Afternoon ladies

Just waiting for GTT results as well as growth scan and consultant's appointment.

Having a bit of a crap time at work with month end targets to hit and just struggling to cope. Boiler decided not to work so waiting for engineer to come out tomorrow.

Only 12 weeks till baby boy arrives but it feels like it's still ages away.

Hope you are all well xx

1004Rise · 22/02/2017 12:29

Tea Cake time then Wink

And I'm with you on snuzpod becoming a cat bed!!

jennymac31 · 22/02/2017 12:33

Forgot to ask if any of you have been suffering from dry eyes? Apologies for the odd question but my left eye has been dry and uncomfortable for the last few days. Not sure if it's pregnancy related or stress related.

RasperryInAMelon · 22/02/2017 12:36

Jenny I haven't suffered with it, but saw the optician a few weeks ago and she did say it's common during pregnancy

Good luck Jenny!

& Rise - have an hour to kill until my scan so here's my little treat (note: Fanta is zero, which cancels out caramel egg, right?!?)

Red I had my GTT this morning, in my area it was bloods, lucozade (whole bottle within 5 mins) and then a 2 hour wait and then bloods.
No 3rd set of bloods.
Also in my area it is a wait for the results - will get a phone call within a week or so if positive, if test is fine then I won't hear anything so essentially no news is good news.

Fingers crossed!

newbieho · 22/02/2017 12:53

Tea love cat photos! The one with white nose looks like our Louis (we've got two rescue tabby boys).

I've got GTT on Monday, results were OK so no gestational diabetes. I saw the midwife today and we were both listening to the baby's heartbeat - love it ❤

Teaspoon74 · 22/02/2017 12:59

Good luck MrsP - hope you hear nowt (if that makes sense) Smile

Newbie the white nosed tabby adopted us when we moved house a few years ago: sat outside the back doors and cried morning and night until we took him in, checked with neighbours and vets, and basically agreed to his demands ;). He's the sweetest little fella and will always come & give me a cwtch and a purr when I'm sick or tired.

Scan within hour and then MW. Hoping to hear and see more today. Always makes me teary though : feels so much more real when you can see / hear what's behind all the wriggling.

CinnamonTwist · 22/02/2017 13:01

Tea our dog thinks all the toys we have been gifted for the baby are obviously for him (and why the hell wouldn't they be, so why are they hidden in the cupboard - he knows which one they're in!) especially all the squeaky/ rattley/ noisy ones... it's going to be a very steep learning curve when the baby gets here Hmm

Brightsmoke · 22/02/2017 13:03

Peas & Tea, I got shutters put in since finding out about bump. We've gone for full length oak venetian, and although I was sceptical initially about the light, they really make the room! I'm really impressed with the look. I think it helps that our house is about a million years old, so really fits. I think the half blinds will look beautiful in your room Tea.

Will do Mrs. I was expecting a slot, rather than the booking being for the whole 2 hours, but planning on being there for 6.30 so we can escape and have an early night (I've been so tired this week that I've been in bed before 8 the last 2 nights Blush )

PeachIcedT · 22/02/2017 13:19

I'm trying to play catch up here!

Congratulations on the job news rise! It's great you can now progress with the house.

I have been getting plenty of headaches peas but it tends to be ones that start in the evening and then I wake up with the same headache the next morning. I'm not really sure what is causing them but I think it's fairly common.

Cinnamon I have also been suffering with the dizziness, in fact I couldn't go to work yesterday as I felt so out of it that I didn't think I'd be safe. Not had this before it happened yesterday but was really unpleasant. I reckon it's my already low BP getting lower still. I have my 28 week midwife appointment in an hour so will run it past them then.

KLane · 22/02/2017 13:54

vanilla My GP and an obstetrician both suspected I had gall stones last month. My pain is/was mainly on my right side and my right ribcage, near the sternum. Anyway they did a blood test, which showed a few high-ish readings but they couldn't rule out gall stones or any other gallbladder/liver issue until they did an abdominal ultrasound. The GP's request was going to take 3 weeks, so the day assessment unit requested one and I was in 24 hours later. The ultrasound was clear though my weekly blood test at DAU still comes back with the odd high liver reading. Anyway, to get to my point, push for an abdominal ultrasound when you meet with your GP! The blood tests are apparently too inconsistent in pregnancy to determine anything like that for sure.

KLane · 22/02/2017 13:58

Whoops that was meant for mightymouse76 not vanilla Blush

KLane · 22/02/2017 14:00

Actually, looks like both of you were posting about potential gall stones! I feel like I'm losing my mind. Can't keep up with this group Smile

1004Rise · 22/02/2017 14:09

Tea definitely!!! I may have to go out caramel egg hunting now though!

Jenny I got the same message from my optician last as Rasperry, dry eyes are common in pregnancy and if you wear contacts as we get nearer the end extra fluid can change the shape of you lens so your contacts no longer fit properly... oh the joy! She said to use comfort drops when you needed them and that it would go away once the baby was born (seem to be hearing that a lot!)

CinnamonTwist · 22/02/2017 15:12

Peach I very nearly called in sick today, I feel light headed all the time and sometimes faint, I am super tired and have a cold - concentrating is nearly impossible. But I really hate calling in sick, and my PILs were coming over today to kindly decorate the nursery for us because I'm completely useless at the moment and I didn't want to be at home 'ill' when I don't really feel I qualify as 'ill' i just feel tired and crap (I have to be basically bed ridden before I'll admit to being unwell, probably not the way of thinking currently given it's not just me I'm supposed to be looking out for now..! But I'll feel guilty if I do stay home.)

CinnamonTwist · 22/02/2017 15:37

That should have said
*sometimes feel faint... I haven't actually fainted Wink

vanilla8 · 22/02/2017 16:07

Thanks Klane, I went and did my bloods today, and will push GP friday for abdo ultrasound referral. Will try and hold out for 28 week midwife appointment next week but if it gets worse than I'll go DAU beforehand.

RedBlu · 22/02/2017 16:38

So some of you only have two blood tests for the GTT? I will be really pissed off if they want three from me. I don't do well with needles at all.

Mine is next Tuesday - 9.30am so no eating from midnight so I intend to stuff my face right up until that point - unless I fall asleep at like 8pm which seems to keep happening at the moment..

PeachIcedT · 22/02/2017 16:40

I know what you mean about the guilty feeling cinnamon I also hate calling in sick - but if your work is going to be affected then you're not going to be of use anyway. In my job it could be quite dangerous if I couldn't concentrate fully. I hope things improve for you soon, I feel much better today after lying horizontal all of yesterday. Midwife was not in the slightest bit fussed when I mentioned it Hmm.

In other news I've happily found out that DH's work policy has been updated meaning that from March he's entitled to 4 weeks paid paternity which is fabulous as I can prolong having to manage alone for another couple of weeks Smile

jennymac31 · 22/02/2017 16:44

Good news about the paternity leave peach!

GTT test came back normal and baby boy was kicking during growth scan. He's currently in a breech position but there's plenty of time for him to move to the correct position before due date!

MrsJW15 · 22/02/2017 17:50

Great news on paternity leave Peach.

I've had such a long day with meetings etc. On the plus side baby has been very wriggly again. Feels like he or she is still head down, kicking my ribs happily!

We are meant to be going out for dinner with DH's family tonight, but due entirely to their own disorganisation, they only managed to book a table for 9pm Shock. I've been fighting off a cold all week and I'm tempted to say that it's too late for me and just head home. DH wont mind, I just don't want to see rude although I might not be great company if I'm tired and grumpy.

RasperryInAMelon · 22/02/2017 18:09

Been at work since 8am... up since 5.30 after the calf cramp incident... only just leaving work... now to face the minimum 2 hour commute home... 😩😩😩

Has anyone transferred hospitals mid way through pregnancy? I'm considering it, am consultant led for high bmi, nothing else out the ordinary. Wondering if anyone has - was it a hassle, did you have to repeat any of the appointments etc? X

savagehk · 22/02/2017 18:26

mrspage no, but in first pregnancy I discovered halfway in that the midwives I was seeing belonged to the other hospital so I changed midwives! There wasn't any issue.
