Hi everyone, another new joiner here!

I got my BFP last Wednesday, I estimated I'm due 9th October. This is my first and didn't expect it to happen as quickly as it did! I've got a GP appointment on Friday so perhaps it will feel more real then.....in the meantime I'm trying not to worry about every ache and twinge (but mostly failing). Only told DH but I think some friends suspect as my excuses for not drinking on Saturday were rather weak!

Carpet I get you on not thinking it would happen so quickly. I thought I'd have a few months to get anxious excited about being pregnant... and then did it on first cycle of trying. But of a whirlwind! What were your lack of drinking excuses? I need some for next week!

I'm definitely joining the freezing cold club - I am sorely tempted to turn the heating up to tropical levels. Also had my first wave of nausea today while in the car. That was fun.

Hi everyone please can I tentatively join? Had a BFP yesterday after a squinter day before. EDD 19/10/17. This is first pregnancy for me and not sure what to expect. Feeling excited but anxious. Maybe have a few symptoms but not sure. Have a stinking cold, pulling/bloated feeling in lower abdomen and have a lump in the back of my throat that might be nausea might be heartburn related. No sore boobs or real nausea yet, feeling a bit anxious because of this but I suppose everyone is different. Oh and I'm definitely having some insomnia! Lovely to be able to talk about it all on here!

Hi new joiner here, just got bfp (1-2 weeks) on Clearblue

1st pregnancy and due around 16 October. GP appointment next Wednesday.

Feeling a bit sick, sore boobs and spotty. Otherwise doesn't really feel real!

Seeing family next weekend and bit nervous as they will notice I'm not drinking. I've got a story ready as I get bad reflux so I'll just say that has flared up. But I hate lying too them... but I also don't really want to tell before gp apt.

Also nervous about telling work- there are 4 other pregnant women in my team and my boss sent me a "jokey" email saying he hoped it wasn't giving me any ideas.

Hi lovechild my EDD is also 19 oct, I also found out yesterday and it'll be my first baby (I hope!). Period due only today - yesterday was 12dpo.

I've been awake for the last couple of hours with terrible nausea, and have had cramps for the last few days. Boobs not sore though!

Tequila I'm sorry your boss sent you such an email. Hopefully when the time comes it'll all be fine and work will be happy for you. I totally understand though as I'm also terrified about telling them for a similar reason (not the email, just other pregnancy) I think I'm going to tell my boss pretty early so we can prepare!

Glacial pace is exactly how it feels! I woke up this morning with boobs so sore that I've decided I need to get a comfy sports type bra to sleep in. I could do with the extra cleavage that is meant to be growing bit unfortunately for me it seems I've just got the soreness with no growth!

Gosh charlieD glacial place is a perfect description I'm like what do you mean I'm only week 4! Almost wish I was one of those people who finds out realising they are ten weeks pregnant so I don't have to go through the anxiety of this very early stage. Need to chill out and remember to enjoy it. Arr! A reassuring wave of nausea just came over me. I am bonkers.

Welcome all newbies and congratulations! It certainly is a glacial pace - it feels like I've been in week five forever! With my dd I found out completely by accident at 8 weeks and time certainly seemed to go much faster because of that! I'm working at home today and waiting for gp to call me with date for early scan so I am definitely going to have the heating up nice and warm!!!!
The main symptom
I have today is a blocked nose - does anyone else have this?

conkerchops - I know what you mean about time going so slowly! It feels like this week has dragged by! I think im just feeling impatient as I still don't REALLY feel pregnant. As for the blocked nose ... I had that a couple of days ago but its gone again now - along with the sore boobs. Trying not to panic!

Im going to be brave and self refer to the midwife today.
When does everyone have their appointments?

Wasp I had blood test on Friday, booking in next Wednesday & nhs scan on 2 March. Going for a private scan on Friday too when I should be 8+1

Wapsmahoney - my boobs felt less sore yesterday but more sensitive again this am! It is so worrying!
I have an early scan at the EPU on 25th Feb when I will hopefully be 8 weeks - I did my GP appt yesterday and she called me again this am to confirm early scan (she is a really fab gp!) and then have my booking in with the midwife the weds after the scan! -am sure the 2 and a half weeks till the scan will drag!!!!

conkerchops Im glad im not the only one!

Im thinking of arranging an early scan for around 20th feb ... DH and I are flying to South Africa on 23rd and I will be 9 weeks when I get back. In someways going away will take my mind off things but at the same time gives me a whole load of other things to worry about!

Off to phone the midwife ... am hoping she might be able to see mw before we go away ... but that might be wishful thinking!!

I called GP practice to try to self refer to midwife but was told needed GP appointment first so mine is tomorrow morning. wapsmahoney I also don't feel pregnant, it's weird I feel like a fraud. conker I have a blocked nose but putting that don't to a virus (the 'virus' that's making me feel ill that may infact be pregnancy...).

waspmahoney I'm also going away to America at beginning of March, but worried about having bad MS think I'm likely to get it and also if anything goes wrong. Will hopefully take my mind of things though.

I've got an appointment with the midwife next Friday but planning to see the gp before then to ask/beg for an early scan. If not I'll have to decide if we want to pay £89 for a private one. I too think time is going really really really slow! I'm only 5+1. I've still got sore boobs and seem to be really hungry at the moment.

I'm in! Only came off the pill at Christmas, last period started Christmas day (perfect I thought, intending to be far too full for sex for the best part of a week) and got my BFP on Monday 6th Feb. Had had tingly boobs but as I didn't know how long my cycle would be, having been on the pill for most of the last 18 years, it was only when I also got a couple of nosebleeds I put 2 + 2 together and realised it was time for a test! Pretty pleased with ourselves.

rayna that's interesting you mention nosebleeds! I've had blood when blowing my nose a few times since I got a bfp and never thought much of it or realised it was an early pregnancy sign - but just looked and apparently due to hormonal changes!

I am feeling a bit sleepy this afternoon and craving coffee, but made myself have a fruit smoothie instead.
Have also had blocked nose but is better today than it was last night- it is also a symptom of hormonal changes!
