I'm very grumpy and ragey this week, trying not to be but my patience is low!

PinkUnicorn1990 · 07/03/2017 18:42

I had a meltdown yesterday evening because my cheese toastie didn't go right Blush got to love pregnancy hormones!!

marmitecheesetoast · 07/03/2017 19:41

All I could think about this afternoon was a smoked sausage chip supper (not eaten since my childhood years) we walked round via all 4 chippies but none had any!! Sad Now I think I've overdone it from all the walking, my pelvis bloody hurts and my ankle and my lower back Envy at least I burnt off some of the calories from the chips?! Hmm

Oh, and with 5 and a half weeks to go to give birth, I still couldn't get a seat on the bloody tram this morning!!! Angry

jpeg28 · 08/03/2017 06:20

Marmite that's crazy someone didn't give you a seat?!! The other day this crazy old lady asked me to give up my seat on the bus. I said "me?" And she said yes. So I got up and luckily someone else gave me a seat, not before I fell backwards into someone, who luckily was a nice lady who made sure I was ok. This lady then started telling me how hard it was for her to stand up on the bus... I said "yeah it is for me too"!!

I've slept in my own bed for two nights now... such an achievement!! I've been on the sofa before that or kicked OH out and had bed to myself. Sleeping in short bursts but better than nothing.

everdene · 08/03/2017 06:33

Marmite that is outrageous! I have had to get a lot more assertive than I'm used to but still squeak 'Could anyone spare me their seat? I'm eight months pregnant!' On the tube!

marmitecheesetoast · 08/03/2017 08:12

Yeah I think I need to start asking people everdene I just feel so awkward about it! Which is ridiculous I know!

Small wins on the sleeping front jpeg! I haven't slept for more than small bursts at a time since mid December but think I've got used to operating on a poor night's sleep now - must be biological preparation for when the baby arrives!!

Off for placenta re-scan later this morning, apparently there is still a chance it will have moved enough for vaginal birth but I'm not getting my hopes up. Consultant appointment straight after scan if needed at which point I presume they would be booking in for scheduled section if it hasn't moved. Wonder at what week that would be..?

jpeg28 · 08/03/2017 08:16

You definitely need to ask people for a seat marmite! Hope the appointments go well today and fingers crossed your placenta has moved!
I'm assuming the sleep is preparing us! But lately I've been up pretty much all night! Hope it's not that bad when the baby arrives Confused

TopKittyKat · 08/03/2017 08:20

Good luck marmite. I hope it has moved for you.

I'm with you all on the embarrassment at having to ask for a seat. I've been lucky and about 80% of the time I get offered one but I hate it when I don't and have to ask.

I hope you feel better for your two nights in your own bed jpeg

I've developed a new joyous symptom - foot pain. It feels like nerve pain shooting up the side of my heel when I take a step and I also have an uncomfortable clicking sensation on the ball of my left foot like a bone is clicking out of alignment. Serves me right for being smug about my lack of swollen feet/ankles.

MygirlKeith · 08/03/2017 09:19

Good luck marmite my elective is booked for 39+1, that was the earliest they would do it so I'd assume that's the standard? Not totally sure though, it's my 3rd baby but 1st section!

marmitecheesetoast · 08/03/2017 11:17

Thanks guys, just here how but apparently they are running over an hour late... and I forgot my book 🙈
That's good to know Mygirl will see what they say

abeandhalo · 08/03/2017 12:16

I've got that little foot pain as well - feels like something has twanged in my heel? It's not bad though, I think it's just carrying around this extra weight.

I heard babies are supposed to stop moving so much in the later stages as they run out of room - well no one had told mine he has been nuts all week! Shock Thank goodness I've only got a couple of days left at work.

Got an appointment at the MW unit on Tues to see if they can monitor the baby easily despite my BMI, and if they can then I should be allowed to birth there rather than in the consultant led unit, which would be a dream! Fingers crossed.

PinkUnicorn1990 · 08/03/2017 12:48

I get cramp in my foot, so strange and hard to get rid of, especially when you can't just jump up and walk around!

Abe I have been told about babies moving less as less room but my midwife said although movements may feel different (like a rolling and pushing rather than a kicking) they shouldn't be any less Smile

PinkUnicorn1990 · 08/03/2017 12:50

My main issue at the moment is wanting to eat everything in sight BlushCakeBrew

peanut2017 · 08/03/2017 13:10

Hey ladies working from home today which is great! Off on Friday, Hubbie booked a lovely 5 star spa for 2 nights so I am sooo looking forward to that!

I got a bit freaked out as the babies movements were quieter for 2 days but we were in for appointment today & said to consultant was this ok and he said it's not the amount of times you feel kicks but more if it was always morning & night and then that stops then contact them. Also said food has an effect on them within 20 minutes and the other night I did get some chocolate & coke and lay on side & baby did start going bananas

Went for a massage last night omg was amazing more of a pleasure / pain experience than a relaxing one but the sensitivity around my bum and hips & my ankles were so swollen but not as bad today

marmitecheesetoast · 08/03/2017 14:36

Woohoo placenta is no longer low lying!!! Infant, sonographer said it can't have been low lying 2 weeks ago at last scan either as it was no where near the cervix and that because the last person had done an abdominal scan rather than internal one they'd read it completely inaccurately and that she was going to report it... oh dear!! It is annoying as it would have been good to know that 2 weeks ago! Really pleased though! Although just need to get my head round it now as had completely convinced myself it would still be in the way and that I'd need an elective section. Need to get back on my breathing practice, hypnobirthing etc as I've done nothing for last 2 weeks inbetween scans, oops!

Fingers crossed it's a go ahead for the midwife led unit abe

Spa beeak sounds bliss peanut, think we are going to go for one for my birthday at the end of the month!

purpleviolet1 · 08/03/2017 15:45

Aw great news marmite!

Policy at my Hosp is also 39 weeks for c section.

Sorry to hear about the foot pain. My latest issue is that my pelvic bone is really sore when I change position in bed. ITs like it's being crushed. Must be the weight.

Anyone else getting period like aches? Discharge is so heavy as well now.

36+5

MyGreenSofa · 08/03/2017 16:21

Good news marmite!

Sounds like your body is gearing up purple!

It won't be long before we get some babies making an appearance! I still haven't washed any clothes or packed my hospital bag so hopefully not me yet!

That's great news Marmite v pleased for you!

Going walking in the pool tonight which is lovely to get the weight off my hips, plus he calms down in water so I get a bit of a rest from the kicking!!

peanut2017 · 08/03/2017 21:25

That's great news marmite

peanutbutter310 · 08/03/2017 23:21

Marmite That's great news, although bad that they good things so wrong in the last scan. At least it's all worked out!

TopKittyKat · 09/03/2017 06:49

Great news marmite

Purple I've been getting period pains for about a week now and also have had an increase in discharge. I'm 35+4.

Abe - walking in the pool sounds lovely. I'm counting down the days until my mat leave starts (two more weeks at work) and am looking forward to some relaxing days at home with a spot of swimming.

SharkBastard · 09/03/2017 06:50

Fantastic news Marmite! Bet you're thrilled!

Regarding babies movements, they absolutely shouldn't slow down, they should remain in the normal pattern, they may struggle to make such large movements but if they slow, you need to call triage asap.

I'm now only just starting to slow down, I finish work on Wednesday, which I'm thrilled about. Cooking seems to take me hours instead of minutes, I can't reach the tap to wash up anymore!

I'm sleeping okish, only managing 6 hours a night though but I've always been a terrible sleeper. I've ordered a birthing ball to get going with and I've yet to buy a single baby vest 😣😣 will be doing all that on mat leave cause I haven't time to do it during the week!

Full steam ahead now isn't it!!!

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 09:07

Given that the baby is breech and I'm
Most likely having a c section should I be monitoring these period cramps? It's like an ache which comes on and is painful enough to catch my breath and want me
To reach for painkillers. And then it just goes. Lasts maybe 15 mins. Happening a few times a day now

TopKittyKat · 09/03/2017 09:13

Purple - my pains are like that too but don't last as long (maybe a couple of minutes).

If I was you, I'd call your midwife for advice.

purpleviolet1 · 09/03/2017 10:41

Thanks kitty. It's been like a constant ache for the last hour but the pain does peak and then ease a bit even though it's been constant, if that makes sense ...
