Erm, straight from our bed into a single here. A low single. You can get bedguards or use a pool noodle if you're worried about them rolling out of bed (doesn't happen here often, maybe 3x ever). He likes you lying in bed next to him while he falls asleep so a single is handy for that (and for reading the bedtime story).

MrsJW15 · 18/02/2017 23:26

I've just been sticking to the odd glass of real wine. Definitely missing it - I love a nice glass of wine with a meal.

Also sleeping badly. Just had a nice bath (baby kicked enough to make a splash!) and a go on the ball so hope that helps. Getting out the bath was hard!

lullaby23 · 19/02/2017 01:20

badger I was worried about this and so relieved when red wine stopped tasting awful. Small things! Hopefully it'll come back for you too.

DS is 21 months and still likes being in the cot & hasn't climbed out yet, he chucks toys and his cup etc over the side in preparation for bed time. Hope to move him into a bed once this baby needs the big cot. we will probably get a toddler bed due to lack of space and it being lower and it will get passed down to DC2 eventually.

EsmesBees · 19/02/2017 07:10

DD is 23m and still in her cot bed. Will probably move her to a single when the new baby moves out of our room, so I guess Autumn/Winter time. The main advantage of a cot bed over a cot is that they are bigger so less chance of them banging themselves awake, and you can use it for longer.

Rustler74 · 19/02/2017 08:15

Hello ladies
Read the thread last night but low energy so couldn't write. Woke up at exactly the same times for two nights and took me ages to go down again. My back and pelvis giving me gyp and otherwise it's my OH who snores or groans. We are at his parents now and the bed is rather narrow. Also yesterday my OH had so mouth trouble with an athletes foot that we had to go to minor injuries / walk in to get it checked. I was a bit worried about sitting in the waiting room with those coughing and spluttering. But we were seen within the hour and it's already much better now. Phew!

I think we'll go for a cotbed but we have some time on our hands as we have the Moses basket for the first few months. We aren't likely to have another baby (although never say never) due to our ages, so our baby will grow into it and have the bed as a toddler bed afterwards. I guess it'll last until DS or DD is 4-5 years of age. Then with going to school, we'll have a very grown up child who can choose their own grown up bed.

I'm so excited for my trip to Belgium! Not long now... I hope you have a nice break in Edinburgh grow. I've not been there since I was a toddler, but I have some friends there so I hope to meet up after may.
Also counting down to the baby show and really hope to get some deals there.

Sah1987 · 19/02/2017 08:38

Yes badger really stressful. The main boss is back today and will be first time I've seen him in 3 weeks, so putting off getting out of bed right now :(

I feel I'll be missing out on baby time, but 3 weeks isn't that long & I'm looking into new jobs instead of going back anyway so possibly that will be a good thing x

peasandquiet · 19/02/2017 08:59

Morning all. Another family with a cot bed here. Would say it's your best choice on size alone, aside from it converting to a bed.

Sah I'm so jealous that you might get to go off work soon. I love my job but it's frustrating as anything at the moment due to recruitment issues and also I'm impatient for this pregnancy to be over and to hold my lovely baby! will be finishing at 36 weeks which is about 4-5 wks later than I did fist time around! Still feel like I have ages off as won't go back till Feb18.

Also in the knackered club, had a nap yesterday for the first time in months. Was heaven.
Really struggling to find maternity joggers and underbump leggings, anyone got any recommendations? I'm very short in the leg so nothing for gazelle's please!!

Decided on the snuzpod having looked at what else is around. Just got to bite the bullet and buy it now. Hoping for a show offer at the babyshow!

Barnes79 · 19/02/2017 10:04

Peas - ive got some New Look over bump maternity joggers (it says wide leg, but I think they're just normal) in navy to wear at work. I'm only 5ft 4 so not long in the leg either. They aren't for sale on New Look website anymore but found some on ASOS last week as needed a second pair. They stay up well and are really comfy. I found them well sized (so could buy my pre-maternity size), they're a little tight for first hour of wear but then relax nicely. They get a bit too baggy after a couple of wears but washing them gets them back to the nice relaxed fit (they never go back as tight as they were when you first bought them).

Still feeling a bit dodgy - more general abdo aches and feeling a bit sickly so wondering if I'm coming down with a bug. Everyone else at work has been off sick with something or another recently, so god knows how the preggers lady outlasted them all. Perhaps now it's just my turn...

1004Rise · 19/02/2017 10:54

Dream very jealous that you have found your maternity cover already, we have to recruit internally for mine (don't ask) and the one person that had showed interest has now said they're not interested anymore. There's a bit of me that says not my problem but I feel too guilty leaving other people to do extra work Hmm I do have ages yet because I'm not going off til the end of April but a decent handover would be nice!

Went for John Lewis nursery visit yesterday, don't think we learned anything new but it solidified our thinking on things which helped. Decided on pram and car seat, going to Mothercare parents event this week so will probably order them then, anything off them is a good thing!

Slept for ages last night yet still feel knackered, thinking that tiredness and heartburn are here to the end now Sad but if that's all I have to put up with I guess I'll survive!! Smile

Bump is kicking lots, and seems to be all over the place can't decide if it's strong arms or s/he's just on the move a lot!

Sah it sounds like you might be better leaving earlier if you could, it's not worth you getting yourself stressed over! Gives you the opportunity to look for new options too.

Barnes hope you feel better soon, warm bath and relaxing Sunday in order!

peanutbutter310 · 19/02/2017 11:30

Rise I'm booked in for the Mothercare event on Monday. Have been holding off on some of our big purchases (pram, car seat) as heard that it will be 10% off everything on the night. Not the end of the world if that turns out not to be the case, but a bit of discount always helps!

teainbed · 19/02/2017 12:39

Ah good choice grow, that was one of three I'd narrowed you down to! Perfect for a child free break.

yellowismyfavourite · 19/02/2017 13:30

sah that sounds like a good plan. I am feeling anxious about going back tomorrow after a week off... I am getting really tired really quickly and next week already looks crazy. I am a teacher so my holidays are fixed so have to keep going till the end of March. Any tips for making work more manageable? I ended up making myself ill in the autumn by trying to keep up with how I was pre-pregnancy and don't want to go there again!

On the plus side we start NCT classes on Thursday which I am excited about... Feels like another tick on the list!

Tickyboovicki · 19/02/2017 14:20

I know there's a lot of fox lovers on here, possibly the cutest bargain ever! Mum picked these up, 50p in matalan 😊

MrsJW15 · 19/02/2017 14:25

Ugh slept so badly last night. My back is aching and I think curry gave me heartburn. Trying not to get DH's cold but I'm not positive. Buggy shopping time now!

1004Rise · 19/02/2017 14:27

Peanut that's what we were thinking, 10% off isn't much but if it's off more than £1000 it's worth it!!

Barnes79 · 19/02/2017 15:07

Baby hasn't been kicking much today so, after having my new twinges, am sat in maternity triage. Have heard baby's heartbeat (they did struggle to find it at first) and am just waiting for the doctor to appear and, I assume /hope give us the all clear to go home.

RasperryInAMelon · 19/02/2017 15:11

Hey cox defo report back please! That's why the Eisenberg wines taste nicer as they are made properly, but not expensive though. lullaby I'll try a little red again next wknd as will be travelling through France, be rude not to!!

How did it go sah?

Baby brain in full flow I managed to go out shopping today for baby stuff with my dm without my handbag!! No purse, phone, gift vouchers etc.... Confused

Badgerbird · 19/02/2017 15:22

Xpost barnes, hope all is ok and you can go home and rest x

Barnes79 · 19/02/2017 15:59

Back home. They aren't worried about anything - although oddly if I'd gone in 8 days time they'd have done different tests.

Doctor (who perhaps should work on his people skills) said perhaps baby was having a lazy day...

vanilla8 · 19/02/2017 16:02

Painting & scrubbing wallpaper paste off walls this weekend, spent two hours in the bath last night with the aches!!

The local mothercare manager told me that they don't pressurise you into buying on the night at the event, I think they give you a voucher you can return to store and use.

We are going to one on the 2nd so hope to compare prices with the baby show before taking the plunge!

EsmesBees · 19/02/2017 16:25

Well at least you know all is well Barnes.

Had an afternoon nap today and still feel wrecked. Went out with DD earlier and think I overdid it, forgetting I've been laid up I'll the last three days.

teainbed · 19/02/2017 16:54

That's good news Barnes.

yellow that sounds hard. I suppose sitting when you can, and pacing yourself at home in the evenings? I've got a few days off between now and the start of my leave, and have cut my hours slightly for March. But only 6 weeks left at work which doesn't sound that long.

growcookeat · 19/02/2017 18:27

Back from Edinburgh - lovely trip but now exhausted! Early night for me to recharge I think.

Yellow I'm dreading going back to school tomorrow too. It's a crazy busy half term with school trip, class assembly and parents evening all lumped in together! Im hoping that I can keep my head down, plan work that requires less marking and use my lunchtime wisely. Do you have a supporting head/leadership?

MrsJW15 · 19/02/2017 18:37

Glad to hear everything is ok Barnes.

Vanilla that sounds good on the Mothercare events. We are going on Thursday but I suspect DH won't make it and my sister may come instead so I may not buy much. A voucher would be good. Would love to hear from anyone who goes this week!
