Mooseville · 05/12/2016 18:41

Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Yeah pate seems to be a big no no from what I've read Wanting... I know, I love it too but it's not worth the risk & as you say it'll be more than worth it.

My bloating is really terrible. I've found some tips to reduce it that I'm going to try, here for info if anyone needs it: www.madeformums.com/pregnancy/bloating-in-pregnancy/36519.html

Had my flu jab yesterday from the GP but made the mistake of googling it & of course there are lots of anti-vaxxers saying you should avoid it. Have you all had it? NHS guidance seems very clear we should have it.

HellsBellsK · 24/12/2016 09:12

Wanting I keep googling that. So far its a mixed bag. Guidelines say no tho. Some say once its cooked and cooled correctly that it should be okay but not to eat a lot as to much Vit A is bad.

I am about to start making the Pate for the family now for tomorrow. I might have a little I will see. Wink

marmitecheesetoast · 24/12/2016 10:59

I think pate is a big no no sadly.

I've been really missing soft cheese like Brie, Camembert and goats cheese the most. Just realised I can have them if nuked in the oven so we're having a baked Camembert for tea tonight so excited! Xmas Grin

LovelyFishy · 24/12/2016 14:36

Pate's a no unfortunately. We had a pate and cheese evening at work so I researched it a lot as I so wanted pate!

Marmite I remember the moment I realised I could have baked Camembert well, enjoy! Xmas Grin

Merry Christmas ladies, hope you all have a wonderful day Xmas Grin

HepKestrel · 25/12/2016 13:47

Sneaking across to wish you all a happy Christmas!

Musicgrrl · 25/12/2016 20:22

Merry Christmas everyone! Those that told their loved ones today let us know how it went! Xmas Smile I stuck to hiding it with the non alcohol wine - that stuff is not tasty!! Xxxx

MrsG280516 · 25/12/2016 21:55

We told DHs parents and sister last night, lovely reaction from them, his mum was looking forward to being a Nanna anyway so she got a bit over-excited. We were glad they left a few hours later Grin

Told my parents plus aunt and uncle and both sets of grandparents tonight, again a lovely reaction but they're a bit more chilled out so it didn't feel like such an ordeal!

Now just looking forward to our early scan next Friday so make sure everything is alright and we can get more excited.

MouseLove · 25/12/2016 22:51

Sneaking in to wish all you preggos a merry Christmas. Save me a seat for next year please. 😘🌲

kavanaughkj · 26/12/2016 04:58

Up to pee after a lovely Christmas Day and wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas :) spent half the day moving into new flat and am posting from an unfamiliar bathroom- it's fab but very odd! Congrats to people sharing the news for the first time - and welcome in, Hells and Star!

Hugs to Hep and Mouse too. Thanks for sneaking on Xmas Grin

HellsBellsK · 26/12/2016 09:05

Happy Christmas everyone - hope you had a lovely day.

Ah thats great that they are all so excited MrsG good luck with your scan on friday I am sure everything will be prefect.

Ended up watching people eat the lovely pate yesterday didn't have any. Now today I have to go to DH moms for dinner - she knows I love pate and got it for me for a starter - no one else eats it in his family. So need to come up with a reason not to eat it.

Nicky883 · 27/12/2016 12:44

Hello girls hope you had a nice chrismtas ! I am panicking slightly just done a clearblue dogital and it says 2-3 weeks ! Shouldnt it say 3+ by now ? I am 5w+4d today and no symptoms :(

WantingBaby1 · 27/12/2016 13:20

Wouldn't worry nikki those things aren't v good at dating. Mine said 2-3 when I was exactly 5 and my 7+1 wk scan said 7+1 so I really wouldn't go by the tests.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Musicgrrl · 27/12/2016 13:22

Nicky - don't worry. It's very variable when it goes up to 3+ and it freaks out loads of people. I read about that in advance so didn't test it until I was 6 weeks and it came up 3+ as didn't want to worry myself. It's VERY normal for it not to tick up until around 6 weeks or later so please don't worry

Musicgrrl · 27/12/2016 13:23

Hells what did you do about the pate?

Nicky883 · 27/12/2016 13:42

Thanks music and wanting ! I thinknits the lack of synptoms thats freaks me out ! I dont think i can wait until 8w+1d to go for the test !

Musicgrrl · 27/12/2016 14:12

I get you nicky - why don't you change it? I still haven't actually booked mine but thinking of going when I'm 7+5

Nicky883 · 27/12/2016 14:21

Well i think i am out just went to the toilet in the mall of all places i have brown blood

WantingBaby1 · 27/12/2016 14:32

Oh nicky Sad are you sure? Could be implantation bleeding? My friend bled heavily at 7 and 9 weeks and is now 14 and fine. Could be nothing? Fx for you

Musicgrrl · 27/12/2016 14:52

nicky so sorry that you have brown blood Sad From stuff I've read that isn't that uncommon in first trimester - it's red blood and cramping that are the main warning signs. But you could go to your GP tomorrow and they might refer you for a scan? Got my fx tightly for you

MrsG280516 · 27/12/2016 15:44

If it's just a bit of spotting Nicky then I'd try not to worry, you'll be especially anxious because of the CB test so it could be harmless. If it's more than that then try to contact your local EPU for a scan.

Mooseville · 27/12/2016 15:51

Try to not think the worst nicky As the girls have said, brown blood is much better than red blood. Apparently a bleed is quite common about the time you would be expecting to get your period. I know on the other thread I was on, the advice is not to worry too much until it starts soaking a pad. Easier said than done though... phone your local EPU for advice.

Nicky I wouldn't worry either - I think Its common for a bit brown spotting around week 5 - 7 its old blood.
My friend also had red blood from week 6 - 12 and all is fine she is now 15weeks. May be ring the hospital if worried.

Music it went fine thank god. It was put in the middle of the table for me to share with DH auntie so just pretended to put some on my knife for my cracker.
Out again tonight for dinner in DH family for his brothers engagement then again tomorrow with DH cousin. I am so tired!

Also booked a private scan for two weeks time - just for a piece of mind.
Will ring the hospital tomorrow and book my consultant.

Starmist · 27/12/2016 19:13

Nicky please try not to worry, I've read lots about how some bleeding is nothing to worry about in the first trimester. Do you have any pain? Can you go to your doctor tomorrow?

Nicky883 · 27/12/2016 19:28

Hi ladies i went to the put of hours gp she thinks i am having a misscariage and the blood is red and heavier now pregmamcy test still
Positive but it will take some time for the hormones to leave the body . Unfortunately it wasnt meant to be for me but at least after 12 months of trying i get comfort in the knowledge that i can concieve ! Good luck to all of you !
