Bean I'm really cross for you, it's crap that the midwife didn't look after you properly this week!! Do you feel ok? I think you should go see your GP for a check over if your not feeling very good. (Sorry can't remember if your one of the lucky ones feeling fit still!) Hoping I have a better experience next week when I see my MW!

savagehk · 24/02/2017 20:50

Ah ok, thought you might be more Manchester than that bean! Hope you get through soon. Whooping cough vaccine is OK any time up till labour but sooner is better to ensure enough time between injection and birth. Last pregnancy they only offered from 28 weeks.

beanturnipandspud · 24/02/2017 20:52

peas yes I feel fine. And I know baby is ok, plenty of movement and no worries really.

Currently recovering from pneumonia but pregnancy no issues. I just get frustrated that they give me no time because I'm on my third pregnancy as this pregnancy is just as special to me as bean and turnip. So spud deserves the same amount of care.

His heart beat hasn't been looked at or listened to since 20wk scan.

Just a little frustrated, and because I am cared for by two different trusts I have no numbers to call other than hospital, but it won't be them that do the Mat b1.

Anyway, thank you for listening sorry to be such a bore!

Rustler74 · 24/02/2017 21:00

Bean I'd be incredibly cross! This midwife is playing with your and your baby's health. Sorry to put it so blunt, but I'd give it a couple of days until not so cross anymore and then call the team, asking for another appointment to fill all of that in. It is evidence from previous pregnancies and complications that has made the nice guidelines about follow up and monitoring. The guidelines are there for the reason that no symptoms are missed. So if the page isn't filled in, then you can't keep track of your progress. Simples!

Been out all day, and even though I feel better than Monday by miles, I'm absolutely shattered. I haven't even done that much physical activity! I'll have to strut to the shops for food and also can't skip JoJo tomorrow because my back is really bad. I've now taken away the positioning cushion from my bed as I think it's giving me more trouble and less space. And I can't cuddle up to baby's daddy because it's in the way!

Starting to count down...

Autumnsweater · 24/02/2017 21:05

Been a bit stressed today Confused

Realised this afternoon that couldn't really remember feeling the baby move that day.. I have rushed around all day though and don't tend to feel movement when I'm not resting.
Anyway, after getting really stressed about it on the way home from work, have lay down for the past hour and felt 20 kicks so I think all is alright but have the stress in my head now.

Does anyone use a kick counter? Are they recommended by the NHS? I have ignored them so far on the basis that I didn't want to get stressed unnecessarily but today I got quite concerned that I didn't actually know what was normal..

lucieloos · 24/02/2017 21:13

Raspberry, I have had shingles. It's contagious until the rash has dried up and crusted over. I don't think it's advisable for pregnant women to be around someone with shingles.

Teaspoon74 · 24/02/2017 21:19

Bean - fwiw, I got my MatB1 from my hospital consultant. I just said I was seeing more of her then my midwife/GP and asked if she could provide it and she said yes. Did it there and then. Don't know if that helps. Good luck!!

CinnamonTwist · 24/02/2017 21:23

Sal (and anyone else who wants) if you PM me your email address I can add you to the Facebook group. If you can let me know on here that you have done though so I check my inbox as I won't get a notification through the app - I'll need to look through the Internet site and I don't do that very often Wink

savagehk · 24/02/2017 21:38

autumn I'm fairly sure they don't recommend counting 'kicks' anymore, but rather knowing what movements are normal for you and being concerned if they change.

beanturnipandspud · 24/02/2017 21:42

Autumn if you are worried at all ... please ring triage. There is no harm in being over cautious. I think the advice now is not so much the counting but the pattern. The fact that you have noticed baby not moving today would suggest baby had not followed its normal pattern. Although 20 movements in the past hour sounds good, I would still give your team a call 😊 better safe than sorry.

teaspoon I am at hospital next Friday for anti d so will ask a midwife there and also speak to them about filling in the 28wk page.

rustler I feel for you, I am also struggling to sleep with and without pillows. I am short so bump is incredibly sticky outy and is getting in the way already. I have to stand sideways to wash up! Which is awful for posture! Hope you get a better night tonight.

savage are you Manchester way?

cinnamon I have sent you a PM 😊

savagehk · 24/02/2017 21:42

The charity that was called 'count the kicks' has changed to 'kicks count' for that reason, see here. www.kickscount.org.uk/mums/frequently-asked-questions/

CinnamonTwist · 24/02/2017 21:42

Had a day off work today, and probably overdone it - my back is really painful Sad also had a call from the (student) health visitor today, who asked if I was still working and I said yes, but that I'm taking my holiday to shorten my weeks so I'm off most Fridays...so then said she wants to come and see me (at home) a week on Tuesday... when asked if it could coincide with day I was off instead, she was quite short with me and said that work have to give me the time off for these appointments, so I pointed out that I have a midwife appointment in the morning and could she do after I get home from work, no she can ONLY do mid afternoon (2ish) on that particular day... so I now have to either change my days holiday or irritate my manager by being out twice in one day Angry not massively impressed! I don't really see why she needs to come quite so soon either? I finish work at the end of March, does she really need to come 2 months before my due date??

savagehk · 24/02/2017 21:43

Yes bean - pretty central

savagehk · 24/02/2017 21:44

cinnamon I don't think I saw the health visitor before my first birth. Then again, the HVs here are very busy, and I saw exceptionally little of them which suited me just fine Grin (eg they're supposed to see you within 28 days of birth - I saw mine on day 28 and even then I think they'd borrowed her from a neighbouring area to help out!)

CinnamonTwist · 24/02/2017 21:53

Added you both to the FB group bean and savage

Sal1977 · 24/02/2017 22:01

Sent you a PM Cinnamon Grin

yellowismyfavourite · 24/02/2017 22:17

raspberry and teaspoon NCT was good... We looked at first 2 stages of labour and a bit on brain development linked to babys crying and how quickly to respond. The partners got sent off to try and fit the baby through the pelvis- some came back a bit shocked! It was nice meeting other people with similar due dates and good to chat about local nurseries... There seems to be long waiting lists (about 9 months ) so need to start looking into that this weekend! Next session tomorrow.

raspberry am I right in remembering you also have an anterior placenta? Do you ever have movement you can feel on the outside but not on the inside? Earlier DH was giving my bump a hug and said he could feel kicking... I felt nothing!

RasperryInAMelon · 24/02/2017 22:18

Pm sent

Bean I think it was your email that when I added it to the group it didn't appear in the drop down bit to click on... whereas the other ones have done. Is the address you've sent me definitely the one your Facebook profile is registered to? I'll try again in the morning - computer turned off now and it won't work on my phone

Badgerbird · 24/02/2017 22:45

Thanks sal, ni payments should def be ok as I just did my self assessment.

dream I know! Frilly AND sparkly stuff!! Funny thing is I'm not a very girly girl and she has nothing pink yet.

Thanks grow & teaspoon :) made it through an hour of crazy Paris rush hour traffic!

Ooh enjoy your massage peas!

bean I think it's time you stopped washing up then frankly!!!

yellow I have anterior placenta too and my oh can sometimes feel her moving which is fab :) also some I don't feel myself like you.

CinnamonTwist · 24/02/2017 22:50

Ok, as DH was messing around on the computer still and hadn't actually yet turned it off, I kicked him off it and added you all again... hopefully its worked this time. If not I'll try something else in the morning Grin ! Raspberry I've added you too... let me know if any of you don't get invites or they don't work!

CinnamonTwist · 24/02/2017 22:52

I think my computer is having a funny five minutes (or FB is) as it won't let me view the 'invited' members on the FB page it just goes blank.... so let me know if you don't get anything!

Barnes79 · 24/02/2017 23:25

Cinnamon - I've PM'd you about the Facebook group Grin

MrsJW15 · 24/02/2017 23:58

Baby movements worrying me a bit too. I've had some days this week with loads of movement and some where baby is much quieter. Lying on my side and rubbing the bump usually gets a reaction so I think all is ok. I think it maybe just when the baby moves to a position with less space or behind the anterior placenta.
