Morning everyone! dancing thanks for the 3am moral support, hope you managed to get back to sleep. had a mini melt down this morning as felt so tired and worried but got home and I've done another test and line is darker so think it's all in my (cray cray) head. Definitely with you all on the bloat! Wow tinysalmon your bump was barely there at 14 weeks!
I've got the hurrah for gin book which offers some 'alternative' advice. Let us know what 'what to expect' is like tequila think I need to read up.

TippetyTapWriter · 09/02/2017 08:58

MrsCharlie, do you have any plans to improve your first's sleep before #2 comes along? We decided to go cold turkey on milk at night as he was still having a bottle at about 3-4am. He was up for two hours the first night but last night slept through!! But he has slept through once or twice before only to wake up ten times the next night so I'm not congratulating myself yet. And I commend the choice of haribo, that's my addiction... Though I've also started to crave wine gums. Can't blame pregnancy as it started before xmas. I put on quite a bit of weight last time so got to try and be more sensible now, though already constantly ravenous.

Have just learnt my local hospital doesn't do births (moved areas after ds was born so clueless about maternity services here). And the hospital that does do births doesn't allow women to use the mlu after c sections (had an elcs as ds was breech) :(

Lovechild2016 · 09/02/2017 08:59

From top to bottom in chronological order. (Excuse the tea stains on the dresser). 4 weeks today so by rights should really only be testing now.

October 2017-come one come all!
conkerchops · 09/02/2017 09:49

My husband thinks I'm crazy because I like to do a test every couple of days to see the line getting darker! I find it v reassuring! The hurrah for gin book is absolutely hilarious!!!!!! I love her v alternative take!!!!! Now every time one of my kids is acting up I stand there and mutter 'FML, FML !' Like she does! I want to get the new one called 'how to grow a baby and push it out' - it's written by a midwife who had twins I think!

Lovechild2016 · 09/02/2017 10:03

Glad I'm not be only persistent poas-er conker I don't think the men really quite get the anxiety, my DH just keeps telling me to enjoy it! That books sounds great, definitely need to get my hands on it. Having to do some secretive reading of hurrah for gin as this is number 1 and haven't told anyone except my sister yet. Not sure how we are expected to keep it underwraps until 12 weeks!!!!

Babycarmen · 09/02/2017 11:21

People are guessing I'm pregnant already because of my 'bump' there is no bump... I'm only 5 weeks!!!!!! I'm so bloated and I've no use why but it's not going down! I showed really early with DD 2 but this is ridiculous...

harrietm87 · 09/02/2017 11:36

I did a second test today (clearblue digi) cos I wanted to see the word "pregnant"! My first one was a faint line on a FRER, though tbh I feel so sick I don't really doubt I'm pregnant. Worried about the next few weeks if I feel this bad at 4 weeks! Also I am so hungry - eating constantly so already concerned about weight gain.

Allykatz · 09/02/2017 12:57

Hi everyone. I got a positive Sunday and feel like a whale. Loads of sensations in belly. Have no idea how far gone. Had a bleed in Jan but now I'm not sure whether that was implantation on not. But I feel so far gone already. Sickness on and off. Not half as bad as 1st. But feel preg. Which I find weird.
Oh and no1 knows except OH and my mum

pollybythesea · 09/02/2017 13:18

hey hows everyone doing? i have bad insomnia, slept for about 3 hours only last night and feel awful today. ive never experienced it before. mixing up raw carrot and ginger juices several times a day for the nausea (it really helps - the raw carrot helps to process any excess hormones and ginger is good for nausea of course - try it ladies) so at least got that nailed. silver linings!

Emberblu · 09/02/2017 13:53

Hi to all the newbies and congratulations!
From what I'm reading everyone is so organised and proactive- mixing up juices, excersizing and generally being wonder women! Me? well... I just about manage a 30minute walk each day and I was feeling queasy earlier and all I wanted was tortilla chips and dips so that's what I had... and we had dominoes last night so I feel extra guilty today! But I have got an appointment with the midwife tomorrow so I have accomplished something!
So emotional at the moment! And last night I had such bad cramping that I just sat with a hot water bottle all evening Sad. I wish I could be a super woman too but think I'm probably just gonna be fat and guilty for 8 more months...

JackiePaper · 09/02/2017 14:31

Hello and welcome to all the newbies! Ember - don't worry you're not the only one, I am doing lots of sitting under blankets, napping and eating whatever I feel like, although this may be why all my clothes are too tight already!
I did a clear blue digital this morning, by my LMP I'm 4+4 but test said 3+ which was really reassuring, I have quite short cycles so thinking I ovulated a bit earlier and more like 5 weeks, dp is panicking that it's twins Grin
I haven't contacted anyone about maternity care yet, but I'll have my care and birth at the hospital I work at, so assuming I can just self refer. Harriet - Just because you're consultant led care doesn't mean you can't chose which hospital, you definitely can chose whichever one you like although you can't usually pick your obstetrician.

Kirsty8333 · 09/02/2017 14:38

Wow tiny you looked so small last time! I'm definitely bigger than normal already. I really want to try and keep my weight down this time as I got stretch marks with my second pregnancy so want to try and prevent anymore. I'm trying to exercise while I can before the tiredness kicks in. Still not feeling very pregnant apart from sore boobs. I too keep testing just to check I get a line. Planning to do my last digital test on sat and hoping to see a 3+ to reassure me everything is ok

Starfish83 · 09/02/2017 15:49

Welcome newbies! 😊

I'm 4+5 today, and 12 weeks still seems so far away! I wish I could monitor what was going on inside - it seems so funny just to know I'm pregnant and then have to wait for so long (if that makes any sense!)?

I was very bloated last week but it seems to have gone down a little. I'm eating everything in sight, am feeling the cold, am tired, and have some very gentle cramps now and then.

Angelicjen, I'll be with North Bristol NHS Trust - I emailed them my form just over a week ago, but haven't heard anything yet. How are you doing?

Hope everyone's having a good day.

⭐️ xx

Cath1212 · 09/02/2017 15:53

I am 5 weeks and no real symptoms as of yet, i even took another text yesterday just to check! Its a really odd feeling knowing you are pregnant but life carries on as normal! I have to keep reminding myself to step away from the Starbucks :-)
now I have said this I will probably wake up tomorrow and feel like crap!! haha
hope everyone else is going ok x

wapsmahoney · 09/02/2017 15:57

Starfish83 I know how you feel! I still haven't gotten my head around the fact that Im pregnant! I've spent the day sat at my desk freezing and wanting to eat everything in sight!
Im fairly close to you and Angelicjen - Im just south of Bath. I self referred to the midwife today and am still waiting for a call back!

Im 5+6 today and it feels like time is going SO slowly!!

Cath1212 · 09/02/2017 16:00

I definitely haven't got my head around it yet! I think its because you cant really talk about it with anyone! it just doesn't seem real

Sbs6jb1 · 09/02/2017 16:12

Sorry for the lack of reply, I thought I had watched this thread but obviously not and had a LOT of catching up to do!

Sorry to those with losses and I hope those in limbo get what they wish for x

My EDD is around the 2nd Oct although my cycles were all over the place so I may be earlier than I thought. I had an early scan at what I thought was 5+4 but measured 4+5 and subsequent scan of what I thought was 6+4 was 5+4 but we saw a little heartbeat and the consultant said to not be worried about the difference in dates at such an early point (and banned me from Google!).

Maternity pack collected and waiting for the midwife to call. Shiiiiit this is real!

Still not counting my chickens but two huge hurdles jumped following my last ectopic!

Best of luck to all, ladies! X

Starfish83 · 09/02/2017 17:22

Cath and Waps, glad to hear I'm not the only one! Hope at the next few weeks fly by for us all. 😊

Waps, nice to learn that we are so close geographically, too.

Sbs, well done you - you are well and truly on the pregnancy path.

puttingourhoodupdown · 09/02/2017 18:55

Wow the list is really growing!
8 weeks today for me, early scan tomorrow so fx for wriggling, healthy bean !!!

hometownunicorn · 09/02/2017 18:56

Wow, I haven't looked at this thread for a day or so and it's grown massively. Congrats to those getting their BFPs.

tinysalmon my EDD is around 5th October by my calculations.

I'm still so cold, and desperate for salty food, but otherwise ok. I felt really bloated last week but it seems to have got a bit better so I hope it does for everyone else who's feeling it.

Does anyone have any book suggestions for men? Not sure if the ones above would be good for both of us? He likes a handbook, I'm a bit more relaxed about it I think.

powerpuffer · 09/02/2017 18:57

8 weeks?! Blimey. I'm not jealous. Not one bit...

TippetyTapWriter · 09/02/2017 19:34

Time is going so slowly! I keep knicker checking and I'm paranoid about every twinge. I was like this the whole 9 months last time... Twelve weeks seems an age. Only symptoms so far are that I feel exactly like my period is due and I'm also cold!

conkerchops · 09/02/2017 19:39

Wow eight weeks puutingourhoodupdown (how do you take people on here so they go black!) that seems so so far away at 5+4 !!!! I picked up my antenatal pack this morning - I can't bring myself to fill it in though as I did last time and got excited and then had the mmc :-(
