Didn't realise you can only post 3 pictures, so here's the rest along with bump update ☺

Oh my nature baby is on sale www.naturebaby.co.nz I've just gone a bit wild! It's beautiful 100% organic cotton or merino, free shipping to the UK if you spend 80 pounds ( have to spend the same to get free shipping in NZ too grrr).

You have such a nice bump @raspberryinamelon! I was a little overweight before I got pregnant so while I look pregnant, im still waiting for it to go proper roundy and bumpy.

Autumnsweater · 26/01/2017 05:35

raspberry love the feature wall!

I'm up with lower back/sciatica pains shooting down one side Hmm. I've been off work this week so taken the dogs on some lovely long hill walks but think I might have overdone it.. have a physiotherapy appointment on Tuesday (fitted me really quickly as I'm pregnant!). Bit worried about going back to work next week if I still feel like this, my job is so physical.

Badgerbird · 26/01/2017 07:51

rise power and spam I feel your anxiety!! I had an unexpected trip to maternity triage yesterday. I called as I had reduced/no movements last few days then had some brown stringy bloody discharge when I wiped. Cue meltdown after previous bad experiences! I called and they told me to come in straight away. Baby's fine Smile

She had hiccups and was pushing the Doppler away! Couldn't feel either of these, damn anterior placenta. They checked cervix, urine, blood pressure and told me to come in again if no movement and not to be complacent because of anterior placenta. They were really great and put my mind at ease.

She has of course been struggling around more since then :)

peach I think it's funny that they tried to get name out if you! We have a couple of strong possibles but not sharing with people either.

Glad you're feeling a bit better bright :)

I have bookmarked so many bits and bobs from our thread ladies, thanks for all your research and inside jnfo!!

RasperryInAMelon · 26/01/2017 07:53

I'm impressed on the name front peach so you think it could change or that's it your decided? We have a few in mind but I'm finding it hard to a) picture what she'll look like and b) tie something with our middle name choices and our surname

Great that all is ok badger.

Adventuregame · 26/01/2017 08:14

I'm considering asking for 'delayed chord clamping'. My yoga teacher was telling us about it. Basically it allows baby's own stem cells to flow from placenta after birth so they get protection in later life from disease. It's only a few minutes apparently. I have MS and although not hereditary my worst fear is passing it on and there is an increased genetic factor. Discuss ?

Spam88 · 26/01/2017 08:21

Adventure I do tend to be a bit skeptical about these things, but I'd assume if there was any convincing evidence that that was the case then delayed clamping would be standard practice. That being said, as long as there's no risk to the baby from doing it then I don't see the harm.

1004Rise · 26/01/2017 08:34

Glad all is ok badger, I was woken up by a big kick this morning so today is a better day Grin I think it's also good to know that they'd rather hear from us if we're worried and that they don't think we're wasting their time. I think with everything that's going on in the NHS it makes you worry about being a nuisance but we have to remember to be a bit selfish for a few months!

Nursery looks really good rasperry!

Peach I'm impressed you have a name already, I find it funny they tried to get it out of you at your appointment Smile

savagehk · 26/01/2017 08:56

I'll be asking for delayed clamping, it's also supposed to give the baby more of their own blood iirc, so less likely to be anaemic etc. Asked for it last time but as it all went tits up in the end didn't happen. I think it's not standard practice because it means the baby can't be carted off immediately for cleaning/weighing as it's still attached to you.

peasandquiet · 26/01/2017 08:57

Beautiful bump and wallpaper rasberry, Where is it from? I'm keen to wallpaper a wall in the new nursery but my husband wants to do wall stickers like we did in my sons room! Really I'm thinking we should wallpaper a wall in both bedrooms 😂

My bump is definitely growing by the day, I'm also 23 weeks now and don't feel like it could hide the bump anymore!

lucieloos · 26/01/2017 09:03

Loving the nursery raspberry! This wallpaper arrived for our nursery yesterday. Hoping to get it up on the weekend.

Brightsmoke · 26/01/2017 09:19

Love the nursery Rasperry, looks really good! Love the wallpaper you've got too Lucie. My DH will probably want me to leave this thread now as I never thought of a feature wall of wallpaper, I might start looking now Grin.

Thanks Esmes & Badger, glad your ok too! Its scary isn't it!

Never heard of delayed chord cutting, something else to ask MW about next time! I feel so under prepared about labour!

teainbed · 26/01/2017 09:26

I think everyone gets delayed 'a bit' unless it's an emergency and mum or baby is in extremis.

Are you talking about a much longer delay? 1-3 minutes is standard now.

RasperryInAMelon · 26/01/2017 09:29

Peas its from B&Q - I think its called Colours Soft Lemon Geometric or something like that. Literally too excited for the weekend to roll around so we can get the furniture put together. Not sure if I'm more excited about that, or that I'll get my living room and kitchen back for all of the nursery stuff that's filling up the house!

The reason we decided to go with the wallpaper rather than stickers is that we don't know how long we're going to be in the house (we may even move before next Christmas) - the room needed doing anyway and we think that the next owners are likely to be much like DH and I were when we bought it - young first time buyers - so we didn't want to make it too 'young' or OTT. Although the paper wont be to everyones taste, its fresh and could be moved straight into as a spare room.

Lucie that paper is gorgeous! So cute! I'm feeling a little disappointed in the carpet we have had laid, it looks a lot darker than it did in the shop - it was much more of a grey shade, which was what we wanted, but too late now I guess.

I have an SPL question, not for me, but for a guy I work with... His wife doesn't work, are they still eligible for SPL and can he take the first 6 weeks so that he takes advantage of the 6 weeks at 90% of your salary? I'm inclined to say no, SPL is designed to support working families and that mum has to take the first two weeks anyway, must end her maternity allowance for his SPL to start and you cannot recommence Maternity Allowance once you have cancelled it is my understanding.

Thanks esme & bright :) Yes totally 1004!! I was worried they'd think I was wasting their time as I know they are so stretched.

Good to see the transformations in nursery AND bump raspberry!

Delayed cord clamping - yes for me from what I've heard. Still need to research it more.

Nurse15 · 26/01/2017 09:46

Hi everyone!

Beautiful nursery raspberry!

I'm here for another GTT today - had one done at 14 weeks because I had been on metformin for PCOS and now another one today at 24 weeks.

I'm getting really worried about my non existent bump - I have literally nothing other than looking a bit fat. I am at risk of restricted growth because of a septum in my uterus and so starting to panic now. Will mention it today at my GTT and see what they say Confused

MrsJW15 · 26/01/2017 09:52

Love the walls Raspberry and Lucie. We are not decorating (hoping to move within first year of baby) so I'm jealous of you all putting together real nurseries.

Love the bump Raspberry and good to see that you've still got your belly button piercing in as well. My belly button is threatening to pop out, but I'm leaving the piercing for as long as possible.

Good luck Nurse!

RasperryInAMelon · 26/01/2017 10:00

MrsJW I bought a couple of maternity bars from JoBananas and you cut them to the length you need. My original bar was waaaaay too short and starting to hurt so I swapped it over about a week ago. They weren't very expensive.

I've had it pierced for best part of 15 years so didn't want to remove it, my belly butting doesn't look right without it anymore 🙈

OP posts:
MrsJW15 · 26/01/2017 10:09

Raspberry I have a maternity one in, had to put it in a few weeks ago as mine was uncomfortable. I actually have always worn very short length piercings so I have some space! It's only if my belly button fully pops out that I'd take it out. I'm the same, have had it for Blush 17 years so would be very weird to take it out. But I hope the hole would stay even if I did.

Sipperskipper · 26/01/2017 10:18

Raspberry you and the nursery look gorgeous! Why do I just look like a swollen whale?!

Still haven't started on our nursery, we've both been so busy at work. I'm itching to start though!

Woke up at 1am, with the most excruciating leg cramps - my calves went rock hard and I was just rolling around groaning! Feel like I've run 10 miles this morning!

Surely labour can't be worse than that......?!

RasperryInAMelon · 26/01/2017 10:49

I'm sure that's not the case Sipper I bet you look bloody lovely 😘

I woke up with cramp a few times in the night too. DH reckons it's something to do with being dehydrated... I know I don't drink anywhere near enough, but I'm up and down for a wee every 5 mins as it is!

OP posts:
1004Rise · 26/01/2017 10:55

Rasperry MrsJW I had to take my belly piercing out at about 13/14 weeks couldn't get on with a maternity one either, my skin is just too stretched and my belly button popped fairly early, I've had mine in for about 18 years too so it does look a bit odd (but it looks odd anyway!!) Grin

PeachIcedT · 26/01/2017 11:28

Oh my what beautiful nurseries! This has honestly inspired me to redecorate the spare room I previously was adamant I wasn't going to do. Have a real thing for elephant theme lucie so that paper is right up my street!

Yes we are all set on name (presuming they have got the sex correct!) - I have always had an interest in girls names so for a long time have had this name in mind. Don't think I can change my mind now as I've successfully convinced DH and as I've never met anyone with the name I can't imagine thinking it wouldn't suit her, but who knows what pregnancy hormones will do!

MissMooMoo · 26/01/2017 11:43

Beautiful nurseries!
Ours is just full of baby things, I did paint it green last year because I knew it would one day be a nursery.
We have decided on a boys name but no luck for any girls names!
