Mooseville · 05/12/2016 18:41

Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Thanks ladies! Think I'll pop a scan pic in my parents Christmas card and watch them open it!

MrsG280516 · 22/12/2016 15:51

Great news Wanting! I hope we get just as clear of a heartbeat next Friday and hope that they date me at 8w like I think I am from ovulation.

WantingBaby1 · 22/12/2016 16:12

I'm sure you will mrs fx for you.

Starmist · 22/12/2016 20:44

Hello ladies - it's so lovely to see familiar names & I'm excited to be able to join this thread Xmas Grin

Just got my BFP last night so I'm still in a state of disbelief but here are my stats:

Age 33
Cycle 11
Due Date (eek!) 28th August

MrsG280516 · 22/12/2016 20:57

Hi Star great to see you here!

marmitecheesetoast · 22/12/2016 21:07

Great news Wanting, congratulations!

Welcome and big congrats Star!!

I'm just sat here with my top rolled up looking at my bump as was curious after reading that I would be able to see kicks and movement now. I didn't believe it was true but oh my goodness I can see every kick and movement!!! Xmas Shock really didn't expect to see anything yet! It's bizarre/amazing! For the first time I actually feel like there's an actual little person in there! Xmas Grin

WantingBaby1 · 22/12/2016 21:19

Welcome star! Great to have another grad here.

marmite that's so amazing! I am literally in awe at what our bodies are doing right now. How far along are you?

Nicky883 · 22/12/2016 21:26

Welcome starmist !! Xmas Smile
How amazing marmite i bet it feels nice :) !

LovelyFishy · 22/12/2016 23:16

Congratulations Star! Xmas Grin

I think I felt the first movement yesterday but so hard to tell, nothing since.

Mooseville · 23/12/2016 07:35

Welcome star Saw your news on the other thread! So happy there's another one joining us!

Exciting about the movements marmite and fishy I don't think I've felt any yet. Sometimes if I really lie and concentrate I think I do, but then I don't know if it's my mind making it up!

I just called the doctors to book an appointment to see the GP we'd been seeing about fertility tests, fully expected to have to wait a few days as they are always booked up. The receptionist gave me multiple times when I could see him today. I said "that never happens, you're always so busy". She said "well it's Christmas, a time for miracles". I said "that's certainly true, I've just found out I'm pregnant". She was so excited & let out a bit of a scream & said congratulations - it was a lovely reaction from her Xmas Grin

Mooseville · 23/12/2016 09:48

Awww that's lovely!!! Xmas Grin Merry Christmas!!!!!

Musicgrrl · 23/12/2016 09:58

Congratulations star that's such fantastic news! Lovely to have you here and glad that you can go and speak to the GP so soon Xmas Smile

Think I've realised how hard this Christmas period is going to be to stop me obsessively worrying. Working from home today and have already spent half an hour on pregnancy blogs and dr Google making myself anxious that I don't have more symptoms. Must exercise more self control and use the festive period to relax and be productive. 6+1 today, 6 weeks feels like a mini landmark!

MrsG280516 · 23/12/2016 10:07

Aww that's so lovely Star Xmas Grin your baby will be forever known as a little Christmas miracle!

MrsG280516 · 23/12/2016 10:09

Well I caved the other day and bought some maternity jeans, I couldn't wear my normal ones comfortably as I'm so bloated this past week. Wearing them in the office this morning and feeling so comfortable Grin why doesn't everything have an elasticated waistband?!

Starmist · 23/12/2016 10:20

Music I can't help but feel worried too. I'm 4+4 so it's very early but I've waited so long for this that I want to enjoy it. I hope you get the chance to relax a bit over Christmas. Hope we all have healthy sticky beans.

I'm still taking my Seven Seas TTC tablets but I guess I need to think about getting some pregnancy tablets. What does everyone take?

kavanaughkj · 23/12/2016 10:26

Hee. I can't fit into any of my jeans any more either MrsG, though I will say that I was already struggling for a while with them simply because I'd put on weight. Tried putting on a pair yesterday though that just about fit a few weeks ago and it was a definite NOPE! I've been living in leggings and long tops the last couple of weeks as anything pressing in on my tummy makes me feel queasier than usual. I don't have maternity jeans yet though but I did splash out on a maternity bra and a pair of pjs with an inbuilt bra - sleeping without a bra now is too uncomfortable!

Congrats Star! Lucky cycle 11 :) I was cycle 11 too. It's lovely to have more company from the TTC thread Xmas Grin - and your doctor's receptionist's response to your news was lovely. I had a similar reaction when I passed on my midwife referral to the GP's receptionist - she took one look at the paper and wished me congratulations. When you can't tell the majority of the people you know about it, it's so nice to have those small moments of 'eeeeeeeeeeee!!!', even with a stranger.

Congrats on the scan, Wanting! I'm trying not to think too much about mine as I still have 3 weeks or so to go. Am 7 weeks today and wishing the time away.

It must feel so strange to feel something kicking inside of you! What a proper little miracle. :)

kavanaughkj · 23/12/2016 10:27

I use the Seven Seas pregnancy tablets Star - they have ginger in and I'm wondering if they've partially helped reduce my nausea. :) I always preferred their TTC tablets to Pregnacare Conception too because those made my pee luminous!

HellsBellsK · 23/12/2016 10:32

Hi Ladies,

Excited to join but I am very early so hopefully everything will go okay.

Age: 30
Cycle: 3
Due Date: 30th Aug

The next few days are going to be really hard to hide the face I am pregnant around my family.

Starmist · 23/12/2016 11:24

Thanks Kav xx

Welcome Hells my EDD is 28th Aug so very close. We don't want to tell ppl this early but we're going to DH's parents for Christmas Day & FIL always makes his own pate for the starter. I could avoid drinking without too much bother but to avoid eating the pate when they know how much I love it, I may as well be wearing a flashing sign that I'm preggers. The thing that worries me is SIL & her 5YO boy will be there. Whilst on one hand I love the thought of a big announcement on Christmas Day it seems so early & I'm worried. Not sure what to do really...

marmitecheesetoast · 23/12/2016 14:32

I know, it's so amazing/mind-bending/awe-inspiring that our bodies just do this and create this little life?! Wanting I am 24 weeks today - so officially 'viable' as of today!! Xmas Grin
I had my first community MW appointment this morning which was exciting, I got to hear the heartbeat and she reminded me to take a recording of it on my phone! I'm really pleased as I feel I missed out on that from the 16 week appt! And now I can keep listening to it! Xmas Grin

She was a really nice MW and it was much less rushed/impersonal than at the hospital. She also said there's only her and one other MW at that antenatal clinic so I'll see one or the other of them now going forward for the rest of my appointments which has made me feel lots better after seeing a different very rushed person every other time so far.

Fishy and Moose I felt what I thought was my first movement around 18 weeks or so but then didn't feel anything else for a good week or so. Everyone tells you it feels like butterflies but to me it felt more like a bit bit of popcorn 'popping' if that makes sense? All of the sudden in the space of a few weeks you'll suddenly start to feel much more definite movement! The first proper definite kick I felt was in an important meeting at work and then I couldn't concentrate on what was being said at all after that!!

That's really lovely Star!

Music please try not to feel worried, lack of symptoms at that point is really common - just think of the stories you hear of people who didn't know they were pregnant til they were about to pop! Xmas Wink I'm sure in a few weeks time you'll be feeling sick and wondering what you were complaining about Xmas Grin

Star yes you need pregnancy multivit or at the very least folic acid and vitamin D supplement. My MW recommended the centrum pregnancy multivitamin.

for those talking about maternity jeans, I can highly recommend the New Look over bump maternity jeggings - not too expensive, really comfy, come in a range of colours - including black which has become my new 'work trousers' Xmas Blush and have so far washed and worn really well!
Also you can get those button on bump bandeau things that allow you to keep wearing your normal jeans/trousers a bit longer as they add an extra inch or two! - I got one from Jo Jo Mamman Bebe which was good.

Congrats and welcome Hells!

Last day in work today before the festive break and as you can tell I'm not being particularly productive...! Have spent a large chunk of the day so far booking in all the rest of my leave and figuring out when I', going to finish work! I think it's going to come round very quickly after Christmas now eeeeeek!

Mooseville · 23/12/2016 14:48

Just arrived at my Mums for Xmas and she's knitting me a tiny white cardigan! It's so tiny! Xmas Shock

Star we told our families right from the beginning. I just thought, well I'll tell them anyway if something goes wrong and their support and advice would be useful. Depends how close you all are and how well they can keep a secret I guess!

I take seven seas. The pregnacare ones freak me out with their illuminous pee, and made me feel sick!

marmitecheesetoast · 23/12/2016 16:18

Aw that's lovely enjoy being pampered by your mum Moose!

HellsBellsK · 23/12/2016 16:30

Thank all.

Star I am about to start making the pate here.. thats my job every Christmas. So that and the lovely cheese is going to be red flashing lights outing me!

Aw very cute Moose
I am also thinking just tell the families or even my side. DH brother just got engaged so don't want to take the limelight of them.

WantingBaby1 · 24/12/2016 08:30

Love this thread. So many happy mums to be!

Congratulations hells and star, such lovely news at Christmas!

Told our parents yesterday, both sets over the moon! Telling my brother tonight. I know it's early (7+3 today) but it'll be totally obvious when I don't eat pate and drink wine at Xmas. I'll miss both but it's worth it. Is pate really a total no no? Probably Sad
