barnes I feel genuinely pissed off with DH for hours if he wrongs me in a dream.

badger whistle at the red bag!

peas you are not alone, I still find it easier to change 21m DS on the table as he will just give me the slip on the floor. We live in a flat though so no going upstairs to change.

Fell asleep when DS was napping earlier and woke up bring thoroughly kicked by baby Grin

newbieho · 28/01/2017 11:42

Hi Folks, I am struggling to keep on top of the conversation - you provide so much valuable advice already. Wishing you a good Saturday (it's nicely sunny here)

Rustler74 · 28/01/2017 11:57

Love the red bag, badger! I may need to move the rucksack on to OH now!

Re dreams: I have always had vivid dreams but it's not too bad lately apart from a few occasions, perhaps once or twice a week. My mum used to have them too, and she would tell me about them and be annoyed if I had been upsetting her in her dream, i thought that was so unfair so I'll try and avoid that!

I feel like my tummy and the breasts have grown so much in the last 1-2 weeks. I wonder if the BH contractions were also partially caused by the sudden growth of our little peapod? It's pretty active with lots of movement palpable and even visible and it makes me giggle.
I can't wait for my 24 weeks appointment next Thursday so I can hear the heartbeat again, but I think I can even feel it through my belly!
Thank you all on the changing table replies. I don't think that the floor is an option with my back, I'm also really old (one of my bosses jokingly called me a Jurassic mum, not made any better by the sonographer comparing my baby who lied on its side during first part of 20'week scan to a T Rex!)
I'll probably plump for the Ikea Sundvik or Hensvik, which will later on just be useful shelving units. we may also need to get another wardrobe for baby clothes and stuff because I don't like things to be lying around like that. The Ikea Hemnes Daybed looks like a good alternative for the current double bed we have in that room, but I think it will be worth a trip to Belgium as they are more than £100 cheaper there! £349 against 269 euros.
Sorry for my Saturday morning ramble! Wishing you lovely ladies a lovely weekend x

Barnes79 · 28/01/2017 12:38

I spoke to DH about my dreams and kept crying (I'm really not an emotional person normally - damn hormones) and he couldn't stop grinning (I think it made him feel loved). Each time I think about the dreams it makes me all teary-eyed. I'm really not enjoying being an emotional wreck. Fingers crossed it's a one day only blip...

I just wanted to say how much I loved everyone's nursery decorations etc so far! I'd been thinking of a bright nursery as I'd understood babies couldn't see much initially, but now am really trying to see how I can convert it into a more neutral colour scheme... Hmm

savagehk · 28/01/2017 12:43

Barnes if they're in with you at first colours less of an issue anyway. You can get some black and white toys etc for really early on too.

jennymac31 · 28/01/2017 12:47

Afternoon ladies

I thought a trip to the hairdressers would cheer me up but I still feel as crap as I did this morning. Felt incredibly tired yesterday and spent most of the day lying down when I should have been working. Now feel guilty and angry about how I'm finding this pregnancy more difficult to cope with. Feel much more emotional and try to speak to dh about it and he just responded by saying that I'm usually this emotional so I need to just stuck it up and get over myself as I won't really get any sympathy from him! I'm hoping he said this because he was tired (as he's been doing more than his fair share of taking care of dd and the house etc). His comments none the less have made me feel even more crap and pathetic than I felt before so don't even feel like talking to him about it anymore.

On a completely different note (and this is probably a weird question) are any of you ladies of the larger size and have managed to find a really supportive maternity belt? I'm a size 20 for my sins and am struggling to find one that is comfortable.

Rabbitykins55 · 28/01/2017 12:55

Rustler I throughly recommend that bed. I'm typing this as I lay on it when I'm supposed to be doing something else! Grin it's bloody heavy and massive boxes though so you'll need a big car or van. There are some decent ones on eBay too.

newbieho · 28/01/2017 13:11

Rustler another jurrasic mum here 🙋 I think it may be an advantage as I tend not to worry about some things that much once I'm older

MissMooMoo · 28/01/2017 13:31

Anyone else having a lazy day?
Last weekend was DH's birthday and I just didnt have time to relax at all! I really felt it all week so today I have done nothing Blush DH made some brekkie and is off playing football with his saturday team and I am still in my jammies and dressing gown, thinking about taking a nice warm bath and then heading to my local coffee shop for a nice cup of coffee and pastry.

EsmesBees · 28/01/2017 13:44

Feel for you Jenny the second time is harder in lots of ways. I'm really tired too but don't feel I get a minute inbetween work and looking after DD.

Although saying that, DH had her this morning so got a rare child free shopping trip. Treated myself to a couple of new maternity tops and some pretty muslins for the little one. Also bought myself some huge knickers from primark. I had them in my hospital bag last time but they are so comfortable I've been wearing them all the way through this time.

peasandquiet · 28/01/2017 13:57

Jenny I hear you, I've had a very emotional week, I feel like no one understands and almost end up a bit angry about it. I figure hormones must be all on the swish again. Chin up and remember we are all doing this for an amazing reason and it will all be worth it - I promise Smile

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 28/01/2017 14:21

Sorry you're having a hard time Jenny, I massively respect those of you that are doing this with a child/ children already.

For those with a fox crush (I'm with you, woodland animals theme/ colours whenever we get a chance to do nursery) have had a brilliant morning. Went for a walk with DP around the farm he works on and within two fields saw a bit of a holy trinity, woodcock, fox sprinting full width of field and roe deer with an almost black coat and the cutest little white bottom [embarrassed]. Also as many hares as you can bother to look up at (they are my favourite but you can't help but see them) and a sparrow hawk. It was like a farm safari!

Rustler74 · 28/01/2017 15:44

Totally jealous of your wildlife experience Dream!
Jenny I pm'd you xxx
Rabbity, I think my parents have one of those too! We aren't in a hurry but I was disappointed that the eBay ones are still quite expensive and also too far away!

I finally made work of letting my friend know that we will try do without that pram that she had kept in storage for 14 years. It's just not practical! In fact I messaged her husband who I think reacted quite a bit more rationally than she would have done. It's a tough one...
I am considering buying another one on eBay and am watching a few Uppababy ones. Keener to go with a sling instead though...

gulnak · 28/01/2017 15:49

Hi fellow May ladies
I'm new (wave) , sorry can't seem to add to spreadsheet, phone is playing up!
I'm 23 weeks preggo with DD3 :) x

Sah1987 · 28/01/2017 16:11

I wish I was having a chill out day - day off from work today, but work at the orange diy store and as a kitchen manager it's the busiest Saturday of the year for me, so had to go in for a few hours!
I used my changing table for 2 years, I cannot get down on the floor, so was a life saver.
My little girl threw herself off once - ended in A&E in hysterics (me) she was fine. And never did it again. Hasn't made her scared of heights either!!
We kept it and will be reusing it this time!!

I've brought a few nappies this week! However am not buying anything for the baby, my best friend is up to 30 outfits tiny baby to 0-3 months. So I'm thinking with that plus baby presents I'm sorted for first 3 months!

However have brought myself an amazing pregnancy jumper from Asda! I'll post the link! Only £12

Rustler74 · 28/01/2017 16:16

Hello Gulnak (waves back)
Welcome to what is possibly the fastest thread on mumsnet!
Myself and Raspberry are around the same due date as you.
I hope you'll enjoy the bunch x

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 28/01/2017 16:32

In bed resting up after the lovely walk - bought a SnuzPod on Ebay (as with my earlier pram purchase seller says mattress never used as they used a sleepyhead in it from birth - ladies does this sound plausible? - so will have to get my sniffer nose out again). It's a fair way from home to collect but only a few minutes from the holiday cottage we're off to from Monday - Friday Wink

Welcome Gulnak!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 28/01/2017 16:34

Rustler well done re 14 year old pram and doing what's best for you.

lucieloos · 28/01/2017 16:41

Dream, we have a sleepyhead that we will be using inside the snuzpod all the time so sounds plausible to me.

EsmesBees · 28/01/2017 17:09

And me dream. We never used the crib without the sleepyhead.

Can't believe your friend kept a pram for 14 years Rustler! I can't wait to get rid of ours and get the space back. Sounds like the right decision.

EsmesBees · 28/01/2017 17:37

There's a good thread in AIBU right now about hospital bag essentials. I know we've got a while but a useful one to bookmark.

Spam88 · 28/01/2017 17:51

Had a trip to ikea today, so we now have a cot and a changing table :)

Also went to mothercare to see whether they had the isofix base in stock yet for the pram we've bought (was told it would definitely be coming back in to stock at some point) and after much standing around (what's with not having chairs in a shop for pregnant women?) she eventually came back and said it might have been discontinued. So I'm pretty pissed off 😤

Badgerbird · 28/01/2017 18:36

Hi gulnak I'm 23 weeks too. Congrats Smile

jenny sorry to hear you're having such a rough time Sad I hope it gets a bit better and dp can give you the support you really need. It doesn't sound easy. Do you have any close friends in rl you can have a hug/ get emotional & practical support from?

So it seems I'm not alone with the rise in hormones this week. It's been a pretty crappy week and this tax return nearly finished me off today when I ended up in tears, DH came to the rescue! Just sooooo pleased to feel my little girl wriggling around inside me though :)

Rustler74 · 28/01/2017 18:48

spam88 you could try www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk as they can get any base in really. They would post them to you. Which pram have you got?
