Thanks ALRM, my scan isn't for a week but you have given me a little bit of hope it might be OK.

The sleeps thing seems to be really common, any vivid dreams?

punkpuffin · 10/02/2017 12:55

Hello everyone!! I've just found out I'm roughly 8 weeks after my coil failed. I have 2 ds, 3yo & 11mo so it's all a bit scary. Will probably be due early October. I have an early scan tomorrow as the coil has disappeared and they want to try and find it.

Cineraria · 10/02/2017 12:57

Good luck Nimisha, hope you get good news today.

I had my first appointment with the GP today; we don't self refer in my area. Not very exciting, he just calculated dates, checked I was generally ok, taking folic acid and not doing anything I shouldn't (smoking, drinking, having too much caffeine or eating foods that aren't recommended), then agreed to refer me to the local midwives but the bigger scanning unit at Kings.

He didn't weigh me, which they normally do. Phew! I haven't managed to get out of the habit of eating what I needed to when DS used to breastfeed constantly for eight hours overnight when he had bad acid reflux and so I'm a bit bigger than I was when I was six weeks pregnant with him and didn't want reminding of it!

harrietm87 · 10/02/2017 13:17

New symptom of today - nose bleeds! Twice today already. Googled and apparently it's common in pregnancy due to increased blood flow. Has anyone else had this? I look like an idiot sitting at work with tissue up my nose!

ALRM · 10/02/2017 13:28

Yep @nimisha one where I was tellinf teenagers off for riding swans... odd

powerpuffer · 10/02/2017 13:50

Yes to vivid dreams - several a night. Also starting to feel a bit nauseous and gone off most foods. 5+5 for me today.

wapsmahoney · 10/02/2017 14:25

powerpuffer Im the same on the nausea front ... I just feel a bit sick all the time! Nothing extreme, more than annoying sick feeling which is more like mild car sickness! Im 6 weeks today and this kicked in a day or so ago.

Im over being at work today ... roll on 4.30!!

Cineraria · 10/02/2017 14:31

Muy strange dreams always seem to reduce around six weeks, which is today. Shane really as they are quite entertaining and reassuring when you don't have any other symptoms. I had one the other day that I sent DS swimming on his own. He is only sixteen months old and can't even walk yet let alone swim but in my dream he was toddling off down the stairs to the changing rooms with his swimming bag over his shoulder and DH and I were heading off to have lunch out somewhere else.

Food seems both disgusting and necessary at the moment. If I don't eat I feel sick but if I do, I get bad indigestion and most proper food seems hugely unpalatable anyway. I'm back on the cup-a-soup and white bread diet which will probably give the game away to any of my colleagues who remember me wasting only that from my first pregnancy.

How scary about your coil punkpuffin. I hope it all goes well and that having an unexpected addition to the family doesn't cause too many difficulties.

Walikingdeadfan · 10/02/2017 14:37

Had my first appt with gp today. Not very exciting either to be honest. Also didnt get weighed as she couldnt find any scales.
Did get a pack with some nappy samples though!
Also very tired today, just had 90 minute nap.

punkpuffin · 10/02/2017 15:43

cineraria it's a massive shock as we only live in a 2 bed house so we have an appoountment with a mortgage advisor this week as we'll need to move which is obviously a massive thing. We also need a bigger car and a double pushchair as the yougest will only be 18 months. So lots of money we weren't expecting to spend but I'm actually excited and I don't care that its going to be a massive change.

powerpuffer · 10/02/2017 15:50

I've had an upset stomach for a couple of weeks now but my GP said it's quite common.

I'm loving the vivid dreams too - I had one where there was a baby elephant in the front garden so I made my sister drive round to help me catch it and I gave it to DH as a pet. We have a catalog and it would go in and out through that. I was quite disappointed to wake up and realise it wasn't real!

TippetyTapWriter · 10/02/2017 16:24

This thread moves fast! Hello to the newcomers. ALRM, I'm due 15th too!

Didn't realise vivid dreams were a symptom, but could explain the epic crime-caper style one I had last night which was all about, um, returning a shopping trolley to Sainsbury's after hours. No idea why it was so important!

Sympathies to all those with morning sickness. I didn't get any last time, so hopefully I'll be lucky again. Though last time I spent the first trimester worrying that I didn't have it!! Strange the things you manage to worry about...

CarpeDiem83 · 10/02/2017 16:41

Another here who had GP appointment today - measured height weight and blood pressure and went through eating/alcohol/vitamin advice. Also suggested flu jab but feels a bit late in the flu season to bother...... GP did send off request to hospital to get me on system for scan etc as well.

I'm a bit jealous of the vivid dreams - more fun than nausea and tiredness!

Kirsty8333 · 10/02/2017 16:57

Nausea has started for me today I think at 5+3. Feeling thirsty all the time and wanting to eat constantly to feel better. I had this with my last two pregnancies. Also feeling really tired and have been waking up the last few nights about 2-3 and feeling really uncomfortable. I end up tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep.

MrsCharlieD · 10/02/2017 17:27

Another one having weird dreams. I remember them from last time but I don't think they started this early.

We have bought a new car today. A proper grown up 4x4 with a big boot and everything. It feels like such a milestone lol. We could do with a bigger house but that will have to wait. Hope everyone is OK!

Bubbles225 · 10/02/2017 17:39

Powerpuffer I'm feeling the same as you! I'm so hungry I want to eat everything yet nothing is appealing. Very strange.

Mulberry that sounds awful. I work in school too & an dreading the sickness starting. On a trip on Monday... I get travel sick at the best of times! 🙊 Hope the doc sorts you out Smile

Cath1212 · 10/02/2017 17:59

I had my GP appointment - he was really really lovely - took my blood pressure etc but completely forgot to tell me some of things I should or shouldn't be doing!
Didnt mention about all the foods we shouldn't eat etc! or the vitamins
Just told me to keep up with any exercise and cut down to 1-2 units of alcohol per week (not to open a can of worms)
Anyway, he has sent my details off so that it something ticked off!

DancingUnicorn · 10/02/2017 18:12

I've been waiting a week to hear back after my self referral. I'd hoped to hear something! Don't know if I need to try to make an appointment with my GP as well. Seems kind of overkill...

tammie49 · 10/02/2017 18:34

@punkpuffin I hope they solve your coil mystery. I find them a bit scary

Nosebleeds - I had them 3 days in a row around the 29th Jan so a week or so before I found out. Could well have been connected.

iemma321q · 10/02/2017 19:05

Hi ladies

Please can I join you? I'm 5 weeks pregnant today. This will be my second child. Unfortunately I had an early miscarriage in November so am feeling very anxious this time round. It will be so nice to have others to chat to online as my dh and I have no intention of sharing our news with others for quite a while yet. How is everyone feeling?

TinySalmon · 10/02/2017 19:49

OMG who else is an anxious wreck?

Just paid £90 for two blood tests to monitor my hcg levels. Good news is it has doubled in 48hrs like it's supposed to so I can breathe a sigh of relief... for now. ( TMI ) Won't stop me scrutinising my knickers or loo roll for blood like a mad woman.

New joiners! Hurrah! Need to update the list when I get a chance later.

DancingUnicorn · 10/02/2017 20:11

Tiny I'm also knicker checking! I've not done anything else to confirm... I guess there's nothing I can control at this point anyway, right? But I'm with you on the terror. Hopefully it eases!

Hi iemma. Sorry about your mc. I'm also 5 weeks today. Been annoyingly symptom free today, which is making me worry. My boobs don't even seem quite as sore. Hopefully all ok!

harrietm87 · 10/02/2017 20:15

tiny and dancing me too with the knicker checking! I keep feeling like I'm bleeding but not - just creamy CM (sorry tmi!). Also constant low level period type cramps that I'm finding weirdly reassuring.

puttingourhoodupdown · 10/02/2017 20:29

Evening all, pretty much all day sickness here today, bleurgh! I had my early scan today though and there was a lovely little bean with a wonderful heartbeat. My DD has now changed to 23 sept so 7+6 today. So lovely to see a little baby there!!! We told our parents today which was lovely too.

I had nosebleeds in my first pregnancy, not had any so far this pregnancy though

Trytowin · 10/02/2017 20:55

Hi all I'm back. Been on holiday in the canaries for a week.

Being super cold in 26 degree heat was a new one! Sickness and nausea has well and truly taken hold. Spent quite a lot of time laid in bed.

Food does not appeal ATM managing only to be sick once. Spearmint polos seem to be helping!

I'm 5 weeks 4 days today
