So went to the hairdressers today despite feeling like crap with a cold, but it was a major struggle.

I am 24 weeks on Monday and these last few days baby has been very active. I can actually see my stomach moving now which is weird.... and some of the kicks are getting harder but most of the time it's a fairly gentle kick or roll!

Might start decorating the nursery next weekend, at the moment it's bit of a baby crap storage room

Spam88 · 28/01/2017 22:10

Thanks rustler, it's a mothercare own brand one though so it doesn't look like they stock it.

astormgivenflesh · 28/01/2017 22:19

23 weeks today which is exciting! Although I have an app that says baby was the size of a guinea pig last week and a chinchilla this week but I thought they were smaller so it's confusing!?

Bump is getting bigger, some days feels hard and others just squishy like normal chub! Can feel her moving a lot which is lovely

Have my GTT this Friday.

Freaked myself out watching lots of one born every minute - every woman seemed to have an IV in their hand Confused I once had blood taken from my hand and honestly the pain was so awful I still shudder thinking about it so now I'm terrified of this IV!!

Sorry to hear you're not getting the best emotional support from DH. Hopefully as you say he's just tired and will be a little more supportive over the coming weeks.

DH and I have had a crazy busy day, building nursery furniture and managing not to rip one another's heads off! Just need to order my chair from Mothercare now!

Rasperry I really like your cot, where did you get it? Does the side drop?

Rustler74 · 28/01/2017 23:40

Like the changing table too
Come on Raspberry don't leave us in tension

RasperryInAMelon · 28/01/2017 23:40

Rise it's from Mothercare the east coast fonatana set £574.99 for the cotbed, wardrobe and changing unit / chest of drawers.

The height lowers and then the whole thing turns into a bed later Smile

Nursery furniture starting to be put together here too. Just the drawers so far as it took DP four goes to make it properly 😂😂

Loving the nursery pics! DH rearranged DS's room earlier so the cot is by the wall and it looks so much bigger! I am feeling a bit sad about this baby not having anything in the way of storage yet, bloody hormones, but we've found out we're moving back to the UK in August so I will be able to sort out her room then Smile can't wait to start looking at paint etc.

It's definitely harder with a toddler to contend with. I don't even work and I don't feel like I'm getting everything done as so exhausted all the time. I do get bursts of productivity though and waiting for nesting to set in properly. I nearly cried earlier when DH said he'd go to Starbucks but ended up doing tidying instead Confused

Advice needed.

Last 2 days heart burn and indigestion have been really bad. Milk or chewing gum have been my go too's, but they are not cutting it, and I just feel like I need to be sick constantly - which I know I don't - I know I just need to suppress the feeling.

Any pointers? X

RasperryInAMelon · 29/01/2017 11:09

Sah I've been living on gaviscon Sad

OP posts:
Tickyboovicki · 29/01/2017 11:12

Sah I have been exactly the same! Actually made me sick twice yesterday which was unpleasant. Tried rennies but don't seem to do anything so going to send the other half out to pick up some gaviscon, fingers crossed! Had to sleep pretty much sitting up last night, not comfy!

Brightsmoke · 29/01/2017 11:16

Loving your nursery Rasperry! Looks really nice all set up.

For those who like foxes, this just popped up on my Facebook goo.gl/8tVGTY which looks cute and on offer! (Sorry if someone has already linked it here).

DH and I are having a lovely relaxing weekend, which is stressing me out as there's now just over 13 weeks to go until baby comes and there's still so much to do! Can't win eh!

peasandquiet · 29/01/2017 11:16

Gaviscon advance peppermint is what got me through the last 10 wks of my first pregnancy. It's just starting to creep back this time so will be getting it on prescription again in the next few weeks. I've got a rash on my chest that won't go away too so need a trip to the GP!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 29/01/2017 11:22

Sah was about to ask the same question, woke up at 4.30am with acid throat.

DP is ripping the bathroom out today ready for total revamp in next couple of weeks. He's switched the water off (will have to stay off for most of today) without first running any to make drinks or filling buckets to flush downstairs loo. My drinks choices today are half a bottle of lemonade, two rather scrummy (I imagine) bottles of wine left over from friends being over for dinner on Friday night and a cupboard full of maturing sloe and damson gin. I really, really nicely pointed out that this is not ideal - in fact tantamount to temptation too great to be resisted - for a pregnant lady, he laughed a lot. I wish we had a café in the village!

Thanks for the reassurance on the plausibility of using sleepyhead instead of snuzpod mattress Smile

Jugoo28 · 29/01/2017 11:40

Sah you can take antacids, just check with the pharmacist first but gaviscon, mylanta etc are safe. My heartburn wouldn't go away so my GP prescribed me riantidine which has helped immensely.

Sah1987 · 29/01/2017 11:42

After all my moaning my little girl just asked for a yogurt and I helped myself to one, and the fromage frais has done the trick!
Baby is now punching my downstairs area! Oh well off to work I go!!

growcookeat · 29/01/2017 11:46

Sah I had the same last week during my tummy bug. Dr prescribed a huge bottle of gaviscon type stuff! I've also found peppermint tea helps to settle things. Not easy but also trying to chew everything really well and eating slowly helped me.

Nursery blind and light fittings going up today. After a fall out in ikea yesterday we are no closer to having a chair in there though!! DH is convinced the ikea poang one won't fit but I think his measurements are wrong. We have little other option as the room is small Sad

Tickyboovicki · 29/01/2017 11:57

Ahh I'm so jealous of everyone getting to decorate their nurseries! Our house is currently on the market so spare room is just a store room for all the baby things at the minute! Well just make it functional until we move I guess Confused

savagehk · 29/01/2017 12:03

I find eno useful for acid throat (and general indigestion) but the UK sales did stop a few years back. However i spotted some in a local pharmacy recently so perhaps it's back...?

MissMooMoo · 29/01/2017 12:31

Wow so many of you are way ahead of us on the nursery front!
Our nursery is painted and we have a little chest in there that we had anyways but other than that its just a big dumping ground! I may convince DH to pop out to wilko later to look at rugs.

Yesterday morning I noticed my nipples were very tender, very similar to how they felt in the first trimester. In the afternoon when I was getting changed to go out for the night I noticed they were both leaking! Already had a box of breast pads just incase on the midwife's advice but it caught me off guard!
24+4 is this too early for leakage?

WishIWasSleeping · 29/01/2017 12:47

Dream... that warrants a trip to the nearest town for a costa/Starbucks! And your other half should be paying! BrewCakeSmile

Moo - Sadly not too early at all. I was leaking before my bump was showing with DD. I found the bamboo/cloth pads nicer before I started feeding, as they were more comfy to wear, and switched up to disposable ones once baby was here as they are easier to deal with!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 29/01/2017 13:32

Ha ha! Wish DP (still laughing) just came in and said 'get yourself dressed, I'm taking you out to McDonalds for lunch' - anyone would think he had planned this!!

Maybe a milkshake will do for my heartburn what the fromage frais did for yours Sah, though inclined to think I'll be picking up some Gaviscon as recommended.

savagehk · 29/01/2017 14:37

Breast leaking - no, not too early. Mine aren't leaking proper liquid yet (didn't last time until after birth, so not expecting them to) but close nipple inspection reveals there's some discharge hiding in my nipple - and has been for quite some time actually. (mental note to locate breast pads in case I need them soon though!)
PS sorry for duplicate posts, the android app appears a bit buggy.
