Yes power! My boobs are killing me! Really tender and aching. I've had cramping on and off and waves of mild nausea. I had similar in my last pregnancy so I think it's all normal.

MrsCharlieD · 05/02/2017 07:26

Twinkle I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. That must have been heartbreaking. A friend from my June 2014 group has just been through similar and it's so hard to even comprehend. I hope this pregnancy is plain sailing for you x

Twinklelittlestar1 · 05/02/2017 09:37

Morning ladies, thanks for the kind words and support.

Daisy, Ditto on the glamorous flatulence! I don't remember that one.

Ladies who've had more than one pregnancy, have you generally found your symptoms the same in your pregnancies? I had horrific sickness last time from weeks 6-12 so I'm hoping it's not quite so bad or at least that it will also end at 12 weeks if I do suffer with it.

GimbleInTheWabe · 05/02/2017 10:09

Morning Ladies. Hello and congrats to the new joiners!

Can anyone advise me as I'm a little confused? I'm referred myself to kings college hospital in London and I got some paperwork about my 12 week scan sent through the post yesterday but I wasn't sure if that would be my first hospital/midwife appointment or not? I've seen some people post here about a midwife coming round before then but am I meant to contact someone else about that? I went to my GP and she said to refer myself to the hospital but didn't arrange any other appointments. This is my first time so I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be doing and we haven't told anyone yet. I am 5 +5 xx

DancingUnicorn · 05/02/2017 10:16

Hi... This feels completely mad. Got my bfp with my first yesterday (well, Friday really but I genuinely didn't believe it). Definitely want some company for all this! EDD is 11th Oct. So far symptoms are bit of mild cramping, mild nausea which is so far solved by eating everything, and being tired, but that may because I've been too excited to sleep.

I'm so sorry for all the losses people have had. 💐

tammie49 · 05/02/2017 11:03

Twinkle - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Hoping all is uneventful this time.
Gimble - you tend to have a booking in appt with the community midwife through your gp. I did last time.
I'm just glad I'm due in Oct. DS was born on Christmas day!!

Is anyone else still BFing? I'm still feeding my 13 month old and always planned to let him self wean. Not sure what to do now.

krakentoast · 05/02/2017 13:23

Only symptoms here are extreme tiredness (such joy) and bigger boobs than normal. No sickness yet. Feeling bereft though as discovered that haggis is inadvisable to eat during pregnancy! Which is terrible news living in Scotland also because I already had some

Hello to everyone else due with their first on 9th/10th Oct, there seem to be a few of us! My booking in appointment isn't until week 9, which feels aaaages away. Time is going so slowly.

powerpuffer · 05/02/2017 13:37

kraken I'm due my first around the 8th I think. I've got my midwife appointment halfway through week 7 and I've booked a private scan at 7+6. DH will allow himself to be far more excited and talk about baby more often then I think - he's so scared that things will go wrong. I'm of the opinion that this is the first time I've ever been pregnant and I'm going to embrace every moment.

DancingUnicorn · 05/02/2017 14:20

I self referred to nearest midwife service yesterday, so hopefully will hear about booking appt soon! I think things will feel a bit more real then. It already seems like an insurmountable secret to keep from people! Has anyone told anyone yet?

hometownunicorn · 05/02/2017 14:33

Hi and congrats to all the new joiners. Sorry for everyone's losses too, I guess it must be really anxiety provoking this time around. I hope it all goes smoothly.

DancingUnicorn I'm finding it really hard to work out when I want to tell people. My parents and brother know as we're all close and it's the first grandchild so very exciting for them all. I've also told a close friend who has a 4 month old, on the basis that they'll understand and be there if anything goes wrong. I'm definitely thinking along the lines of who I'd tell anyway if it went wrong and I'm ok with them knowing now.

Other than that I don't want to tell anyone really and I have a couple of friends who've had miscarriages or other fertility probs lately so I'm sort of dreading telling them. When we were TTC I found it so hard when anyone told me they were pregnant as I wanted to be happy for them but actually I was really jealous so I'm just assuming they'll feel the same. Maybe I'm wrong, and hopefully if not they'll be supportive at least. Can't really hide it forever so I'm going to have to bite the bullet at some point!

hometownunicorn · 05/02/2017 14:33

Also, two unicorns in one place...must be quite rare? Grin

MrsCharlieD · 05/02/2017 15:05

Twinkle so far I think symptoms have been pretty similar. I didn't know at this stage though with ds which I'm finding pretty unbelievable to be honest. How did I not know? I never really had morning sickness first time though and as I'm already feeling nauseous I don't think I'm going to be as lucky this time x

DancingUnicorn · 05/02/2017 16:38

Hometown, I know what you mean. But people will be happy for you, even if they are jealous as well! (Hopefully, anyway!)

Keeping it between oh and me for now... but not sure how long that will last. Have done social events where my lack of drinking may be very apparent ;)

Gimble maybe that letter had just come through first? Is that the first contact you had from them? If you hear nothing else, maybe you could ring to ask about booking appointment in a week or so.

Mulberry2627 · 05/02/2017 18:13

Congratulations everyone!!

Hit 6 weeks this weekend and with it came the sickness 🤢 spent yesterday morning feeling horribly sick and the this morning spend throwing up! Really have no idea how I am going to manage to teach like this this week! Any suggestions??!!

Presh88 · 05/02/2017 18:38

6w +1 today and also been hit with nausea - although not actually been sick yet thank god. Does food help at all mulberry?

powerpuffer · 05/02/2017 18:52

I'm 5 weeks today and no sickness or nausea but I've stocked up in sick bags that turn liquids into solids for my commute, ginger biscuits, ginger cake, crackers, rich tea fingers and sickness bands! I want to be prepared!

krakentoast · 05/02/2017 18:55

powerpuffer embracing every moment sounds like the way to go!

We haven't told anyone yet, for various reasons. Partly I quite like it just being me and DH who know for now.

DaisyFranceLynch · 05/02/2017 19:15

@tammie49 also still breastfeeding a very insistent toddler. I was planning to let him self-wean and am hoping it will happen naturally over the course of the pregnancy. I've heard that the taste of your milk can change during pregnancy and some babies/toddlers can be put off by this.

I'm not sure how he will respond to a new baby monopolising the "mama milk" otherwise. He's been clambering all over me and kneeling on my stomach during feeds, which could also get a bit uncomfortable.

tammie49 · 05/02/2017 19:24

How old is your toddler @daisy ? I really don't want to force it so I reckon I'll play it by ear a little bit.
@mulberry - I'm a teacher too and only returned from my last mat leave in October! I'd try and sneak some snacks to have in your classroom. Good luck!!

Pidgythe2nd · 05/02/2017 19:45

I'm out I'm afraid. Only posted on the 1st and 2nd tab but then it started to go wrong. Sad
I had a suspected ectopic, so these past days have been incredibly up and down but 'thankfully' I've miscarred naturally. Won't ever know exactly where the pregnancy was, but out of all the options they discussed this was the best (except obviously a healthy pregnancy!) and I'm hoping it was 'just' a miscarriage rather than an ectopic.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone and fingers crossed for lots of healthy babies come October.

DancingUnicorn · 05/02/2017 19:49

Oh pidgy I'm so sorry. 💐 Hope you have support.

HollyMay84 · 05/02/2017 19:57
