Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Great bump mrsG people have started guessing, I must be really massive Confused

marmite going to India for 2 weeks - nervous but looking forward to being away!
I went to a physio session that my local hospital runs related to PGP (pelvic girdle pain) during pregnancy - does your NHS offer anything like this? What you've described is really common, and understandable given the pelvic ligamenture relaxes throughout pregnancy to allow the wings of the ilium to accommodate the baby moving through the birth canal. Are you sleeping with your top knee and ankle supported? Also doing body weight exercises can help, as the muscles can no longer rely on the structural support of the ligaments.

marmitecheesetoast · 18/02/2017 10:44

Ooh thanks Skip that sounds like some expert knowledge there? Yep I have a full body pregnancy pillow all the way between my legs and feet and a wedge under my bump too. I'm not sure whats on offer, at my last midwife appointment (over a week ago now) the midwife referred me for physio but I haven't heard anything yet. I've mainly been doing swimming, pregnancy yoga (with lots of squats etc) and walking. I know it must be pretty normal, just hope it doesn't get any worse!

marmitecheesetoast · 18/02/2017 10:45

Also India sounds amazing - incredibly jealous!!! Have always wanted to go but never been! It will be really lovely time for you and your OH to get away!

Starmist · 18/02/2017 11:55

Not long until your gender scan Mrs how exciting! You've got a lovely bump.

Glad your scan went well Seahawk

Music I've got the Glow app.

Lovely I may have to download the Ovia app to check out the size comparisons, they sound fun!

Welcome Poppet! Huge congratulations to you. How are you feeling? I just told people at work this week, it was just a relief to have it out in the open & not worry about hiding my tummy anymore. Hope you enjoy telling your family. I think I'm 12+5 but I don't know for certain as baby was bouncing around so much at the scan they couldn't do the measurements, going for another scan on Monday. I get to sleep fine & wake up in the middle of the night & struggle to get back to sleep too - it's making me shattered.

Kav best of luck for your DH's interviews.

Lovely scan Dixie I found it incredible to see baby moving around.

Marmite can't believe you're so far along eek exciting!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Poppet8583 · 18/02/2017 15:35

I hope so marmite!

Thank you Starmist, I'm feeling fine overall - no sickness so far (touch wood!) but my appetite has changed a bit and I'm quite tired but other than that I'm good. I bet it was a relief to tell work, I've told my manager but that's it so far so I'm looking forward to having my 12 week scan and then being able to share my news! I've got a long way to go though as I'm only 5+4...

FXSkip · 18/02/2017 19:31

marmite I'm not taking DH - I'm taking my mum haha!! He's worried sick about me 🙈

I'm 12+3, having my scan on Monday but all being well won't tell my direct manager till following Monday, then hopefully can hold off telling the rest until after I'm back from hols, when I'll be 17 weeks. I just can't face everyone asking me questions about it and commenting.

Anatomy is a personal hobby of mine, I think it's fascinating! However it sounds like you're doing all the right stuff, could you mention it to your pregnancy yoga teacher? Maybe she'll have some advice.

Seahawk80 · 18/02/2017 19:56

Thanks star

Hope everyone is having a better weekend than me. I'm working and feels my very tired and hormonal all of a sudden. Still one week to go until holiday!

Baby is giving proper kicks now and have been rolling around all afternoon - feels
Weird!

skip where in India are you going? I spent 6 months there 12 years ago as a very naive backpacker! There's no where else like it.

FXSkip · 19/02/2017 06:30

Oh seahawk how exciting (how many weeks are you again?)

Going to Goa, keeping it safe and touristy for me (and baby's) first time!

Seahawk80 · 19/02/2017 08:15

Lovely skip I love Goa. If you can it's really worth taking a trip up to Anjuna on a Wednesday for the market - it is worth seeing but don't buy loads of ethnic tat. Everyone in my family has a Goa beadspread shoved in a cupboard / loft somewhere! Old Goa and dudsegar falls are pretty cool too. Don't do an organised trip, just get a driver for the day.

I'm 21 weeks today. I've been feeling unmistakable movement for the last week and since week 18 very gentle movements that would make me think was that the baby? It's a weird feeling but I love it.

Mooseville · 19/02/2017 08:45

Morning all, just checking in quickly. Currently away in the Lake District - we come every year about 20 of us for a few days. Am sad to be missing out on the drinking, but there's lots of good food and got out for a good hike yesterday - did 5 miles and climbed the equivalent of 39 floors! Shock I'm hoping today's walk is a more relaxing flat one! But it did feel good to be out doing something - I've been very lazy. Putting on weight at an extraordinary rate! My thighs don't look like they belong to me! They're huge, like tree trucks and covered in cellulite! Awful!! Once this holiday is over I really need to be more active and eat less chocolate!!

I haven't caught up on the thread yet (looking forward to doing that later with a cup of tea) but just wanted to say yay for scan day mrs! Can't wait to hear whether you're team blue or pink!! Happy Sunday everyone! Smile

MrsG280516 · 19/02/2017 12:35

Thank you music! We're very happy and excited to be expecting a pink one 💗 unfortunately she was very snuggled up to the placenta so no useable 3D shots but here she is at 16 weeks!

Poppet8583 · 19/02/2017 13:08

Congratulations MrsG! Great pic x

Seahawk80 · 19/02/2017 13:24

Congrats Mrs 💖 Lovely scan pic

Musicgrrl · 20/02/2017 07:29

Amazing mrs! That's so exciting! Did you have any inkling or preference?

Good luck for your scan today fxskip - will be thinking of you! Lovely that you get to see baby again Smile

MrsG280516 · 20/02/2017 09:34

We didn't have a preference by both hubby and I had started to get a gut feeling she was a girl! Just need to keep it a secret now from family until Sunday's gender reveal party Grin my mum and dad are both convinced its a boy so they'll be surprised!

FXSkip · 20/02/2017 12:16

Thank you music and congrats mrsG what a lovely scan pic!

Seahawk80 · 20/02/2017 12:33

Good luck skip

Starmist · 20/02/2017 13:35

We had our second attempt at 1st scan but baby still wasn't playing ball so they couldn't get the NT measurement. Got a clearer scan picture than last time though so that's good Smile

#TTC1 - Second Wave grads thread!
Musicgrrl · 20/02/2017 13:57

Ooh star I didn't realise you had a scan today too. You must have one active baby! Lovely to get another pic though. Will they do the later test instead then?

Starfish83 · 20/02/2017 14:19

Ooh, hello! I've only just found you! I was on the TTC#1 thread but was very lucky to conceive in cycle 1... I've joined the thread for October due dates, but would be lovely to chat here too; the TTC#1 thread women were so wonderfully supportive.

I'm 33 and 6+2 with baby no.1. Smile

Star xx

Starmist · 20/02/2017 16:44

Music they are going to do the blood test for downs etc at week 16. They said they can't do another attempt at this scan but there is something they can look for at the 20 week scan apparently.

Welcome & congratulations Starfish! How are you feeling? Have you told any family or close friends your news yet? I'm 33 as well. 13 weeks exactly today.

FXSkip · 20/02/2017 16:53

starmist that's a great looking wee bubba!! Welcome star and congrats - first cycle is good luck indeed!!
My scan went well, baby was kicking and flailing around having a great time 😁 was amazing to see it go from blob to baby so quickly! Feels very real now, also got my due date moved forward to 30th August. So much to do in the house, so little time/money/motivation - someone come and do it for me?!
