - that'd just be common sense and we can't have that can we!! )

apeainapod - lol at being "outed" . I've put on wight already too. I'm going to have to get DH to search the loft for my maternity stuff soon

tryingfortwo - I said I was on antibiotics last time I went out. It's so hard to not tell everyone isn't it.

hope you all have lovely weekends

SparklyGothKat · 23/03/2007 09:46

well I tried the antenatal clinic, and they can't see me until they have recieved my referral from the GP

You can shorten my name to sparkly or SGK, people have done for ages now It is stupid for me to be seen at 26 weeks by the midwife, I ov. will have a scan when I am 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks, but I NEED to see a doctor or a midwife before 12 weeks.

Evening all! Just found out that my community midwife is the lovely lovely midwife I had visiting me after DS was born, she is such a wonderful person I am soooooo happy I could jump for joy!

OK total overreaction but knowing the person whose going to look after you is a really lovely person is such a relief. Have decided not to get too wound up about hospital vs home birth just yet, and will see how I feel nearer the time. Having DS here makes it more complicated I think, what on earth do you do with the little 'un whilst you're huffing and puffing!

Tryingfortwo - I did this last week at a 60th birthday party, i had a word with the girl behind the bar and told her all about it, said if anyone asked for grapefruit juice and vodka (no one else would, bleagh!) it would be me and could she just do grapefruit - she did it perfectly and no one commented apart from one male friend who said 'wow cheap round' as she had not charged for the non-existent vodka of course!

Another mate I know hid a bottle of white sparking wine under her table and topped up her own glass all night, refusing all offers to buy her a drink. It was her own wedding too!

apeainapod - LOL!

It is so difficult deciding when to tell. Sometimes I want to tell everyone, sometimes I want to keep it my little secret for as long as possible, somehow when everyone knows it becomes 'their' baby too, or am I just being weird?

easywriter · 23/03/2007 21:39

SGK - I'm quite concerned for you! I would never normally advise this sort of thing but I really think you need to demand to be heard by your GP and refuse to leave his/her room without a referral or something. Surely with your history they can hardly label yo as being needlessly difficult. I'd like to know how you choose to handle this and I'm going to ask everyone relevant that I know as it seems utterly inappropriate for you to be in this position.

Rant over!!

I feel like a naughty school girl being told off by the head... I will go to the GP and get a referral next week if I haven't had anything from the hospital, apparently the consulants will go over my referral when they recieve it and decide when or if I will be seen early

easywriter · 23/03/2007 22:27

Sorry! I didn't mean to tell you off... ... but the professionals who are supposed to being helping you... ... well that's a different matter.

Jonze · 24/03/2007 07:57

What's happened to me?!? Yesterday, my stomach was nice and flat, and my the end of the day, it was all poochy and round. Yikes, that was fast. I know they say you start showing sooner with your second, but I'm only 6 weeks, and I didn't show until 5 months with my first!
