Esme & Ricky hope you both feel better soon!

Cox I'm with you on the tea too... love the smell of coffee (now it's stopped smelling of tuna Hmm) but can't drink it, my "tea" is currently a decaf bag waved in the teapot and wheeched out after about 2 seconds.... I miss my proper cups of tea Confused

1004Rise · 18/02/2017 08:44

Ticky obviously stupid phone!! Angry

vanilla8 · 18/02/2017 08:52

Another tired one here, I went off tea but have rediscovered my love for it, still have around 2-3 cups a day as that's got to be under the recommended caffeine limit right?

One thing that does make me hurl is the red bull drinkers on the tube in the morning Blushand I seem to get atleast one a week open up a can next to me

ClaireSunflower · 18/02/2017 09:04

Haha vanilla I was thinking the same thing this morning! I got the tube at 7am this morning as I'm going to visit my mum in Manchester this weekend and someone sat next to me and opened a can of red bull and i nearly threw up! It smells so horrible especially at that time of the morning! Shock

savagehk · 18/02/2017 09:08

I can also only handle very weak tea :) Had a decaf cappuccino yesterday at a restaurant, couldn't drink more than half of it. :(

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 18/02/2017 09:34

Morning all, congratulations on the house offer Ticky and get well soon. I'm drinking tea for the first time now I'm preggo, didn't used to think I liked it but wake up craving it at 5am. Boo.

Snap then Bright how funny about our parallel experience! Do you think your baby is still head down? I could clearly feel his back and bottom sometimes but wonder if he's back to transverse now as kicking me in side again.

I'm feeling very lucky, subject to references we have recruited my maternity cover and if all goes to plan we'll have a 6 week handover Grin. Having seen a friend of mine in another organisation work until midnight right up to when she went into labour 2 weeks before due date I am delighted to be able to do a proper handover, she seems lovely as well and brings lots of experience from working abroad which will be super interesting and hopefully mean I come back to a service that has moved on rather than ticked over. Told DP to remind me of my enthusiasm for how good I think she'll be in a year or so time when I have lost my confidence and am crying at the thought of going back to work/ public speaking etc etc Confused

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 18/02/2017 09:57

fox that 4th trimester article is brilliant

jennymac31 · 18/02/2017 09:57

Morning ladies

Feeling knackered with the occasional nausea and shortness of breath and still got another 13 weeks to go!

Feels a bit weird that am in the third trimester, as it seems to have arrived very quickly. Really need to get arse in gear and buy things for baby e.g. moses basket etc. Dh is still slightly reluctant because he wants to complete the renovation work upstairs first. En-suite was completed yesterday so we can get on with painting before getting new carpets, wardrobes etc.

The thought of it all is just making me feel more tired!

RasperryInAMelon · 18/02/2017 10:05

Cox I tried a red one but it was oddly sweet, so I think I'll stick to the odd glass of the real stuff!

Sorry to hear your feeling poorly Esme let DH take care of as much as possible 😉

Barnes 🙋🏼** fell asleep at 9.30pm and just woke up. But still feel shattered!

Missing my chai lattes, can still drink it but it makes me feel so sick by the end of it.

ticky and esme hope you feel better soon.
barnes I know what you mean about waking feeling unrefreshed and about the dreams... I have always had vivid dreams but they are much worse now

I went off tea at about 5 weeks and haven't been able to touch it since... I was a massive tea drinker before and I miss it!

Anyone else getting terrible stomach ache and feeling sick especially at night? Not sure if it is a former of indigestion but it's horrible!

teainbed · 18/02/2017 11:17

You've gone off tea? Shock

teainbed · 18/02/2017 11:26

I find the sleeping options challenging. Old glimmer alert but before I had a Moses basket and a cot (given them all away now!). Now there are Snuzpods, sleepyheads, bednests!

coxsorangepippin · 18/02/2017 12:43

Tea is back to tasting fine but still not the nectar of the gods it usually would be!

Satsumas on the other hand have become amaaazing. Also pickled onions. Maybe not at the same time though.

RasperryInAMelon · 18/02/2017 13:17

Has anyone had any skin changes? I've got a mole on my side which has never caused me issues before, but during pregnancy it's started going very dry and a bit scaly / flakey.

On one hand I've read it's perfectly normal during pregnancy and on the other my mind is all over the shop...

Sah1987 · 18/02/2017 14:11

🙋I'm another one who couldn't drink tea for about 12 weeks only started again at 20 weeks and only just getting back into the swing of it
I'm waking up every morning feeling worse and worse.

This morning I ended up in tears at work, and my manager suggested I possibly look at going off in 2 weeks, which will make me 29+2, I then have 6.5 weeks holiday so 36 weeks and then start my mat leave.
And as I'm sure I'll be induced will only be 2 weeks on Mat leave before bubba arrives.

I'm really thinking it might be the best idea!

growcookeat · 18/02/2017 14:29

Yes to going off tea - as a 4 cups a day of proper Yorkshire tea drinker I was most upset when it happened! Seem to be able to stomach it better now, especially as I found decaf Yorkshire tea.

Sooo slow at walking around now - been sightseeing in Edinburgh the last couple of days and DH is getting really bored of walking around at a snails pace! The upside though is that people seem to give me right of way when they see the bump coming up the hill/stairs! Lovely massage yesterday and off for another dip in the pool and cream tea this afternoon so generally feeling relaxed.

Hope you poorly ladies are feeling better soon.

Barnes79 · 18/02/2017 15:06

These weird middle low abdo sharp twinges are back and are freaking me out! They're not severe and I'm not grimacing in pain or anything, but I can't stop worrying and googling about what it could be. I'd feel stupid going to hospital with such mild twinges....Confused

EsmesBees · 18/02/2017 15:21

It's what the hospital is there for Barnes. If it's worrying you then it's worth getting checked. If only to put your mind at ease.

savagehk · 18/02/2017 15:39

What esme said... or call them first if you don't want to make the trip. Remember they'd rather have 99 false alarms than miss 1 real one!

Badgerbird · 18/02/2017 15:55

ticky that sounds horrid! Hope it clears up soon.

lullaby I find red wine tastes a bit like battery acid at the mo, so strong!! Hoping my taste buds go back to normal coz it was my drink of choice. Enjoyed my first half a small glass of white last night though.

cox I quite like the Eisenberg dealcoholised wines as a soft drink alternative. Oh and I've been on the satsumas since day 1! Couldn't go round Tescos today without eating a Braeburn apple either..... mmmmmm fruit.....

raspberry I reckon better safe than sorry and get it checked out.

sah sounds like it might be a good idea, especially if the stress is getting to you (just thinking of your post the other day too).....

teainbed · 18/02/2017 15:56

Glad you've had a nice weekend grow. That's where I live and I'm trying to guess which hotel you're in!

Autumnsweater · 18/02/2017 21:34

Cot versus cotbed?

What do people think? When do children graduate from the cot anyway? Can they graduate into a normal single bed or does it need to be toddler size? In an ideal world would like a second child when first is about 3 (reserve the right to change my mind on this when reality sets in Grin).

Have suddenly realised how little time there is until May Grin..

growcookeat · 18/02/2017 21:43

Tea we pushed the boat out and went for the one with the clock tower that's 3 minutes fast. Making the most of our last trip as a couple. Time is really flying now!

stationaryace · 18/02/2017 22:43

Generally they move out of the cot when they start being able to climb over the rails (anywhere from 10 months to 3 years, depending on the child) or when it's needed for the next baby. We have a cotbed and took the side off when DD turned 2 as she was happy playing at sleeping in the real single beds at my mums but still refused to go to bed in the cot - we were settling her to sleep on a mattress on the floor then moving when asleep, a routine started when I bf her to sleep and which she kept up. Now she happily climbs into bed for stories etc. She's getting a big girl bed for her 3rd birthday as that's when this one is going to need the cot. Didn't bother with toddler duvet set, went straight for single for this reason, so hoping DD won't freak out.

Sleeping pretty much sucks just now. If I don't need to pee then it's baby sitting where I'm trying to lie or 20 million thoughts running round in my head. Trying not to nap as only have a few hours between DD bedtime and mine as it is to get all the fun grownup stuff done.

Saw mw on thursday for 28 week check, anti-D and bloods. Will find out next week if I need a GTT, but just now baby is measuring exactly average on my growth chart, like the last time. Here's hoping I don't hear anything until I see her again in 7 weeks.

coxsorangepippin · 18/02/2017 23:13

Feeling inspired by this thread I've bought a mixed half case of de alcoholised wines Wine Halo

Google told me that non alcoholic wine starts as normal wine then you take the booze out, so I thought I might have better luck if I try paying Jacobs Creek prices rather than £2.50, though it seems v extravagant for a soft drink Blush

Will report back!
