Glitterbug and Chintaria yes DP exercises a lot and is naturally very slim. He looses weight if he eats badly, I just gain and gain! I am a bit overweight for my height and age but not too much so I can't argue that he's in the wrong but it does get a bit broken record like after a while and he's not great on handing out the compliments to balance it out! It's out first so we're both a bit Shock.

Glitterbug id love to know what you suggest for Iceland? We wanna do our own driving tour over 5 days. Do DM me if you want as I don't wanna go Off topic and clog the thread.

GimbleInTheWabe · 15/02/2017 15:42

Sorry to hear everything isn't as you'd wish Brightside. Fingers crossed everything turns out for the best for everyone, whatever that may be Flowers

powerpuffer · 15/02/2017 16:53

Urgh. Nausea has definitely kicked in over the last 3 days. The idea of food turns my stomach and I feel awful. I've not been sick yet but I feel on the verge constantly. I've just put on some Seabands and they seem to be easing it slightly, so fingers crossed they will be my magical cure!

ALRM · 15/02/2017 17:08

I am nauseous but eating ALL the yellow food to get through it... I am going to end up the size of a house!Shock

punkpuffin · 15/02/2017 17:08

Finally managed to get a midwife appointment for next week (originally told it wouldn't be until it March) I'm glad to finally have that sorted.

I'm so nauseous at the moment so sympathies to everyone else.

PlayOnWurtz · 15/02/2017 17:36

I'm a bit of an old hippy by nature and have looked into essential oils and nausea/morning sickness. Recommended ones are lemon, orange, lavender or peppermint. I've tried all 4 and orange and lavender seem to be most effective for me so I'm going to carry the bottles round with me for the foreseeable future! Sniff when feeling nauseous. I have some details of combinations for diffusers if anyone's interested

powerpuffer · 15/02/2017 17:55

I thought you were supposed to avoid Lavender oil in the first trimester? I'm not an expert but I thought I read that in one of the books I have

dinosaurkisses · 15/02/2017 18:06

@Yellowstarred I'm in Dublin too!!!!

Very jealous of all these NHS ladies and their 12 week scans- I've picked Holles Street and although they were super quick with getting my documents sent out and organising my 12 week appointment, I've been told the only scan I'll get is at 20 weeks

I've booked in for a private early scan next week (I'll be eight weeks) so I can reassure myself I'm actually pregnant and it's not a phantom baby 😂

doomkittycleo · 15/02/2017 18:11

I'm off to make my first pregnancy related purchase; non underwired bras. Boobs are not very big yet, but they are tender.

PlayOnWurtz · 15/02/2017 18:17

I'll get rid of the lavender then! Thanks

powerpuffer · 15/02/2017 18:23

wutz It's so annoying to find something that might help can't be used! Hopefully you find a replacement.

emwithme · 15/02/2017 18:38

I've got my booking in appointment sorted Grin - I had no clue what I needed to do, so I went to the doctors and saw the receptionist and said "erm, this might sound silly but I've just found out I'm pregnant. What do I do now in terms of seeing a midwife etc" Apparently I just book one of her long appointments (ideally when I'm between 6 and 9 weeks) and the midwife takes it from there, so we're seeing her on 2 March, when I'll be about 7 weeks ish.

Is anyone else having the NIPT (Harmony) test? It's about £500 down here (Somerset - you do get a scan too apparently) but DH and I think it might be sensible (due to my age and the fact that I know we couldn't cope with a baby with a trisomy)

I'm trying to convince myself that I don't feel as queasy as I do. It's not "I'm going to throw up" point, more like "I'm on a really rough boat/bouncy car round country lanes with a hangover" feeling.

I've been lying my pants off all over Facebook the past couple of days though; it was my birthday yesterday and although I had a glass of the champagne that I've had my eye on since I couldn't drink it at Christmas because of being on antibiotics (when everyone thought I was pregnant until I showed them the bloody packets) I didn't drink the whole bottle like I made out, definitely wasn't tipsy OR have a hangover this morning!

Mishmishmish · 15/02/2017 18:42

Hi everyone, I did a pregnancy test on Monday and am due 22 Oct! I really meant to keep it a Surprise for my DH for Valentine's Day but couldn't manage it :) I feel like I've forgotten everything from last time. No symptoms so far bar coffee tasting strange and a ravenous deep hunger a couple of times last week...had to have two dinners! My last pregnancy was pretty much symptom free, was very lucky.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 15/02/2017 18:51

Re harmony, the NHS is starting to roll out their version, but I don't know what areas/when, a friend had it done on the NHS about 6 months ago, called Iona. If we get offered it I would do it, but unless DH gets a decent bonus then I don't think we can afford it privately.

I'm still testing daily out of paranoia and the tests are still good thank god. I've got a location scan on Monday when I will be 5+1 and then I have another booked for 2/3 when I should be 6+4 so should see the heartbeat. Assuming we make it that far then I'm over my danger points so at that point it is likely just to be genetics that pose a risk to us. Can't wait to see the scan on Monday and to see if my suspicions are right that I ovulated from both sides this month! We always wanted 4 children but i know if this pregnancy works out I can't face ttc and having another pregnancy as I'll be 41 when this one/two are born. So in a way although twins would be very hard to carry and the first 6 months would be tough, it would give us the family we wanted and give them a playmate their own age as my boys will be 5 and nearly 7 when this pregnancy is due.

donkey86 · 15/02/2017 19:13

I'm still worrying a silly amount about not feeling ill. I think if I hadnt felt ill at all I'd be less worried; it's the fact that I was sick last week and have been feeling totally fine this week that's getting to me. It's like it just stopped.

I just did another test in case and it came out saying 3+ which I suppose should be a relief, but as I'm 8 weeks now it doesn't really tell me anything - I can't help but wonder if my levels are where they should be for 8 weeks or if they're only just over 3 and it's all going wrong. I also feel guilty for worrying possibly unnecessarily when other people have real things to worry about!

I've got my booking in appt next Tuesday. Hopefully the midwife will be reassuring.

I'm glad we have this thread to share our worries in! And it'll be nice further along the line when it's less worry and more excitement.

hometownunicorn · 15/02/2017 20:00

donkey I know what you mean. I'm finding not feeling too bad quite anxiety provoking too. I had a day of feeling fine yesterday and today I'm a bit tired and grumpy and bloated and gassy (lovely...). But boobs don't feel as tender and I don't have any of the sicky feelings I was starting to get. Which is confusing me and making me worry, probably unnecessarily.

I just keep telling myself there's nothing I can do anyway, which shuts up my brain for about a second. Also my mum said she was never really sick with me, more generally feeling a bit rubbish which I've found reassuring too.

On the other hand, I really feel for you guys who are really sick. I hope it calms down a bit.

charmanar · 15/02/2017 20:21

emwithme we had harmony last time, although got it free at our hospital. I'm so glad we did it as it took any doubt away about a trisomy problem, but it was the most agonising week waiting for the result! Maybe wait to see what your chance is of trisomy at the 12 week scan is before you decide to pay?
donkey I'm also at the daily tests, although I've been using free ones from work!! What an expensive business this worrying can be otherwise, last time I cracked and bought a Doppler (bad idea) and had 2 private scans for all the worry. But good idea to use the group here for talking about it and get some verbal reassurance! EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK!!

mummabubs · 15/02/2017 20:34

Donkey and hometown- I'm 7+1 and other than being knocked flat by a cold I've have virtually no pregnancy signs. My friend just announced her good news and she's over 16 weeks and has nothing- no sore boobs, no sickness and no tiredness, never has! My mum had none of it with me (apart from randomly craving the juice that pickled onions come in!) and my colleague at work didn't have sore boobs or sickness either. Don't get me wrong, I've had my moments of worrying too, but I'm feeling reassured hearing so many people who had perfectly normal pregnancies without any of the nasties some experience. Long may it last I say!! X

donkey86 · 15/02/2017 20:39

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling a bit calmer now. I think I just let my worries run away with me for a while!

Presh88 · 15/02/2017 21:06

Hi everyone - had a private scan today and saw the tiniest little blob with a heart rate of 186 ❤️ all looked fine and they measured me a bit behind my dates so 6+5 instead of 7+4 like I thought. Not sure how accurate it was though as the screen was very blurred! Just relieved as like a lot of you I haven't had really bad symptoms.
Hopefully I will now sleep tonight instead of worrying!

Glitterbubble · 15/02/2017 21:08

Gimble can I DM you on the app? Or has to be desktop??

DancingUnicorn · 15/02/2017 21:08

Yay presh! Great news! My oh doesn't want a private scan, just says what will be will be, but I'm starting to think I'd really like one! Too impatient! And I think if I'd seen something on a screen I'd feel better about telling our parents! Feel bad that I'm keeping such a big secret from them ATM!!

Presh88 · 15/02/2017 21:12

dancing I would recomemend it - I was really nervous before but it has reassured me as I would have preferred to find out early if something wasn't right. I know there is still a risk of that happening but personally it's made me more relaxed Smile

Zookeeper73 · 15/02/2017 21:40

Sorry for those feeling crap or wishing they were feeling crap!

I'm very much on team cramping, still getting some spotting too and yesterday had two very small bleeds. I did another test this morning and it still said pregnant and 2-3 weeks, 8 days ago it said 1-2 so I guess that's progress. Just a bit concerned though as from lmp, I should be 5+6 today so it should be 3+ as I have 28 day cycles.

Flowers to everyone else who is worrying

Zookeeper73 · 15/02/2017 21:41

That's great news, Presh!
